I know it's early, but I wanted to make sure it was made (by me :) ) Before the episode actually started. On Futurama Tonight (7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time)

"Bender faces his greatest challenge when he tricks his way into the 3004 Earth Olympian and wins several events, but he must endure the final and most revealing test to receive his medals. When Bender has a date with a major robot celebrity, Calculon, he sees this as an opportunity to be wined and dined like never before. When Bender realizes there's an inequity of feelings, he enlists Fry's and Leela's help to stage a "soap opera death"."

So go and watch it, this being The Second of The Last 5 Futurama New Episodes.

In other words, "FIRST POST!"

Couple good lines early.. France/Sweden jabs..

Gone downhill fast.. Too much Hermes, gay bender voice making me insane. Will vote at end, leaning towards 1 star.

Not a standout, but still decent. The opening bit with Hermes felt a little tacked on, and wasn't resolved (I was thinking this was going to be a Hermes-centric episode based on that), but the sequence with a disguised Bender made up for it (as did Farnsworth's attitude towards multiculturalism). As for female Bender his/herself, though there were a few too many "Bender is doing something funny as a woman" jokes, I thought that what worked excellent here was Bender having the same mindset towards women while being a woman himself, and that was the highlight of the episode for me. Calculon was good, as always, though not his best episode, though the ending "soap opera" wedding sequence was great. Also, I was worried they were going to end on a Bender emotional moment with Calculon, but the actual ending with the one-liner towards Leela and Amy made up for it. All in all, I'd say a B+.

Positives: Bender's attitude towards women while being a woman himself, the opening multi-cultural sequence, the ending soap opera sequence, Zoidberg
Negatives: The Hermes sequence, a few too many "Bender is a woman"/Bender's voice jokes

Bender's Robo Female Sex Change Can Be Summed Up In The Futurama Episode Review Of "Bend Her".

Why do I have a feeling these five episodes won't be as good as the mid season 5 episodes? Well at least until the last episode anyway. Anywho, this was a pretty good episode all the same. It was an intresting take to see Bender become female and develop female feelings of his own. Highlights included: Hermes being outlimboed by his arch rival Barbados (nice refrence to "A Flight To Remember" bringing up Hermes limboing again) Bender's first attempt to try to register as a fembot (and making up Robonina) and then later singing the Robonia national song, the Humorbot show, Calculon falling for Female Bender, all of Bender's negative remarks to women (mainly because of how ignorant they are) and the Sopa Oprea type ending ("Another plot twist"). I give this on an A--.

This episode was awesome, especially compared to the "tax rebate" episode. :P

I liked Bender's disguise and the dialogue when signing up for the Olympics. Zoidburg was awesome as always.

Bender: My dream ended before it began.
Zoidburg: Welcome to my life! ::Starts sobbing::

That was funny. :anime:

Farnsworth had lots of really funny moments. Every moment of screen he had was funny. I loved the soap opera ending.

**.5

I liked the beginning with the Olympics (seven ring logo? :D ), but it felt like most recent Simpsons episodes - it starts with an unresolved plot and turns into something completely different. And I did like the talk show that Fem-Bender was on. I did like that last scene in the end, and I also liked how they performed a robot sex change (Femmzoil? :) ), but Fem-Bender's constant female voice parody and constant references to his/her sex change got old quickly. Also, I feel that it would have been better if another little plot was thrown in there, like having Hermes' attempt to lose weight (only to fail, probably). I really can't say that this episode was memorable, but I would rather watch this than Banzai.

Damn, those Bonzai ads got on my nerves really quick.

I liked the "Country of Joe."

I've not seen the cery begining.... I tuned in just as Bender was winning the olympics. The anthem was funny, after that the episode started sliding. As someone mentioned. bender made too many references to his sexchange "Once I turn back into a guy...blah" Bender being a total sleeze as a woman... the return of Boxy(you know, that robot that hangs with Calculon) as Always Zoidberg was hilarious, especially when the P.E crew was throwing discarded food to him.

"I'm a doctor, she's dead"*eats more cake*

uuuuhhhhh...Hah!

The beginning with the throaway Hermes pseudo-subplot was bothersome and far to reminiscent of the pitiable contemporary The Simpsons episodes, but much of what followed was very funny. Zoidberg had a few wonderful moments of being pathetic, something I always enjoy. The entire wedding sequence was excellent and an apt mockery of soap opera plotting that had me laughing quite loudly. The bit about the disease Bender pretended to have being the same one Calculon suffered from while he was holding out for more money was an amusing detail. Overall, I'd say this is par for the course.

*** out of *****

Gave it 3 stars because, IMO, it wasn't really much of an ep with bender getting a sex change all to win Olympic medals.

However, I did enjoy the beginning with Hermes trying to win the Limbo race. Anybody know what his wife's name is, BTW?

I think it's Labarbara, or something like that.

I'd give the episode a 3/5. It wasn't that good, but it had it's moments.

I'm just not the biggest fan of Bender-centric episodes, and unfortunately for me the next two are also Bender stories. I prefer it when the episodes give a decent amount of time to all characters. I figure the least they could have done was put "Spanish Fry" inbetween one of these three.

But I will say this wasn't as bad as the Egyptian planet or folk music Bender episodes and had many good points, particualrly the early parts that didn't focus just on Bender. Farnsworth's reactions to multiculturism was classic.

3.5/5

My expectations for Futurama have been too high lately, since it's the last few episodes I guess I'm thinking they're all going to be part of a big finish. This week's, like most of the recent ones, was average by Futurama standards, meaning it was good, but not a stand out.

I missed it yet again.............

Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
