This cartoon sounds intriguing. Now, all we have to do is wonder who's designing the show, and which network (Kids' WB! or Cartoon Network) it will air on first.

..yeah this would be Cartoon Network. Clearly. As a fun aside, Kids WB would only option Legion if:

a) They stopped airing Teen Titans
b) They cancelled The Batman

They never carry more than two superhero shows at a time.

If b.t. and Dwayne McDuffie ARE involved I hope they are only producers. I don't want them to spread themselves too thin and have the Justice league franchise suffer because of it. I would REALLY like to see another incartion of Justice League after Justice League Unlimited. Maybe Adventures in the DC Universe or Justice League Beyond.

Still am hoping the Legion show will be in continuity.

i think that means JLU is finishing after season 5

I'd like to beg whoever is listening to bring Terry McGuiness to The Legion of Superheroes as well as a Superboy who wear's a black jacket.


Those are the only two things I ask of this series.

Everyone wants to see Terry again, and I've been wanting a Superboy since I was following the comic book back in the 90's.

I think you could have it both ways, really.

Any Legion of Superheroes show would be set so far into the future that you could leave it ambiguous as to whether or not it was set in DCAU continuity. They could drop a few hints along the way to keep the fans guessing, similar to the way Teen Titans has handled Robin's identity. That might be fun.

Anyhow, I'm excited by this. Legion comics are pretty hit-and-miss with me, but I think there's a really cool concept at the core of the Legion, and their most recent comics series has been really great so far. There's real potential.

The Legion of Super-Heroes usually takes place 1000 years in the future (or the late 30th century, take your pick). Its traditional main tie to the present-day DCU was in that Superboy (Superman as a boy, kids, not the current clone-version) would use his ability to travel through time (via moving at or beyond the speed of light while flying around the Earth---like Flash in the comics) to attend meetings.

The Legion occasionally met Superman (as an adult) via time-travel, and went slightly further than that into the past to visit Superboy in the Smallville of yesteryear on occasion, but usually weren't used much in the present-day DCU at all (though recall one late 70's story where IIRC Batman winds up travelling to their future, and one of the JLA-JSA summer slamfests involved the two teams working with the Legion to stop the Three Demons and LSH foe Mordru the sorceror....).

Granted, the Legion became popular enough to shove the Teen of Steel out of his own comic on two occasions, but I think a show using the old Superboy would be cool (though of course it wouldn't be in continuity with the S:TAS-type shows. Then again, that didn't stop "The Batman" from coming into existence...).

Wow. The Legion isn't the first thing to come to mind for a marketable show, but then again TT didn't seem like it either.

Hmmm......what does the Legion have that could separate it from the rest (unless its a "sequal" series to JLU or a spin-off of either JLU or TT)? The characters have been both adults and kids at different times, and a combination as well, right?

And would there be enough kids who would want to watch this after TT and JLU? How MANY team superheros shows can the kids support? You have a light one with teens and a somewhat more serious one (Not that kids care, they just see a show with Batman, Superman, maybe Wonder Woman, and a million others guys.).

Those are two totally different era's (Batman Beyond and The LSH). Terry doesn't live in the 30th century. The only way he could possibly be involved with that team is if he was stuck in the far future.

This if it gets made would be set so far in the future that continuity doesn't matter because time travel is the only way they would run into anyone from the other shows.

Unfortunately Timm and McDuffie's possible involvement means a end to my favorite superheroes. But we all knew that was coming eventually anyway. I just wish if they were going to do another show that it would be set around the present or Batman Beyonds future.

I don't think it's fair to make any assumptions or comparisons to any existing show at this point. I mean, who says it has to be "like JLU" or "like Teen Titans" or "like The Batman?" It could strike a whole different tone and quality all together. At this point, all I hope for is that it might be better than all three shows combined. Yeah, I'm dreaming big, but why not? Personally, I don't know anything about Legion of Superheroes. It's been ages since I've seen that STAS episode.

Brainiac would be a must as one of the members, Brainiac 5 is a descendant of him in the comics.

The Legion always struck me as being a little bland, in an almost Marvel sort of way.

Hey, Legion, all right! I'm all for any new DC projects that don't involve Batman or Superman, and this is a good choice. If this show is in DCAU style/continuity, woo-hoo! It'd be funny if they went back in time and wound up in Batman Beyond's Gotham.

Who would be the main characters? I want some XS!

Funny that I readed about this right after watching the STAS episode with the LSH in it. Not really sure what to think about this. I really hope JLU will to continue going on instead of a group of superheros with people I never heard of before. So wonder how long it take for Batman to make a cameo. But all we know BT might not be involve in anyway with the show and it can be the next TT or something like that.

Of course, we all know the only reason they're even considering this series is that some executive somewhere is drooling over the possiblity of 25+ new superhero figurines (and assorted accessories) they can use to part young kids from their parents hard-earned money.

I for one agree w/ all that hope this show is in the current DCAU continuity. BUT i only hope that on the condition that Brue Timm or some of the other dcau pioneers are involved. And i'd like them to be involved not merely as 'producers' but on every creative level, like they are w/ JLU. THAT WOULD BE AWESOME.

BUT if they arent involved, then i'd much prefer it be its own show seperate from the greatest media franchise in television history.

I wouldnt worry about that. After all, the dcau creative team was working on batman, superman AND batman beyond all at once, at one point. and the quality of the 3 shows didnt suffer in the least. I'd much rather have them behind the scenes than anyone else, even if there is a small chance it could interfer w/ JLU mainly because i think thats not likely to happen since they've proven they can juggle many projects at once and still produce the finest cartoons in the history of the medium. maybe its the pressure, and they are able to just explode all their creative juices outward, cause it seems to work for them.

Ways to tie it into the DCAU would be to have the 3 legioners we saw in the stas ep "New kids in town". Another would be to include villians that could still be around in the 30th century. Brainiac obviously, Vandel Savage perhaps, maybe even a royal flush gang (decendents of the BB team, not the ones from wild cards). peace.

30th century teenage superheroes who all have a special ability and who all come from different planets. They were inspired to become heroes by the tales of the legendary Superman.

Cosmic Boy - magnetic powers
Saturn Girl - Mental powers
Lightning Lad - lightning powers
Chameleon Boy - shapechanging powers
Lightning Lass - lightning powers
Invisable Kid - can turn invisable
Dream Girl - precognative powers
Polar Boy - Ice powers
Ultra boy - basically has Superman powers but can only use one power at a time
Sun Boy - fire powers
Braniac 5 - super genius
Shrinking Violet - shrinking powers

and thats just some of the members.

No see, I've heard b.t. say on MORE than one occassion That JL is MUCH harder to make than TNBA, STAS, or BB. He said that was the reason he wasn't involved in the MOTB DTV. I sincerely doubt he's changed his tune so much that he feels he could reasonably juggle TWO team shows much less a team show and a single hero show.

I want producers I KNOW I can trust like Alan Burnett or Glen Murikami but NOT b.t. or Dwayne McDuffie as that would almost CERTAINLY mean the end of Justice League.

I would say the involvment of those two on a LSH series would almost certainly spell the end of The League.
