MeTV Toons - Network TALKBACK & Discussion Thread

The big questions in terms of the Super Mario Bros. Super Show airing:

1. Which version: the original or Club Mario?
2. Will this include the Legend of Zelda segments (if so, there needs to be an ad featuring the "Well EXCUUUUUUUUSE ME, Princess" line)?

Time will tell, depends on whatever prints Wildbrain got

They should also air Captain N: The Game Master. The first 2 seasons arent streaming anywhere (season 3 is attached to the streaming episodes of Super Mario World) so it would be a good companion piece. Ditto Sonic (preferrably SatAM, though Adventures might fit better as a companion to Super Show).

Oh, don't worry. It will most likely be the original version...though I wouldn't be surprised if it was the current DVD version (the version available on streaming), which uses the Club Mario version of "The Unzappables" (this would also mean that the pop song covers are left out).

As for Zelda, I personally think it will most likely leave those out, but I'm just speculating. If they were left out, this would probably mean that the previews would be left out as well. Not only that, but if it was to be shown this way, it's most likely that the episodes would be shown in production order.

In any case, everyone will just have to wait and see.

Someone on Reddit checked. We are indeed getting the Zelda segments.

Apparently we are get all 3 marios cartoons. I wish they would air King Koopas Kool Kartoons to help find it's lost media, just like with metv toons iring the lost media of wacky world of tex avery.

3 Mario cartoon shows are available on streaming for long time since King Koopa's Kool Kartoons is unavailable for streaming.

Not sure about reason for unavailable. I remember 3 cartoon shows but King Koopa's Kool Kartoons wasn't until I came to here.

From what I understand king koopas kool cartoons was more of a wraparound show then I program in its own right(think slime time live on nick in the late 90s or early 2000s)so it might be more complicated to air today considering the show was wrapped around various cartoons(according to a leaked clip one shows played was Muppet babies which is notorious for its copyright quagmires due to all the live action stock footage from various tv shows and movies featured)

The time will come for Mama Luigi on MeTV Toons to be canon

Don't know if it was mentioned here, but it's been confirmed that The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World will air on MeTV Toons sometime later. Here's the link:

I wouldn't be surprised if they were to do the same thing with Scooby-Doo and air them one after the other (i.e., "...Super Show", then "...3", then "...World"). Of course, this means they'll also be showing season 3 of Captain N: The Game Master, since that was combined with "...World" to make one show...

Seems to be the idea. With Yogi Bear in the early months of the channel, it was the same thing.

Unlike the dic sonic trilogy the Mario 3 and world shows take place in the same continuity as the super show so you technically wouldn't be wrong in thinking those two shows are seasons 2 and 3 of the Mario super show thus it makes sense to air the later two shows after super show finishes it's run. Plus I remember some syndication packages in the 90s often bundled Mario 3 and/or world episodes with the super show(I remember the family channel mostly played super and world episodes in the year or so before it became fox family while usas cartoon express had all 3 under the Mario all stars title)

I'm still waiting for the 90s Sonic shows. SatAM could fit in on Saturdays with all the action shows, AoSTH on weekdays.

I actually want a block of video game-inspired cartoons called "The Arcade", which I've mentioned before.

Pokemon (at least the Ash era) would be perfect for not only that block, but having a spot on the schedule all 7 days of the week. Pokemon should also air on the main MeTV as well as Heroes & Icons.

The Kirby anime would also be good for The Arcade.

Well, wishing is easy, but getting it come true takes time and effort, or maybe there are times where it doesn't come at all.

Pokemon and Kirby would be tough because Nintendo/HAL/Pokemon Company directly owns those, and they are very, very particular about who they license to.

But stuff like the DIC Sonic cartoons, Earthworm Jim, and the Nelvana Donkey Kong Country could be doable.
