Part 1
The International Pet Fashion Expo causes a lot of stress for Blythe, who finds herself under even more pressure when she's tapped to do a photo shoot for Tres Blasé magazine. Elsewhere, a visiting cat gives the pets a preview of the Expo.

Part 2
The International Pet Fashion Expo continues to be a busy event for Blythe.

Okay finale time, and with all these clips this felt like a series finale, it is like the writers didn't know they were going to do anymore, so let's make this like a series finale just in case.

I though Sunil crush on Delila was cute, though weird they are different specie. How does that work? And I thought it was unintentional hillarous when Emma said she wished she was a dog. I doubt that was an intentionally inside joke, but still funny to me. Zoey finally learned to be less selfish, that is great.

I love the fourth wall breaking by Delila, that was awesome. The first song wasn't that great, but the second one was awesome.

Again with the whole coroporation are evil, I know sometimes they can do unethical things, but if the world was mom and pop stores we would just be a third world country. Super stroes, they are so evil. Yeah whatever.

The Biskits did something compident, the world is coming to end. Hopefully this is final defeat, I am sick of them always being villain this season, come on writers give me something. Hopefully now that they have found Ramon, maybe be the main villain, and Biskits can be the neutral comic relief characters that should have morphed into by now.

Okay season 2 was made when season 1 was airing, so season 3 will be the first season in which they will have fan feedback before they make it, so let's see if they give a dam about our opinions.

Note: This review was scripted before the actual premiere here in America. I was a little fuzzy with the episode, so bear with me. This is what I thought the episode was telling me.

Hello Toonzoners. I'm SweetShop209. Welcome to my first in depth for Littlest Pet Shop. Normally, I would just give my quick thoughts on an episode and give it a score. However, since it's the season 2 finale, I want to go all out. The review format I' m using is inspired by an MLP reviewer on youtube, Voice of Reason. The format is Story, which is the plot of the story , how I feel about the story, and how well developed the characters are in the story; Technicals, which deals with animation and music; Entertainment, which deals with humor, serious moments, and investment; and Moral/Message, which is about the message they're trying to get across and how well it connects to the story. However, before we get to that, I want to do a mini review of the season 1 finale “Summertime Blues” and see how it compares to theseason 2 finale. Let’s go.

Summertime Blues: Blythe is accepted to a summer program at Fashion University North, or FUN, for short, that would have her gone for most of the summer, much to everyone’s shock. However, because it’s something that she loves, everyone else supports her in her dreams.
Before I get to the positives, I want to talk about a few problems I had with the episode. First, there was no build up. That episode just brought up the idea of going to FUN out of nowhere, unlike season 2, which had four episodes to build up to it. While I liked the talent show, I felt it could have been longer, but I guess it was time constraints. This special had a longer song with an encouraging message, unlike season 1, which was shorter. Also, while I like seeing Blythe so sure of herself of attending FUN, I thought she should have thought about it more than in one scene. However, the episode is still great. The characters are in character, as well as level headed, for the most part. Animation and music are very well done. There’s plenty to laugh about in this episode, but there’s also a lot of heart. The moral is really good: “If someone wants to follow their dream, you should let them, even if you might be apart for a long time. You should be supportive of that person.”Overall, despite the flaws, I liked the episode. It gets 9.5/10. Now, time to review “The Expo Factor”.

Story
: With the International Pet Fashion Expo coming up, Blythe is very nervous. She has to do a photo shoot for Tres Blasé magazine, get her kiosk to the expo, show her designs and impress the judges, and save Littlest Pet Shop from closing when Largest Ever Pet Shop is expanding. To make things worse, the Biskits sabotage her at every turn.

This story is rather interesting. At first, I thought it would be like “Alligators and Handbags” with Blythe suffering from confidence issues, but this was a different approach. In “Alligators and Handbags”, she learned that you can’t feel down on yourself when others criticize you, and that you should buck up and try again. Here, she learns how friends can help you get through the most stressful moments in life. That’s pretty clever. The characters in this special are written well, whether for good or bad.

