MeTV Toons - Network TALKBACK & Discussion Thread

I wonder how far the Wild Brain stuff would go? Would be fun to see the Littles on there, and of course, "The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show".

MeTV Toons get several millennial shows like The Mask: Animated Series, Captain Planet and the Planeteers, 2 Stupid Dogs and Beetlejuice (TV series), and few zoomer shows like Krypto the Superdog.
I think Krypto's in to satisfy the E/I requirements, but yeah, shows from the 90s (all of those are from the last real era of Saturday morning TV) and some 2000s shows will make the cut, but I'm sure there's going to be a cutoff point, much like MeTV itself. I feel they're more apt to put in shows connected to other properties than those that are not. It is nice seeing Xiaolin Showdown airing on the channel.
As for reason, I mentioned Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball and Ranma ½ are possibility if Weigel has option to add those shows in near future. I would like to see Fist of the North Star on linear TV lol.
Right now, the only version of DBZ that will likely be accessible is the reedited Dragon Ball Z Kai, and the only version of Sailor Moon is the recent redub, which is why you're about to see both on Toonami Rewind on Adult Swim on Friday afternoons starting this week. You're not going to see the '90s versions of either show on TV any time soon.

As for Ranma 1/2? Don't hold your breath on that one. As much nudity is on that show, I can't see it coming on broadcast television unless it was edited.

And Fist of the North Star? Yeah, I wanna see that one too.

They do have Inspector Gadget, so I think DiC/Wildbrain's library may be pretty accessible to the channel. Wouldn't mind seeing The Littles, Heathcliff, Ulysses 31, COPS, heck, even The Mysterious Cities of Gold. I hope they regained full distribution rights to Dennis the Menace because that show needs to be seen again.

heck, even The Mysterious Cities of Gold.
Does WildBrain actually own the rights to that one? Unless I missed something, it seems the newer seasons were done without their involvement. I'm also not seeing DIC or Cookie Jar listed on the DVD for the first season.

Who do I ask to get this channel in my area?

Also, another suggestion, and this is a long shot, but do what TV Land used to do and air "retromercials". Now, getting the rights to old commercials from existing brands may be hard, but maybe they could air toy commercials from the shows airing here that had a toy line (as long as they can get a deal with the toy companies).
That would unfortunately be illegal. The fall of KidsClick happened in part because they violated the fcc guideline against airing commercials for Hot Wheels toy cars during a Hot Wheels cartoon.

Man, it's always Hot Wheels

I stand corrected. I see it's currently licensed by this British company called Fabulous Films. They also handle the newer series (which has still weirdly not aired in North America, plus "Season 4" hasn't been dubbed to English at all) as well.

I think something like Astro Boy, Gigantor, Kimba the White Lion, Voltron, and maybe Star Blazers and Robotech could easily fit on the lineup,
Yeah, I would like to Astro Boy coming to MeTV Toons

YO! I WOULD LOVE THAT!

But then again, MeTV did aired the Snoopy Come Home and A Boy Named Charlie Brown movies, so why not?

Hell, air the freaking specials if you have to! (I know, not gonna happen, but let the man dream, dang it)

That would be awesome. Dennis the Menace needs some more love.

For me, the only show that I love to see being aired on MeTV Toons, and it's something very unorthodox.

Why not Sabrina The Animated Series? I mean, Wildbrain own the show, and the classic Sabrina character is part of the Archie franchise, so that won't be too out of the norm. Heck, you can air the Archie cartoon series. That would be cool.

Or heck if not that, how about the Classic Mr Men shorts? That would be awesome.

But, besides that, I'm still picking out the most obvious ones: Tiny Toons, Animaniacs, Pinky and The Brain, Batman the Animated Series, Superman the Animated Series, Swat Kats, Space Ghost Classic, Mucha Lucha, Pink Panther, and I still want to see Mike, Lu, and Og, KND and Sheep in the Big City, whatever y'all like it or not lol

Hopefully the channel does well.
I Also hope that Boston gets it on either WSBK or WLVI because many people in Boston remember seeing many of the cartoons that MeTV Toons is going to offer were on those stations. Also, I wonder if the Sunbow Hasbro Cartoons are going to appear on MeTV Toons

So there are still some unannounced shows hmm?
Yep, Johnny Test is definitely airing
Seasons 1 to 3 only
What makes it more possible is that WildBrain is one of MeToons's partner that also supplies shows hence why Inspector Gadget has been confirmed from the trailer

Maybe, there's a chance Boomerang can air the shows in old print while the upcoming MeTV Toons can air the shows in remastered prints.

Remastered prints should also air on Boomerang no reason not to

WBD never abandoned Boomerang in its life.

Maybe MeTV Toons can be a way for WB and Wildbrain to finally Release the HD Version of Season 1 and 2. (Well, at least if MeTV Toons does show it in 16:9) Also, I wonder if Hasbro is going to talk with MeTV in an effort to make a deal to air the 80s G.I. Joe and Transformers Cartoons on MeTV Toons

Today is my Birthday!
Today marks the 25th Year Anniversary of when Pokémon Crystal was released in North America. To this day, the Johto Games remain my favorite games in the Pokémon Franchise.
Today marks the 15th Year Anniversary of ThunderCats (2011). While I find it unfortunate that the show was canceled before it had a chance to finish its story, I am glad that the show's art director was willing to give fans closure via a podcast interview.
Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
The characters from Netflix's Mating Season apparently were born from the same deeps as the Warner Bros cartoon characters
