I went to it yesterday. The first Spinal Tap is one of my favorite comedies. The sequel isn't quite as good- the improvising doesn't go in as crazy of directions. But it still had enough laughs that I didn't regret going to it.
Other thoughts:
-The scene had already been spoiled by the teaser after the Fathom Events of the first Spinal Tap, but I enjoyed the dialogue about how they can cement the band's legacy: By having one (or more) band members die on stage.
-Loved the gag about the guitar with a tiny cheese grater (and cheese!) built in.
-Didi revealed to be a lesbian after being hit on... kind of a predictable moment.
-Paul McCartney was kinda wasted in his cameo, TBH. Nothing really funny happens to him or said by him.
-Simon was a great foil for the band, and loved his bit about how he can't comprehend music. "Name a tune." "Happy Birthday to You". "Can't sing it. Name another one." Also loved how he walked out on the band before they performed. What a D.
-Enjoyed the running gag of the haunted house tour group always coming through the house.
-John Michael Higgins killed as the aerobics instructor trying to get the band into shape.
-Stonehenge is finally built the right scale, but as expected, something goes wrong anyway. I won't give it away but it's pretty satisfying.
