After making a hit on TBS with his series House of Payne Tyler Perry teams up with TBS again to make a show based of of his 2004 play (and 2008 movie).

Time : Wednesdays @ 10pm after House of Payne

I think the show is good so far it's more like the play (without the singing) than the movie.

P.S. I don't know if there is a thread for this already or not but I looked and didn't see one so I decided to make one myself. If there is already one please merge or lock this one.

I been watching it, the one episodes I could think of is the Family Day episode.

So is this show funnier than House of Payne? I've been avoiding HoP since I couldn't find not one thing good about it besides giving little Rudy from The Cosby Show a job again.

Then maybe you should actually watch it, the show is hillarious and is a well tailored tribute to the glory days of sitcoms. Ridiculous situations, ridculous heart warming moments and the one over the top character. It's awesome.

I saw the video of Meet the Browns at my aunt and uncle's house, and that was more than enough for me. I wish that they made Purrel for the brain so I could un-see it. I'm just going to treat this sitcom like I do everything with Tyler Perry's name attached to it and avoid it like the Plague.

I liked how much the show has changed. Dropping the old folks home plot device and how they've created a very classical series. Is this related to Kim Fields working on it or has she always worked on the show?

Some the old folks marrying off and being presented as slightly younger and able bodied characters reminds me how Curtis us to be CJ's parents and not Calvin's in the pilot episodes of House Of Payne.
I love both shows but I love Browns for feeling so much like a show from the 90s era. You know back when family sitcoms were about families.
