"Marvel's Ant-Man" Feature Pre-Release Discussion (Spoilers)

I'm fully expecting we'll see a Wasp in the MCU, either in an Ant-man sequel or (if the film doesn't prove successful enough to warrant a sequel) in a future Avengers movie. Especially considering Whedon tried to get her into the first Avengers but had to cut her, so there was obviously early intention of debuting her in the MCU.

The only issue is that it seems that, as a byproduct of aging Hank and focusing on Scott as Ant-Man, they've killed off or removed Janet in favor of Hope becoming MCU Wasp. Beyond the Pym/Lang issue which I've pretty much gotten over at this point, that irritates and disappoints me the most. Especially for a character that's a founding Avenger and one of Marvel's first female Superheroes .

Since the Cold War era of S.H.I.E.L.D. is still rather ripe for the picking and largely unknown and based on what is revealed in Ant-Man about Hank and Janet -- I would entertain the idea that they were briefly members of a surveillance squad or something within S.H.I.E.L.D. -- Fury did tell Tony he wasn't the first superhero and while he was initially talking about Cap - it's open ended enough to now include Hank as well, maybe more.
