Mr. Garrison goes to great lengths to get what he’s always wanted…a sex change. As he enjoys his new womanly attributes, the rest of the town gets in touch with their inner feelings too. Meanwhile, Kyle wrestles with the fact that Jews just aren’t good at basketball.
Let Season 9 begin!

....wow....dolphinplasty, negroplasty..."adds to the dictionary of stupid words"

What the hell happened to this show?

:eek::confused::ack::sweat::o

^----- That about sums up my expression for this episode.

Eh

Dolphin stuff was the highlight, Garrison as woman was funny for awhile (got a bit repetitive).

Nothing too special.

I'd figure something like this would happen.

Does this mean Garrison won't live with anyone anymore? Not even Mr. Hat?

I cant take it anymore I just cant

I've finnaly found something I would never show my kids(if I had any) I mean come on There HAS TO BE SOME LINE they wont cross

...why would you show your kids South Park? You'd be a horrible parent.

Well, to me, it felt like they were mellowing out the past season content-wise, post "It hits the fan." This brings it right back to the old, raunchy as hell South Park from the old days. Not a bad thing, but a stark contrast to the newer ones.

That was absolutely hilarious. Of course, I also liked it how the creators have exactly the same opinion of transgendered people as I do. I'm very accepting of people. I don't care if someones gay, I don't care if they crossdress. But, mutilating your genitals and then claiming that it's a natural thing to do...well, that's just wrong. Of course, I find plastic surgery in general wrong. Stupid people thinking that changing the outside is going to help make them feel better inside...

If i had kids, id show them a porno over this...this is poison even for adults.

I guess you can't say that SP has lost it's ability to shock people. Live action balls slicing footage and Gerald-Dolphin in all, but I was annoyed at this episode for one main reason that annoys me about most new South Park episode: Ignored Continuity.

A lot of Simpsons episodes forget things that happen in the past due to new writers/directors and thinking it would work better for the show. Matt and Trey however have a statement they want to make and make it at no matter what expense of the continuity of the show. This is a prime example.

1. How can you have a Mr. Garrision episode and not feature Mr. Hat? I mean, Mr. Hat was the symbolism of Mr. Garrision's gay nature, of his hatred and bigotry. Surley you would think he would have something to do with Mr. Garrision thinking he should be a woman. But they don't even show him. They could of at least had a visual of female Mr. Hat, but they ignored it. Sure they can have Mr. Slave in it, but it fits they're little plot. Going with Mr. Hat would be working outside the box Matt and Trey placed themselves in.

2. And don't you think if we're bringing up transgenders into this they could of at least mentined Cartman's mom, who supposedley has a penis even though she's a woman? Once again, outside the box thinking for Matt and Trey's mind.

3. Since when did Kyle ever feel like an Africian American anyway? I mean we've seen him play basketball in the past a couple of times I believe, but that still isn't enough for me to believe that he thinks he needs to be black and tall.

I like the episode, but I just wish SP would pay attention to it's continuity. Maybe I'm just a big continuity nut though, but I still think it's a good thing for the series to have.

Favorite Moments: Mr. Garrison trying so hard to be a woman, Cartman dissing Kyle who just agrees with him so Cartman walks off, Gerald's dolphin dream, the basketball animation (looked pretty good for the show), Garrision staying a woman.

GRADE: 3 Stars Out Of 5 Stars.

Mr. Hat HASN'T been on SP since Season 6:confused:

I didn't see this episode, but did just see "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert" the other night (90's flick about three Australian drag queens trekking through the Australian "outback"; one of them was transgendered [with somewhat amusing flashbacks to her childhood as a boy]). Didn't care much for the film though (the three guys got on my nerves part way through... even the buff-looking one ;-) ).

My point? Oh, yeah... I don't have a problem with those wishing for a sex change; those that wish to have it done have very deep reasons for doing so---it's not just mutilating their genitals "for the heck of it" or because they suddenly woke up and decided they felt like being a woman...

Re: "showing this to kids": Since when was this a show suitable for kids in the first place?!

-B.

My first reaction: "Oh, squick." :ack:

This episode was...okay. Not terrible, but not particularly funny besides the "lawphin". I was just starting to warm up to Mr. Slave as Mr. Hat's replacement, and now he's gone too...

2. And don't you think if we're bringing up transgenders into this they could of at least mentined Cartman's mom, who supposedley has a penis even though she's a woman? Once again, outside the box thinking for Matt and Trey's mind.
Mrs. Cartman is/was a hermaphrodite, not transgendered.

True, but they could still have had some joke about her in there. Espically when Mr. Garrision was trying to get an aborition. Oh well, wasted oppurtunity I guess.

Leave it to Trey and Matt to raise the bar AGAIN. Funny stuff.

I was personally both laughing and gasping "HOLY GOD" at the sex change footage at the start, but my brother just sat gawking, and said five minutes later, "No. That wasn't funny. I don't even want to talk about it." And he found the Sex Ed. segment in Drawn Together fine.

Wow.

Meh.

I think they so caught up in making the episode disturbing (which they did quite well) that they forgot to make it funny. Too much shock value for me.

2/5

Hope the rest of the season is better.

I agree with you, but on different things. No Mrs. Cartman didn't bother me, and what Kyle said sort of made sense. It was mostly his love of basketball and disappointment that he couldn't play that made him believe he was black (although Kyle and basketball is brand new to continuity). Plus he does listen to hip hop.

The continuity ignoring I didn't like is Mr. Garrison wanting to be female. I thought the whole reason he was gay was because he didn't like women. He once said he doesn't trust anything that bleeds for five days and doesn't die and now he wants a period? Eh, it didn't work for me.

The episode as a whole did, though. I thought it was funny, especially Gerald as a dolphin. Did anyone else expect the doctor to be someone who had an operation? Like a snowman or a bug or something...I dunno.

The Voyo-exclusive Romanian dub of Garfield and Friends goes on with the second season now being relased. I was afraid they will forget about the show after only one season.

As someone who's Portuguese, it just bugs me again that we lost. I wanted Portugal to win this time because this is Ronaldo's last, but no, we think Ronaldo has devolved significantly, and we lost against Spain.
