Perhaps they were originally planning to make MeTV Toons more than just a linear channel and now they're choosing to focus on their main shebang.

MeTV Toons focusing on just keeping their momentum as a linear TV brand is exactly what they should be doing. By no means are they "petering out", they're doing more stuff and getting more attention all the time.

On one side, there's definitely a good amount of variety in terms of characters and studios (and it's nice to see The Dot and the Line on the list). That said, if there were some fixes to this list that I would make:

• I'd either replace Quiet Please with Mouse Trouble or add that one as a third Tom and Jerry short.
• I'd include a fourth UPA short (my preference, if MeTV has the rights to show it, would be The Telltale Heart, although if not, then Madeline would be the alternative).
• I'd provide some some character representation with the aforementioned Gypsy Life short and Popeye Meets Sindbad the Sailor (seriously, why wasn't that short included in the line-up).

I was told MeTV Toons likes to air PAL speed copies, Underdog being one of them. Just like a bunch of channels to allow more commercials.

Guys, not complaining. I live in Portugal, a country that historically used PAL and I'm used to it. I still remember when one sped-up Rocky and Bullwinkle episode was left in PAL pitch without pitch correction and I got fauxstalgia (the show aired on TVI here when I was a baby)

I believe it is only because that was the copies that were provided considering they are subject to Children's Programming Commercial limits.

This could be an annual thing like Black and White Friday, so more shorts could be added next year.

Since they have an ongoing deal with Paramount, it'd be nice to see the Oscar-nominated Puppetoons, like George Pal's two Dr. Seuss adaptations and Tubby the Tuba.

"MeTV Toons Airing Academy Award Winning and Nominated Shorts During “Tinseltown Toons” Block"​

"MeTV Toons has announced a special edition of their Cartoon All-Stars block, scheduled for Saturday March 14. Called “Tinseltown Toons”, the event will air Academy Award winning (or only nominated) animated shorts, for three hours starting at 8:00 p.m. P | 7:00 p.m. C.. Taking into account their library includes cartoons from Looney Tunes, MGM, UPA, and Universal, there will be plenty of animated classics to watch.

The date was also picked to take place just before this year’s Academy Awards ceremony, on on March 15. Perhaps in a few years the winning (and nominated) animated shorts from the recent ceremonies will also be considered classics and “old enough” to show up on the network."

Hopefully Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog is next to replacing The Underdog Show's 8:30 AM, so there will be Mario & Sonic hour show.

This got posted in one of my discords. I have no idea of the veracity of it, but if it's true, it would certainly be fitting and well-timed.

Good for Mario fans, but I don't like the fact that this is replacing Beetlejuice (which has almost 100 episodes). I'll rather they keep both Beetlejuice and Mario in the morning and downsize House of Hanna-Barbera to an hour (or get rid of Bugs Bunny's morning hour entirely but that's an unlikely scenario considering it's the most popular show on the channel).

I would've done something like this:

8:00am - The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!
8:30am - Beetlejuice
9:00am - The Underdog Show
9:30am - a different show (preferably The Smurfs since that has over 200 episodes)
10:00am - Bugs Bunny and Friends
11:00am - Casper and Company
12:00pm - House of Hanna-Barbera
1:00pm - Popeye and Pals

Wouldn't hurt to add a bit more variety.

Considering they aired sonics Christmas blast 2 years in a row it's inevitable they would eventually get the sonic shows. Hopefully satam and underground will also be in rotation as well(similar to how they can rotate in Mario 3 and world seasons once the super show finishes a run or two like how they do various Scooby doo shows). Also they had better use the snooping as usual line in the promo. The memes that came from both the Mario and sonic shows are as much a YouTube poop staple as the cdi cutscenes.