Blythe, of course, is written well. She’s really dedicated to her fashion, which I like. I wasn’t too keen at first, but it grew on me, and I like seeing the genius that goes into making fashion clothes and fashion accessories . Fashion is about dedication and persistence to your craft, which she shows. I like seeing someone dedicated to something they love. Plus, it’s nice to look at. We see she still loves and appreciates the pets, as well as the pets do to her. She’s still her same old self in that regard, but she also shows something that really stands out in this particular episode. She’s dealing with confidence issues. With the pressure to make a good first impression for the judges, the pressure to save Littlest Pet Shop, as well as stopping the Biskits, that’s a lot to do. It’s quite admirable to see Blythe suffering from confidence issues and overcoming it. She’s relatable in that sense. She’s also very smart and perceptive, as she was able to think of a way to foil the Biskit twins in the second half.

The pets were also written well. They supported and helped Blythe when she was in doubt, and we see that development in their relationship. We also see Russell going through the same thing Blythe is when he’s asked to model for Tres Blasé magazine since he’s usually a behind the scenes guy. There’s also a guest pet in this episode, a cat named Delilah. She’s certainly an interesting character. She had a great song, great funny moments, and helped out Blythe in the second half, even if it wasn’t that much. Also,Sunil gushing over her was very funny. Sepper shippers will have a field day with this. The interactions among the pets were also great. Once more, we get to see Zoe having to deal with jealousy of not being in the spotlight when someone else is. However, she controlled it better here than in one of my favorite episodes, “What Meme Worry?”, in that she actually tries to help Russell out with the modeling. There were also some funny moments with Minka, like when she went crazy in the secret compartment in the kiosk. Seeing Sunil and Vinnie’s little subplot to find Blythe and tell her what the Biskits did made for some great character moments.

The Biskits were also written well. Despite the fact that they’re trying to bring down Blythe, they actually almost succeed, in that they really planned ahead. They had a carefully crafted plan, stayed one step ahead of Blythe, and were ready to defend. Many things they did, like slashing the tires of the Littlest Pet Shuttle or taking Blythe’s kiosk by scheduling a fake photo shoot was really smart. Their downfall was done well in that theydidn’t know the pets were in the kiosk, and that they were exposed by Blythe and Francois. Although Fisher didn’t appear, he still played a major role by being the one to come up with the threat.

Blythe’s friends were okay in this episode. Sue and Jasper didn’t do much other than support Blythe. At least they still supported her. Youngmee and Emma however are a bit different. I have been wanting to see these two interact, and I finally got my wish. They helped move the plot by complimenting Blythe’s designs in her room, and helping to decide which pet would model for the photo shoot. That’s something. Right?

Francois also played an important role in this special. It’s been hinted at times that he doesn’t like working for the Biskits because they are not morally sound, but still puts up with them to live up to the butler code. However, seeing him confess their crime, and his involvementis really bold, since it shows that he will do the right thing when need be. It was kind of sad to see him get fired, but at least he got hired by Mona, I’m assuming.

I can’t say much about Roger. He only appeared at the end of part 2. But, it was still nice to see him take time out to support Blythe.

I can’t say much for Mrs. Twombly either. I thought she was a little pushy in getting Blythe to help save the shop, but it was mostly in the dream. However, she was still written well, considering the circumstances she’s dealing with. She still helps Blythe by giving her a doorknob to act as a trailer hitch when Blythe’s trailer hitch was stolen by the Biskits, and the tires to the Littlest Pet Shuttle were slashed. I kind of wish she was at the expo, but she’s still cool.

Finally, we have Mona Autumn. She’s still the same person she was from “Alligators and Handbags”, but more toned down. While she still takes no guff from anyone, and expects clients to be at their best, she doesn’t freak out and gave Blythe the ribbon when she proved her worth.

