Eisner is still CEO through.

...but with 43 percent of the shareholders today at the company's annual meeting in Philadelphia (ironically, the home of current corporate rival Comcast) voting no support of Eisner, it's hard to see how he holds onto the CEO job for very much longer, unless there's some sudden major financial windfall for the company, such as "Home on the Range" putting up "Passion of Christ"-like box office numbers during its opening week.

You'd need a miracle for that to happen (pun intended).

All I can say is that I hope this allows Disney to climb out of the pit it has dug for itself.

That's funny.:D :D

Hopefully this means a better chance that the Disney Treasures will continue. I'm also hoping that we can see some worthwhile stuff on the Disney Channel again.

I don't know if we can expect any real changes. Roy had some good ideas, but I doubt that any of them will come to fruition with one of Eisner's yes men in his position.

I heard that, for chairman, Eisner was replaced by a board member named (I think) George Mitchell. I wonder how he'll turn out.

I know analysts weren't expecting such a high number of shareholders to withhold their support from Eisner at the shareholder's meeting yesterday... I think analysts were expecting less than 30%, instead of the high 43% that withheld their support.

It would be nice, but the Disney Channel is pretty much beyond saving, as well as Toon Disney...

Maybe we can expect to see a VAULT DISNEY channel soon... Everybody knows that they have more than enough material to make that channel up...

That's true. And everything could be uncut since it would most likely be aimed at older audiences.

Mitchell is a former federal judge, U.S. Senator from Maine and was the Senate Majority leader during the early 1990s. His work was considered instrumental in the Democrats' 1992 sweep of the presidency and both houses of Congress, and after his retirement from the Senate he served as a special envoy for Preisdent Clinton in the peace talks in Northern Ireland and elsewhere.

Michael Eisner also has been a major fundraiser and benefactor of the Democxratic Party over the years. I only bring this up because it could be an indication of how Mitchell ended up on the Board of Directors in the first place. If he does have a close association with Eisner, his appointment as Chairman could be just a matter of moving the deck furniture around in an effort to fool the ship's passengers. But Mitchell played hardball politics against the first President Bush while leading the Senate opposition, so I don't think he'll be willing to go down with the ship if Eisner's helmsmanship doesn't produce changes in the near future (especially since he would be on a poential short list of Supreme Court nominees under a John Kerry presidency -- he definitely wouldn't want some sort of Disney disaster on his resume with that possibility in line).

Deck Chairs.....

Well if I were a passenger on this ship....

I'd use a deck chair as a flotation device....

It's clear to EVERYONE the ship is sinking....

The captain STILL refuses to belive that it is....

The ICEBURG wasn't a big enough hint that he needs to get off the ship & let someone else stear it into port who has a better chance of saveing the sinking ship & patching up the holes in the hull the current caption put in there by underfunding it & hitting said ICEBURG in the first place, the dope....

Let's see who's jumped ship so far.....

Roy Disney, Stanly Gold & Steve Jobs....

A good chunk of the shareholders have also jumped ship....

What needs to happen for the captin to realize the ship is sinking ?

For the water to be over his fool head perhaps ?

By then it'll be too late to save the ship....

Too bad there isn't a band for this one.....

Woulfe
* Q: What's the differance between the Titanic & Mike Eisner ? A: The Titanic had a band - Read this one online somewhere, thought it was funny ;) *

Wil the mice desert this sinking ship>

I have another theory as for why Johnny Bravo is neglected by CN nowadays. Putting aside the basic concept, it's the retools that made the show chaotic.
I might be the only one who cares but why is Scooby Doo basically unavailable everywhere? Netflix has only Mystery Inc and the two James Gunn movies. Tubi has What's New and Where Are You. Meanwhile HBO Max has basically nothing. I've been itching to watch the classic Scooby Doo direct to video movies lately and they're nowhere to be found outside of purchasing them on sites like YouTube.
Last night started watching a new adult animated series, a Netflix original that is basically the succesor to Big Mouth.

What is so great? Despite being a 18+ show, they actually bothered to give it a Romanian dub :ack::eek:
