So, we finally meet Why-Man and it turns out....it's a whole bunch of Medusas coming together and roaming the universe, looking for intelligent life. Then when they happen upon intelligent life, they petrify them in order to give them eternal life and essentially be grateful for it. They came across humans, saw the US flag and car on the Moon and thought we were an advanced civilization...only to realize we were taking too long to make new technologies so they petrified us lol. That also explains why it was constantly asking "Do you wanna die?" I guess the interesting thing is what's going to happen in the next episode now that we know the reasons.

So all along no human was capable of making petrification science, only an alien species, and they overestimated humanity's intelligence vastly because we are ten billion percent dumbasses

Oxygen as a deadly toxin for them, ain't that unfortunate

Chrome figures out the real phrasing of the question, for a super-intelligent being it needs to work on its communication skills

"Didn't happen, but that's what they were hoping for" Gen always good and blunt

Not often that Senku sounds that angry. "Why the hell did you sabotage your own goal?" indeed!

Wow, that was one hell of a twist. Why-Man was the Medusa -- the Medusas were the aliens all along and they were just looking for a smart civilization to enter into a symbiosis with. Maintain their batteries and help make more of them and their gift is eternal life. Buuut they underestimated how long it would take for any human to revive, lol. Kind of an oopsy.

The radio waves attract them to planets because that's the sign they look for for intelligent life. And oxygen is poison to them. The birds were just a test. The GPS got them excited again. But waiting thousands of years... definitely machine lifeforms, lol. Treasure Island was a mistake.

They seem to have their own personalities. Why-Man being eager to petrify them again and again. Is it just me or is the one in the capsule a little blunt sorta like the Dr. Stone of their race? lol. Bit of a faulty way to show off eternal life.

Eh after that first round of "diplomacy," Senku's gonna negotiate? Oooh....

The Medusas should probably move on and look for another planet, imo. lol.

"Dr. Stone Science Future: “Why Man” Episode 93 Recap"

"This week’s episode of Dr. Stone: Science Future delivered an absolutely jaw dropping twist concerning the identity of the mysterious main villain “Why Man.” This episode abandons the grounded edutainment elements of previous episodes and goes full Star Trek level science fiction. The reveal is one of the most memorable twists we’ve seen in 2020s anime. Seriously, watch the episode before reading this recap or the twist will be ruined. You have been warned. Okay, why would you be reading a recap before watching the episode? Okay, let’s recap the big shocking twist of this episode.

The episode begins with the Kingdom of Science stepping foot on the moon and celebrating man’s first trip there since 1972. The crowd at home watching the moon mission on television begins to go wild. The trio rides in a dune buggy and heads out to confront the main villain. Kohaku hears Senku tell her to release the petrification device and she complies despite this order seemingly making no sense. It turns out that the “Why Man” has the ability to clone voices and was the real one who gave the order. She quickly chucks the petrification device as far away as possible to make sure she doesn’t turn to stone. This is made easier because the moon has 1/6th the gravity as the Earth. The Kingdom of Science finds out the “Why Man” is operating at a very historically important location."

What an incredibly fickle bunch of machines for only ONE to maintain curiosity about humanity, good luck out there parasites you probably won't find anyone else matching what you want

No species in the universe knows exactly where it came from, wonder what one that does know would even look like and if it's even advantageous

Taiju and Yuzuriha with an indulgent multi-day wedding, well as long as they don't get sick of cake every day

Chrome finally laid it out straight with Ruri but um you need to DATE first dude, Gen with a very clear "no thank you" to the idea of female bombshell Senku, man Suika's really never going to stop wearing that melon

The police re-established with idiots, well not everything can be a win, let's hope the Stone World judicial system also isn't too generous towards criminals lol

and so now the inciting Stonepocalypse is evitable entirely, not a trace of skepticism left in Gen for the most outlandish of ALL inventions.....a time machine (something we'll need to relive our precious Dr. Stone memories)

"the end and to be continued" continued when and how I wonder, oh well science finds a way

Wow, we finally reached the series finale. The synopsis basically described what happened between Why-Man and Senku, lol. Why-Man decided to leave humans alone and find another civilization to take over. With Why-Man out of the way, Senku and co. could rebuild humanity again and get us back to speed. Everyone got happy endings and Senku is now working on his next and probably his most important invention: time traveling! And we finally understand why the show is called Dr. Stone: it's Senku's nickname from the rest of the world.

Overall, I had a great time watching this series and it's kinda bittersweet to see it end, especially since technically they could do more stories with the characters. But it's also good to know when to end it. I'll give this series an overall A. I was never a science major in school, so some things went over my head but the show did a great job explaining it in a clear way. Going to miss the characters and I hope Toonami gets to air the rest of the episodes!

Ha ha, had a feeling the Medusas would bail on humanity even waiting thousands of years but pretty cool one was intrigued and stayed despite the odds. While it was a little disappointing we don't learn how the Medusas came into existence, it made a curious counter.

ROFL, this show still had two more nutty twists - Lady Senku was hilarious and zoinks, a time machine! Kinda interesting if they at least manage to save Byakuya and the crew but in a way that doesn't mess with the timeline.

Nice seeing everyone settle into normal lives for the most part. And the wedding. And after all that waiting, in seconds Chrome and Ruri are not only an official item but getting married next, heh. Was a little annoyed they didn't address Kohaku's feelings for Senku.

Good coda on revealing what the name the series means in-universe.

It was a fun and unique series and I'll miss it. Probably one of the few anime to teach you practical knowledge. But I think there was a short epilogue manga made so there's always a chance for an OVA or movie adapting it. The "and to be continued" seems to hint at the possibility.