Technicals:
Like any Littlest Pet Shop episodes, it’s well animated. The lighting and shading effects were done well, mostly in songs and dreams sequences. The outfits were great to look at. The human and pet characters move smoothly and naturally. As for music, it’s top of the crop. The background music was used well from Blythe’s dream sequences to the cliffhanger in part 1 and the happy ending in part 2. As for songs, they’re great too. The first song is “All Around the World”, sung by Delilah. It’s really good. I wasn’t fond of it at first, but it grew on me. It shows what the Expo is like (which is good since the second half is about the conflict at the expo), it’s sung well, and it’s well animated. The second song is “You Can Do Anything” sung by the pets. This is where the moral comes into play. It’s very catchy, uplifting, it has great animation with the moving dresses and the flashbacks. It’s filled with all sorts of continuity, and the moral resonates with people of all ages.

Entertainment:
This special is filled with tons of humor and heart. Let’s start with humor. There’s a lot of really good humor. For example, we have Blythe’s first dream where she’s in pajamas and her friends are holding watermelons. Apparently, she’s had that dream for who knows how long. Sunil gushing over Delilah also made for some fun comedy. There was also more subdued humor, like when the pets picked out names from a hat, and it was Russell’s name, or when Youngmee heard Vinnie’s voice on the speaker, but she didn’t know it was him since she heard a chirping gecko. There was also plenty of heart. Over the course of two seasons, we’ve seen Blythe and the pets’ relationship with each other develop. It went from love and friendship to genuine care for each other. I was certainly invested in the episode because of that. We could feel for Blythe and Russell going through similar situations because we’ve done so at some point in our lives. Like “Magical Mystery Cure” from My Little Pony, we feel proud of Blythe for everything she’s accomplished.

Moral/Message:
The message for this episode is a really good one. At some point in our lives, we’veall been thrust into some major event where we feel underconfident, or even down on ourselves. However, you are able to overcome it with good friends and family by your side, and Blythe and the pets have shown it well. Whether you’ve been with the show since the beginning or are just starting to get into it, you can’t deny that the relationship presented here was done very well and veryrealistically. Pardon me for being cheesy, but the emotions are real. The interactions are real. The support for one another is real.

Okay, time to recap. The story is well thought, well paced, and well executed. The characters are in character and utilized well.Music and animation remain impressive. The episode had plenty of comedy and heartwarming moments. The moral resonates with everyone very well. There were a few problems, like with Roger’s little screen time, Mrs. Twombly being a little pushy, and the Biskits being bad . But, it didn’t detract from the overall story. That’s why I am proud to award the “Expo Factor” a perfect score of 10/10. Consider this episode to be on the high end of my top 13 favorite episodes of season 2 and in my top 5 episodes of the series. Now, we wait for season 3 in the fall to see what’s in store for the show. I’m positive it will turn out well. I’m Sweet Shop 209, and I will catch you on the flip side.

That was a pretty good review - and soon... I need to write my own... After I've seen the episode again.

I know people around here don't care much about the human characters, but I have to say. Season 3, Emma for Blythe's second best human friend, she has done more for Blythe and some what of a personality, more so than Sue. If Sue just disappeared, I would sheed no tears.

I have no real problems with the humans that aren't those stupid twins... But I think that is something I can agree with you on tenfold after watching this finale and episodes before it, despite any SMALL gripes I may or may not have with anyone who isn't those twins.

In short - you're not alone.

I think Sue can still do something worthwhile, but I will agree that a group dynamic of Blythe, Youngmee, and Emma is one I really want to happen and hope happens.

These are my Season 2 tiers for LPS, in no particular order: And with it, my opinion on this season finale (Hint: Mid - High Tier at best, IMHO. I think this finale laid on Blythe's drama a bit too thickly. That, and those stupid twins almost got away with their usual bullying of someone they're trying to be friends with, according to others, which I don't believe for a minute.

