New Marvel Super Hero Project in Development

Apparently Marvel is making another project according to animation Blog

http://animationguildblog.blogspot.ie/2015/08/the-animated-productions-among-us.html

It may sound wacky, but could it be a Squirrel Girl cartoon? There was speculation about that because of trademark news last year from Bleeding Cool and io9. And if you did not know, she is joining The Avengers in the comic book universe. It may add some variety to the Avengers, Spider-man, and Guardians shows on Marvel universe.

I guess if she's popular enough in Ultimate Spider-Man, further projects could be in discussion. At the same time, I don't see Squirrel Girl as a break-out character in USM.

Wacker already alluded to another Marvel show besides Guardians: http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=55040

Other show: http://askwacker.tumblr.com/post/123898339743/1-no-more-content-from-lego-and-marvel-animation

Not Inhumans: http://askwacker.tumblr.com/post/124770906483/since-i-believe-you-stated-the-inhumans-will-have

Edit: I just wanted to confirm we knew this for a while. (http://askwacker.tumblr.com/post/104168534358/we-do-have-some-other-new-shows-cooking-up-like) I'm guessing we'll find out what the show is next year at the earliest. I wouldn't be surprised if it's based on a movie character like Doctor Strange.

I don't want to speculate on what it is, but I really hope its a new TV series.

1º) It has been confirmed that Amadeus Cho will be the new "Totally Awesome Hulk" in the "All-New All Different" Marvel, which I suppose means that we won't stay with the Iron Spider's armour for much time. Also, I believe that could give the info I post about Iron Spider a little credibility. Clearly, there's nothing assured, but I'll say is not impossible to happen.

2º) I'm not sure, but about the "new animated show", I think it's possible it was talking about "Ultimate Spider-Man vs the Sinister 6". I mean, aside of "Hulk and the Agents of SMASH", I don't see any other characters to make an animated show. As long as the Fantastic Four and the X-Men are still restricted, I don't see more material worthy of Marvel Animation.

If you look at the list, USM is listed separately under the Film Roman – Starz productions, alongside The Simpsons. So this "Newer Super Hero project" seems to be something else.

Maybe Ms.Marvel is getting her own spin-off.

That would be interesting, though while I'm a big fan of Kamala I'm not sure there's enough content for her at the moment to build off a cartoon from unless they maybe go in a direction similar to USM where she has team-ups with other heroes and fights random C-Listers.

If I had to hazard a guess, I'd think this would be movie-related to some extant...to push something related to the MCU o_O.

I bet this is the rumored new solo spider-man show that will coincide with the 2017 mcu movie

Looking at outside sources of canon as an indication of what is going to happen in the cartoons rarely pans out. They do draw from the comics but they don't follow them to the extent that a change that was just announced this week is likely to impact the shows. Even Miles Morales and Kamala Khan both took around two years to actually make it to animation.

If we are going with the MCU movies my guess would Dr.Strange And The Mighty Defenders that why you have can Dr.Strange in his cartoon plus his own team, if we are not following the movies my guess would be Power Pack

A Defenders cartoon could be pretty interesting; apart from Doctor Strange they could use it as an excuse to put Hulk in the spotlight again since he's such a "popular" character. And it could potentially mean the return of Namor the Sub-Mariner in animation, which would be alright with me. But I don't know if Marvel would try that if there's the upcoming live-action Defenders mini-series on Netflix which will most likely have a completely different style and cast.

And I don't see them doing a Defenders cartoon based off the Netflix guys since, for one, Luke and Danny are a lot different from how they're likely going to be portrayed in the Netflix shows, and I don't think Daredevil and Jessica are the type of heroes Marvel feels they need to promote to kids o_O.

Though a more classic Defenders cartoon would be interesting. I'm leery of another cartoon where Hulk could be a central focus, but if he's more like himself compared to SMASH and less aggravating compared to Assemble, so basically USM!Hulk, I'd be down with it :).

Doubt we'd see Namor since his rights are still up in the air, but they could definitely use Strange and he's had a prominent role in the MAU so far, and we have had a Silver Surfer appearance...

Could it be another Avengers cartoon? Doesn't season 3 of Assemble have some new creative heads on it? They might be preparing to bring it to a close and try something else.

AA's goal of emulating the movies has kind of become superfluous since the Avengers in the MCU no longer resemble the TV incarnation. Trying something original might be a smarter bet in the future.

Their other upcoming movies, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange and the Inhumans, all currently appear in other shows anyway.

The next cartoon is a Spider-Man show that will mimic the MCU spidey. I am almost certain of it.

I've always liked the idea of a Marvel Super Heroes not tied to one specific brand or property. They could throw in Wolverine, Thing, Squirrel Girl, Silver Surfer or whoever else they wanted, and use any villains they wanted and Marvel would still be the name up front instead of X-Men or FF or any other property they don't own the film rights to. The series' ideas they go with usually turn out to be the last thing I think they should go with so it would probably end up being something like an Ant-Man series.

I'm pretty sure season 3, Ultron Revolution, is the first season that Wacker has been able to have major influence over while the story editors are essentially still the same. I doubt they'd try and do a whole different Avengers cartoon, or even a Spider-Man cartoon, when they seem to be content just rebranding the shows to be closer to the movies or the new directions they're going with.

True, we are going into season 3 with the same basic team as season 1-2, but we're at least getting one of the New Avengers with Vision, while you've already elaborated on why Scarlet Witch probably won't be popping up, and Rhodey's non-existent which probably means no War Machine :(.

We also have Black Panther coming up, and another Civil War, so season 3 seems like it'll be bridging the gap between Phase 2 and Phase 3 elements into the cartoons ;).

But yeah, it would be nice to see Marvel Animation go in a more original direction for their cartoons instead of just wholesale following and referencing the movies :).

The idea of taking the only characters Marvel Animation uses from the franchises that Marvel won't promote in animation because of the movie rights, and putting them into a series together along with Squirrel Girl where they just fight random villains, actually sounds like a great idea :D.

Ant-Man is the only major movie property they have out right now, and while it was a lot more successful than people expected, I don't think it was popular enough to warrant a solo Ant-Man cartoon. It definitely wasn't Guardians successful .

Though an Ant-Man cartoon would be interesting if only because then we'd likely see Pym in animation, and some incarnation of Wasp. But, as much as I like him on Assemble, I don't think Scott's a compelling enough character to hold his own series, so I don't expect we'll be seeing him get the chance anytime soon.

I've been saying it for years but a Spiderman Brave and the Bold where Spiderman teams up with a hero be they popular or obscure against a villain is something that would be so awesome to see.

Gosh, now you all have me on Netflix watching Batman Brave and the Bold.

Find it hard to beleive how this upcoming set has more than one normally-considered "politically incorrect" cartoon in new restoration form..

I'm not Canadian but I'm kind of upset that Teletoon became Cartoon Network Canada.
It's official: I have now preordered GTA VI for PlayStation 5; the more expensive and feature-complete Ultimate Edition of the game, that is. I also intend to buy a PS5 Slim optical drive next month (EDIT: Done!) in the hopes of maybe indirectly convincing SIE to reverse its controversial plans to go all-digital on all post–Jan 2028 PS console games, even though GTA VI is a digital-only game.
Happy anniversary to "SpongeBob's Big Birthday Blowout".
