International Nickelodeon Thread Part 14

Who has the French Canadian rights these days?

Vrak closed down recently and even then SpongeBob was the last cartoon standing.
It sort of spread out now. Ici Tou.TV has the original Dora The Explorer and Rugrats, Télé-Québec has the rebooted Dora and Pluto TV has Bubble Guppies, Dora The Explorer, 2012 TMNT and channels for the latter and Spongebob Squarepants.

Ah so linear TV mostly gets the pre-school shows (and Rugrats). Shows like SpongeBob and The Loud House aren't fit for public broadcasters there.

KCA in Polish this time lectored by Klementyna Umer (who returned after the previous' absence and replacement with Magdalena Herman-Urbańska at KCA 2024) and Janusz Zadura. According to the ending credits, Paramount themselves (not through Nickelodeon channel) ordered the translation in TransPerfect Media Poland (ex. Start International/Hiventy Poland).

The situation for the Cartoon Network shows in Quebec is also the same as Nick’s (at least since 2013), as Télétoon doesn’t bother airing any of the recent CN shows like Steven Universe and Craig of the Creek. There are only a few exceptions, such as WBA-produced shows like Teen Titans Go!, the Ben 10 reboot, The Fungies, Tig N’ Seek and Jessica’s Big Little World.

Pas du tout!

I almost forgot this existed. I knew that they had an agreement before Nickelodeon launched.

Ironically Canal J and Gulli are under one roof now and Nickelodeon is Gulli's main provider of American content for the FTA channel. And The Loud House seems to be the most popular American cartoon in France, prove me wrong

Cartoon Network's situation got slightly better over the years actually. They are running most of the current shows running on CN now, including those that were moved to Adult Swim, but the legacy ones are still missing. Also, Tig 'n' Seek didn't air on Télétoon despite the announcements. Same for the Animaniacs reboot.

While the situation on Francophone Canadian linear TV reminds me of when RTP 2 aired Dora the Explorer (poached from SIC and redubbed) for a few years. Replace the linear Nick channel with Pluto TV and that's your lot. SpongeBob and The Loud House are unfit for Télé-Québec.

Unless the former teaches you how to try working in a fast food restaurant and the latter how to do teamwork, lying about things etc.

Nickelodeon content has been spread out across various networks here: you had ITV which got most of the well-known names (SpongeBob, Dora, and most recently, The Loud House), Channel 5 (excluding the Milkshake! strand) which had SpongeBob and The Loud House too alongside ROTTMNT + the 2012 show and Fairly OddParents.

Then you have the less common ones; the long-nixed Pop Girl had Zoey 101, while modern-day Pop has Monster High '22. The BBC (from what I can recall) only aired Fairly OddParents and Transformers: EarthSpark.

I remember that RTP 2 aired Zoey 101 but the video footage was in French (even though the audio was in English). It was subtitled, though (this was in 2010, after Nickelodeon here stopped airing live-action sitcoms with subtitles)

All Grown Up aired on CITV and took Rugrats with it off CBBC. And in the 2010s, live-action shows were initially on Channel 5 then went to CITV, also.

KCAs tomorrow on Nickelodeon's global compound at 11:00 my time.

Someone tell me if any of the feeds have a blimp bug.

I lost my faith in international Nickelodeon because of how roboticized the operations are since 2019 (and since 2024, TeleBlueized)

Closest you have to spread out here outside of the common ones is when the LA-SP dubs of Spongebob, Blue's Clues, and Wonder Pets aired on MTV Tres, though I only remember the first two
Also when Dora, Diego, and Backyardigans aired on Univision

Which languages on Nickelodeon Global (excluding the English audio track) dubbed/lectored KCA, and which ones left it in English?

Last year it was poorly-lectored (Russian style) in Portugal, after years of airing it subtitled

I think this year it will be the same

Because often the KCAs for years were the only legal way to watch some clips of shows (especially Nick shows due to it having only one track) in English

what the...

Why are people still surprised about Paramount's screwups?

It can't be Paramount in 2025 without such things happening: and likely it'll be getting even worse, with more stuff being automated and "AI-generated"

For Turkey, the Turkish audio track was available but the English audio track was also available in the background at low volume.

To celebrate the fact that I got three weeks off from work for rest, I watched today the latest installment in the separate Minions series of movies. What I loved was the unique logo variation of the Universal logo, which was akin to the plot taking place in the late 1800s

Nicktoons in the US has recently aired something that no one expected: an AI generated ad for an overpriced plush toy.
Not everything from DC and Marvel comics needs to be more like the adaptations.
Woah yeah today is my Birthday!