Still, a far better two - part conflict than the one for the Series premiere ever was! IT actually had meaning and was properly built up throughout the season. Don't forget the pets being their usual likable selves, either. Definitely DON'T forget that!)

God Tier (for effective use and developments with the show's BEST aspects in general!)

Sunil's Sick Day
Eight Arms to Hold You
So Interesting

High Tier
What, Meme Worry? (I liked how it handled the pets in the given subject matter, as much as I'm sure people want to punch Zoe, otherwise.)

Alligators And Handbags (for ACTUALLY handling its bullies well, as difficult as that can otherwise be to watch on this, or any show.)

Super Sunil (Sugar Sprinkles being back was a nice touch, for one thing.)

Sweet Pepper (for Actually handling the "crush" episode better than MLP did with theirs... Simple Ways STINKS.)

Blythe's Big Idea (I know a lot of people don't like Blythe - I'm NOT one of them (She's actually one of my favorite females in animation right now - just not as good as some others, on this channel, for example.) especially if she is being her productive self... I can understand the complaints when it's anything involving school. Those parts are boring.)

Standup Stinker (both Pepper and Minka had it great here... That, and I wish people would stop calling Blythe a Mary - Sue. ESPECIALLY after this one, indefinitely.)

Mid - High Tier
The Expo Factor
(both parts) (I can some people hating these two; I'm just all too happy that Blythe's
productiveness meant something in the end. Delilah, like Sugar Sprinkles and Madame Pom needs to be in another episode, provided a good reason, of course - the main pets need to continue to get development going forward!)

Hedgehog in A Plastic Bubble
(despite Blythe's stupidity - we've all acted like this at some point. More than we like to admit... Making it easy enough for me to warm up to this one.)

Pawlm Reading
(I liked that Blythe wasn't gullible with the whole "psychic" nonsense, unlike Twombly, unfortunately.)

The Treasure of Henrietta Twombly (Kind of on the fence here, but Twombly, like in Pawlm Reading, shouldn't have been so gullible.)

To Paris With Zoe (Not as good as Sweet Pepper, but Madame Pom was a treat to see.)

The Big - Feathered Parade
(I just liked seeing Blythe get a real antagonist for once.)

Plane it on Rio!
(Same as The Big - Feathered Parade, though predictable that the villain would want revenge.)

A Day at The Museum
(The imagine spot should not overtake reality, as entertaining as it is to see.)

Missing Blythe (I feel that F.U.N. needs to get out more - Blythe should've been shown enjoying herself more than that. I did feel genuinely bad for her (thankfully enough. That's hard to do for someone else when you're off at a place you want to be and you're not getting the best of it, BTW.)- and the pets and true friends and family who miss her deeply enough.)

Mid Tier

Heart of Parkness (another good episode for a pet, near ruined by the Biskits.)

Littlest Bigfoot
(Mundane setup, but passable, even enjoyable enough - ruined by the Biskits being there.)

Grounded (I only really enjoyed it for Blythe & Roger. That's it!)

Shanghai HI - Jinks (Penny deserves better if she's going to be the focus.)

Mid - Low Tier
Nah... You either, succeeded or failed this season. Nothing to see here.

Low Tier (aka CURSES to those Biskits ruining things for me as usual!)
Commercial Success (Not a Biskits stinker, but Jasper will be unpopular forever after this... Real shame, once he got his damn act together,
things worked out. Oh, well. Best to ignore this one.)

The Nest Hats Craze! (Blythe should have punched those two idiots.
I know I would have. I'd only watch this for Russel's parts.)

Inside Job (We didn't need a "politics suck" episode in this show. Let's hope we don't see anything worse than this!)

I short, less failures and more God - Tier material than Season 1 had, IMHO. But with some of these I can see why people people are mixed - to - negative regarding the season as a whole.

*WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD* This review includes part 2 which hasn't aired in the US yet.

I liked this two-parter. Sunil crushing over Delila was pretty enjoyable to watch and I just love it when the pets have love interests. I hope to see more of this in season 3.

Russell definitely needed to have a spotlight role at least once considering he was always the only one who would be left out of being showcased alongside the other pets so it was refreshing to see this side of him. It was also nice to see Zoe mature out of her jealousy complex over another pet getting attention.

The song in part 2 was really great because not only do all the pets sing, they also show clips from the series. It was interesting but also kinda sad to watch in a way because like Penny82Ling mentioned, it made it feel as if the show was saying goodbye to itself. I dunno about you guys but I'm glad we're getting at least one more season of this show and I do hope it can turn things around enough to generate enough interest to spawn more seasons if it's successful.

What I really liked most, though, was the butler resorting to his better nature and coming clean about everything. It was nice to see a generic character suddenly burst out and reveal some true character development and use this newfound quality to set everything right and put the Biskits in their place. Who cares if he lost his job, this is probably the greatest thing to ever happen to any of the backwater characters in this show.

I agree the Biskits need to stop being antagonists and just have their own plots where they act dumb. I have to disagree about Ramon replacing them, though, he just doesn't make a good villain. If he's already such a successful fashion designer, why does he need to steal from a teenaged girl who's just starting out? And the fact he does the same exact thing in his second appearance really makes him bland. He's also not funny at all. Try another new villain, writers.

Anyway, my verdict on season 2 is while it's not as bad as some people make it out to be, it's moreso tired. What I mean by that is it's more of the same of season 1. That's where I think the real problem is. Season 2 feels like it might as well be lumped with season 1 as one big season and the writers just kinda started getting exhausted with writing it in the later episodes while the fans started getting exhausted with what they've been watching.

Not enough new stuff and whatever attempts they tried either fell flat or were a little too gimmicky. Global travel, while the idea does sound exciting, is not very realistic for a show of this nature because no pet owner would allow a pet daycamp to take their pets all over the world and there's no way it could happen in just one day. If they want the pets to be in new settings and situations, there are better and simpler ways to do that and at the same time sidestep real-world logic by having the pets use their imaginations, like they did in A Day at the Museum, So Interesting and Blythe's Big Idea. This is what works in taking the show in lots of new directions and it's what they need to do more of.

Very well, I'd imagine. It's not like this would be the first inter-species cartoon animal relationship, or even the second. Miss Piggy and Kermit the frog say hi. Interestingly, so far no one has touched upon the potential shipper bait for Penny and Sunil: in part one, Sunil compliments Penny on her cuteness, and in part two, Penny is sitting on 1 of the cushions in Blythe's kiosk and says "It's so soft, just like Sunil's belly.....Did I say that out loud?"

I know people around here don't care much about the human characters, but I have to say. Season 3, Emma for Blythe's second best human friend, she has done more for Blythe and some what of a personality, more so than Sue. If Sue just disappeared, I would sheed no tears.

I haven't heard anyone here on TZ say that they don't care about the human characters. it seems to be the opposite; there usually ends up being more discussions about the human characters on the show than about the pets. I like Emma also, but it's a shame that we haven't seen her mom Stephanie since her 1st appearance on the show (save for 1 brief cameo in "Blythe's Big Idea"). The LPS writers definitely seem to have an aversion to mothers. And why you hatin' on Sue? ;)

I'd also like to see the Biskit Twins become neutral characters rather than perpetual antagonists, but I honestly don't think that Ramon has what it takes to be upgraded to main villain. He's only good for a couple of stories and would soon grow tiresome if we saw him all the time. Also, if Blythe has to have a rival at all, it shouldn't be a grown arse adult. That would just be weird.

