IGPX: "The End...and the Beginning" Talkback (Spoilers)

It was (and still is on) TBS. But i have to make a comment even though it's a honest mistake. Family Guy on The Learning Channel ..... that would have to involve 4Kids in some way to make that happen. I only remember it being canceled once. But the new/recent season's episodes havent lived up much to what was being made before it was canceled

Gah, I missed it! Does anyone know whether or not there will be re-runs for this show?

Most likely not. I'd be a miracle, basically. Next week's midnight slot is Squirrel Boy, and IGPX isn't anywhere to be found on the schedule. It's gone.

DVDs would be your best option.

That or wait for it to come to Toonami Jetstream.

Oh, the JP run has been WEEKS ahead of this run.
Episodes 25 and 26 were DVD-only in Japan.

although I would have preferred it had they actually completely taken the "snowman" down instead of just sneaking by it and going into speed mode
That reminds me. Forgot to mention this earlier, but I absolutely loved every single time a Team Satomi members makes a big hit and then goes into Speed Mode, and this race was no different. I dunno why, but all of those scenes just heighten my enjoyment of the race. Maybe it's because that means the race is about to finish.

It'll probably be out on DVD sooner than Jetstream airs the final episode.

Dude, totally Agree, just seems cool to make a hit and run...and they just look cool in speed mode too. I liked it every time they have done it.

They were a few cuts and edits in the last nights episode. The battle sequence when they are humans fighting Max was cut down a bit(in the start of the battle), because of nudity with Max and Team Satomi was made red(but in the original Japense version they were Yellowish in color like human skin). Plus Max seemed more crazy in the original than last night for some strange reason.

Other than that it was was ok ending, kind of sad that the show is ending forever though. DVDs here I come.

So, was it still PG to PG-L like the others have been even though it was edited?

Oh yeah, for the people wondering about episodes 25 and 26, they actually did air in Japan. I'm not sure when exactly 'cause it wasn't right after episode 24, but it was only on Cartoon Network Japan. The other networks that aired IGPX there did not recieve them.

These screencaps aren't of the best quality, but in the upper right you can see 'Cartoon Network' written in Japanese. There's also a shot of that crazy flying around scene as it appeared originally.

Right Right, but I thought it was cancelled twice? then it went on Cartoon network and TBS (or was it TLC...I don't remember) and suddenly it became really popular, and fox decided to bring it back.. again. but you guys are smarter (and more researched) then I, so please correct me!

Well it wasn't offically cancelled twice. The first time was in late 2000 after the second broadcast season had aired and it was at the brink of cancellation. However FOX wanted to give the show another chance so revived it at pretty much the 11th hour with another season. But it was never announced to be offically cancelled then. It was just one of those "all signs point to it ending but oh wait they changed they're minds at the last minute" sort of things. However in 2002 it was offically canceled, but the high ratings on TBS and Adult Swim (as well as the mega high DVD sales) they decided to offically bring it back. And it's been doing well ever since. The same will not happen for IGPX, as not only is it being pulled off TV all together, but the DVD sales aren't really high enough to warrant it either. I'm pretty sure the IGPX crew knew they had no chance of a third season, thus the ending here: which says they'll keep on racing, but you just won't see anymore of it.

You mean that text in the upper right corner? Wow, talk about a really bland logo. It's tiny and looks like normal text. Couldn't they just take the English logo and paste kanji over the C and N (and the words "Cartoon Network")?

No, it was rated TV-Y7FV. Despite one instance of 'damn' and 'hell'.

I guess TV-Y7-FV(on at least CN) allows that now.

Actually, the screens are cropped to remove the black bars. So the CN logo is normally there.

Probably not. Ratings errors aren't all that unusually. They probably just displayed the wrong rating in the corner of the screen.

I'm wondering when it will air again, Cause I missed it while waching Season 1 episodes of 24.

ugh. this episode seemed "so Japanese"
even the animation change made that obvious.
that whole "outer body mech" moment was...just goofy! they never needed such animation before, why added it now?

and WhiteSnow leader Max going "oh yeah, sorry we hurt you guys before and cheated and stuff, but it was for a good cause! now we are good and stuff so see you next time! tee hee" i agree, capital L LAME

i would have preferred Liz and Takeshi to remain buds, but then that whole puzzle thing would be useless to the ending. it was cute, but just rushed and annoying. "HEY TAKESHIIIII LIZ LIKED YOU ALL ALONG!"

it definetly could have been better. it was a nice series overall.

Really? That was the moment of character development I was looking for. All season, Max has been subtly hostile toward Judy and Zanak's actions. She wants to do things on her own, and this revelation shows that she did support the team on her own. And now they are good...well that was too quick to not seem lame, but the feelings of Max being revealed, I felt, was genuine.

Probably because Mitsuru Hongo used it before on Outlaw Star, and IGPX is basically Hongo's baby (the majority of the series, such as the racing gimmick, the mechs, and everyone loving hot dogs [he hates fish] are all Hongo).

So, essentially, this show is the Outlaw Star for this generation of Toonami. Minus a hot springs episode.

I thought it was a nice little bonus. Beats more commercials.

But, what's the point of the original ending without the original ending theme? It's like watching a music video with the sound turned off. Also, I assume that they would have gotten a new ending for the second season in Japan. I mean, Black Egg was still shown in this ending. I was staring at the back of their heads for a while before I realized that they were Black Egg. I really don't remember what Black Egg looked like at all. Does anybody?
