Also, I noticed that all Zelda references were removed completely. The show just goes to a commercial break instead.

Surprised to see today's episode of Super Mario Bros. Super Show actually had the DiC logo intact considering all of last week's episodes had a Cookie Jar logo instead.

I'm pretty sure Wildbrain owns that one. When they made their "Fully Charged" series, they acquired the rights to this show at some point, now that "The Summit Media Group" (AKA, 4Kids) no longer exists.

I wonder what happened to some 4Kids shows. Maybe they had locked rights. All I know is that Sonic X had its former 4Kids prints handed over directly to TMS.

In the case of Sonic X, the remainder of 4Kids Contract was sold to Saban in 2012 until those rights expired and reverted back to TMS.

Weigel doesn't really like to deal with shows from the last twenty years anyway.

Exceptions are rare and are usually just whatever gets bundled within syndication pacakges, like that Callou special.

If it's not in WB or Wildbrain's syndication bibles, its probability of showing up falls off a cliff.

True, they can easily get the three dic sonic shows(aosth, satam, and underground) because wild brain owns syndication rights to those but if they want to get sonic x they would literally have to ask sega themselves considering they own tms(who animated sonic x). But yet again that short lived kidsclick block briefly acquired the syndication rights to sonic x right before they decided to kill that block and never got the chance to air it

I think the Ruby-Spears Mega Man cartoon is actually owned by Toei, since Toei's animation studio was involved in the Upon a Star OVA.

A distinct impossibility since Ashi Productions actually animated the show (they're listed as co-producers, but still). The OVA you refer to is a completely different, unrelated production