On the contrary, one of the reasons why I like LPS more than My Little Pony: FiM is because it has humans in it, and the animals, while able to speak and somewhat anthropomorphised, are still animals.

but I have to say. Season 3, Emma for Blythe's second best human friend, she has done more for Blythe and some what of a personality, more so than Sue. If Sue just disappeared, I would sheed no tears.

Was the swipe at Sue really necessary? I read these snippets of haterade that people have towards some of the human characters on this show, and I just have to shake my head. But yeah, I don't mind seeing Emma again; she's absolutely adorkable.

Personally, I'm of the train of thought that this show doesn't need any major villains, regular or recurring, but I definitely don't think Ramon would fit the bill even if I felt the show needed a regular antagonist. He's just too weak and pathetic a character to be a decent foe; a grown-ass adult routinely scheming against and stealing from a teenage girl? That would be more sad than funny, honestly.

If the show needs a villain, relate to Blythe's abilities, a Denzel Crocker of sort that is obcessed with people can understand animals.

Well, season 2 was made while season 1 was still airing. So, they couldn't take the fans' opinions into considerations. I think season 2 is better than season 1, but that's just me. Anyway, for season 3, they'll probably listen to the fans and create better storylines. Not to say season 2 had any bad story ideas, but with a third season, they could expand more.

Personally, I'm of the train of thought that this show doesn't need any major villains, regular or recurring

It certainly doesn't need a villain every other episode. Conflicts and misfortunes that aren't caused by characters can do just as good of a job at providing a plot as villains. Even then, there have been plenty of characters who have acted as villains throughout this show: the guard, Mona Autumn, the school janitor, Judy Jo Jameson, or even Jasper. They don't have to be "bad" people, just a source of conflict.

If the show needs a villain, relate to Blythe's abilities, a Denzel Crocker of sort that is obcessed with people can understand animals.

That would actually make a very interesting villain, someone who's on to Blythe after becoming suspicious of her ability.

I agree that Season 2 stood out for me as a whole FAR MORE than Season 1 ever did, despite legitimate complaints.

Seeing as I'm still watching, here's hoping Season 3 can step up - or at least listen to some of us if we can reach these guys (too bad they won't listen to us grown adults...).

This just in. Littlest Pet Shop season 3 is coming out on May 31, 2014. Oh my gosh! This is awesome! I can't wait! Yeah!!

Hello everyone. Today, I want to talk about reviews for Littlest Pet Shop. There's a Littlest Pet Shop analyst on Youtube named SunilNation98 who will review season 3 of Littlest Pet Shop. If you want to see reviews for season 3, then I suggest subscribing to him. Thank you.

I mentioned before how they should add a villain like Denzel Crocker that is onto Blythe's abilities, or really could try to gain from it. They could have a villain like that, for anyone that saw All Dog's Go To Heaven (which aired on Hub Network recently), it is possible for evil doers to use someone with such abilities for their own greedy desires.

I could see Blythe put in similar situation, though this time by humans instead of evil mobster dogs.

Personally, I'd rather the show stick to slice-of-life comedic situations and not have to contend with some mustache-twirling villain, but that's just me. The hero VS villain shtick just gets boring to me after a while.

It could just be a matter of personal tastes, or possibly generation; my favorite cartoons growing up were stuff like Looney Tunes, Tex Avery, MGM and the like, and later stuff like Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs, Beetlejuice, Freakazoid!, Space Ghost: Coast to Coast, Barbie: Life in the Dream House, etc. My favorite cartoons are the ones in which the characters just make you laugh at their zany antics; I've never really cared about villains and stuff like that.

This is the kind of show, from all I've (proudly enough) seen of, that I have to agree on Silverstar - unless they can bring in some better writers (on FiM's level, IMHO!), should this show go farther than just 3 seasons and try to have more plots involving someone being a hero to their villain.

But that's a tall order for a crew that could use a bit of remedial lessons going into the next season... Seriously, there's potential for some much better slice of life comedy here than what we've gotten before, provided things aren't rushed,

Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
