30th century teenage superheroes who all have a special ability and who all come from different planets. They were inspired to become heroes by the tales of the legendary Superman.

Cosmic Boy - magnetic powers
Saturn Girl - Mental powers
Lightning Lad - lightning powers
Chameleon Boy - shapechanging powers
Lightning Lass - lightning powers
Invisable Kid - can turn invisable
Dream Girl - precognative powers
Polar Boy - Ice powers
Ultra boy - basically has Superman powers but can only use one power at a time
Sun Boy - fire powers
Braniac 5 - super genius
Shrinking Violet - shrinking powers

and thats just some of the members.

It depends on the direction that they go in. The Teen Titans series doesnt feel anything like the 80's team that they are supposedly based on and the personalities are slightly different so LSH may go that route as well. From what I have seen the source material is pretty convoluted. Lots of time travel and time being altered lots of serious stories.

I want producers I KNOW I can trust like Alan Burnett or Glen Murikami but NOT b.t. or Dwayne McDuffie as that would almost CERTAINLY mean the end of Justice League.

I didn't think you'd still trust those guys, because they're executive producing The Batman right now... (or, you could do as I do and blame it on Kids WB! who wants a dumbed down show and that if the writers and producers of the batman really had their way it would be much better on a consistent basis.)

Those are two totally different era's (Batman Beyond and The LSH). Terry doesn't live in the 30th century. The only way he could possibly be involved with that team is if he was stuck in the far future.

This if it gets made would be set so far in the future that continuity doesn't matter because time travel is the only way they would run into anyone from the other shows.

Unfortunately Timm and McDuffie's possible involvement means a end to my favorite superheroes. But we all knew that was coming eventually anyway. I just wish if they were going to do another show that it would be set around the present or Batman Beyonds future.

I'd be more than fine with whatever convoluted excuse the came up with. A Superboy clone kept in suspended animation and Terry in the future is fine by me, so long as we get the to see at least some DCU Animated All Stars alongside the new heroes.

I've been wanted to see Superboy animated since I saw him in the 90's and we've all been dying for more Batman Beyond Terry since we saw a last glimpse of him in JLU.

I'm looking forward to it. Timm has yet to let us down.

it's not completely alien to the bruce
timm style (apparently i'm a "timmitator"),
but it's definitely different, both in style
and in costume/character designs,
than the legion stuff he did in earlier
DCU cartoons.

The more I think about it, this is probably the DC animated series Allan Heinberg was talking about developing for Cartoon Network. As I mentioned in an earlier post, he had mentioned that he was working on a DC animated show for Cartoon Network in some interviews.

I don't trust them because of The Batman. I trust them because of Static Shock and Teen Titans.

Personally? I'd rather this Legion show be as bad as The Batman if it meant more Justice League.

I've never had that much interest in The Legion, but if it's good, I'll give it a shot. I just hope it's allowed to stand on its own two feet, and that the art isn't the same ol' thing.

In the original comics, of course, Superman (as Superboy) *was* a member (via time-travel on his part to attend their future meetings), though the reason for forming was still as an homage to Supes, of course.

Current comics, it's the "inspired by legends of Superman" (and I think, recently expanded to "legends of the 21st century superheroes in general") deal thanks to continuity mangling of the post-Crisis years not being kind at all to the LSH (that, and low sales I guess...).

(Yes, I know they probably won't use the Superman-as-a-boy version of Superboy if they threw him into such a show. But a guy can dream, can't he? ).

I would think that the biggest challenge of a Legion show would be presenting a future that was actually futuristic, given that a lot of the current and previous animated DC series already take place in futuristic looking settings. The JLU and the Titans think nothing of taking off across the galaxy, and they interact with aliens and fantastic technology in almost every episode...

True for the *superheroes*, but the average Earthling (or "Terran", if you prefer) like Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen,etc. is stuck using the same PCs, cell phones, TV sets, etc. that we use (the occasional instance of, say, the "Daily Planet" staffers having an adventure with Superman or Jimmy's "hypersonic" signal-watch aside).

JIMMY: "Jeepers, Mr. Kent, think we'll ever get to travel across space the way the JL does, or have little robot-thingies following us around like the way Booster Gold does?"

CLARK: "Maybe in about a few centuries from now, Jimmy."

JIMMY: "Darn... oh, well, back to watching 'Star Trek' on my 13" black-and-white TV... maybe someday I'll afford a 20" color set if Mr. White gives me that raise."

With the Legion, not only does Earth have kewl futuretech everywhere (that in theory should make Batman Beyond's look like the "Flintstones"), but also a few societal changes (aliens living openly on Earth, super-dupers who fight crime don't have a need for secret identities, a single global government called "Earthgov" IIRC, and also Earth becoming [in the traditional LSH stories anyway] a much better place [poverty mostly eradicated, no war, etc.]). So I don't think the Legion cartoon would have a problem looking like a vastly different setting than the current-day DCAU Earth...

Yay! Let's hope we get a HUGE cast of characters and a JLU/Gotham Knights/ Metropolis Marvels crossover. Maybe for once we'll get a decent romance with Garth (Lightning Lad) and Imra (Saturn Girl)

That's "Mon-El". (At least as far as I'm concerned. )
