The Major League Baseball season started...uh many days ago... maybe I'll try a baseball thread, because why not?

My MLB team is the Colorado Rockies (I have a high pain tolerance, apparently ) my home state team. I also like a few other teams and not a big fan of some.

It would be fun to talk baseball news, baseball teams, even minor league teams too , why not? Baseball toons or anime, games, etc. Might be fun to see any other members if they are fans of the sport. So yeah.

Also be nice, friendly competition is fine, but don't get mean.

I live in Phoenix so we have the Diamondbacks here, though I've loved the Red Sox for a good while now as well. I prefer when both teams do well.

You could say a you have a favorite AL and NL team. It was fun to see the Diamondbacks make it as far as they did last year. I didn't pick anyone really for that World Series since I would have been fine with any since Rangers getting their first and Diamondbacks had a great trek.

The Astros are off to a horrible start and im a fan of the team haha. It’s funny I say that bc I am a New Yorker. I hate the Yankees. The Mets are alright but they’re a trash bag of a franchise as of late lol

I'm first and foremost a Kansas City Royals fan (though I'm a fan of the St Louis Cardinals as well). Probably because I'm just more used to cheering for the underdog (and the Cardinals have been good for years). My dad used to take me to see both games when I was a kid.

Royals just swept the White Sox. Here's hoping it's the start of a long winning streak!

Cardinals are my second favorite team, that 's my Dad's team and the Royals have my liking in the AL.

Mod Note:

I'm happy to see a baseball thread, but upon further review:

The top of the Cafe forum reads: "Talk about the latest in electronics (such as tablets, smartphones, and so forth), tell us about your hobbies and collectibles - toys, card games (Magic the Gathering, etc.), discuss your favorite novels, your favorite foods, and so much more!"

Whereas the top of the Entertainment forum reads "Engage in conversations about movies, television, home video releases, sports, Hollywood news, and other related topics."

I'm moving this to the Entertainment forum.

I would love for Arizona's players to get healthy soon. They've had a meh start to the season due to getting overloaded with injuries at the worst possible time.

I'm a White Sox fan. I'm just hoping they win 45 games this year, which is starting to look like a longshot.

EDIT: At this rate, I just want them to win more games than get shut out...

EDIT 2: It's April 22, and their roster for today's game has four guys hitting below .200, six guys with OBPs below .300, and five guys with SLG below .300. This is a AA roster, not a MLB ball club. To steal a movie line, there's tanking, there's 50 feet worth of @$%*, and then there's this year's White Sox roster.

About a month in and things are interesting.
The Phillies got City Connect Uniforms , I put them in my ranking, which I still need to reshuffle but other teams are getting some this year, so I am waiting, kind of below the 10 mark, not bad but not pop to me.

My team (the Rockies) are in pain, please help them. Lost the Mexico City series, which was fun to give the highest elevation team in baseball, the home games at a higher elevation than they are place.

I am happy to see the Royals doing well that's a nice change of pace, hope that keeps up. If anything the AL Central and NL Central need to get back into the playoffs again. It's been a bad time , especially with the new playoff type. Guardians are leading the AL Central, but it's pretty tight , except the White Sox.

AL West the Mariners on top, with last year's World Series winners pretty good. A's, as awful as it their ownership did, maybe a nice last hurrah for the fans.

Yankees kind of back on top the AL East, last year was interesting when they didn't go the playoffs at all. Pretty close division right now, though.

NL East, not shocked the top team are the Braves and Phillies again. Uh Marlins, I understand your pain.

My second favorite team, Cardinals, are in last place, but they aren't buried down yet. Cubs are having a nice time, it's neat. Pretty close division, Cardinals only 4.5 games back.

NL West, everyone's having a party together, except the Rockies who are standing in the corner. Maybe the slump starting early, means they can get over it before the mid season and things look up.

More months to go!

The Diamondbacks can't seem to catch a break when it comes to injuries.

Also glad to see the Royals turning things around, but they also won the World Series just nine years ago. For me, there's a 10-year moratorium after winning the World Series for sympathy. :)

As a White Sox fan, I can commiserate with Rockies fans. Eight wins vs. nine shutouts (if I counted correctly). But hey, they won 5 out of their last 9 so maybe 60 wins are within reach...

Those Sunday morning/brunchtime games are coming back after all, this time on Roku Channel for free!
starts Sunday May 19th or Sunday Sunday Sunday !

Royals are #1 right now , or tied, depending on when this is read, in their division.

White Sox already have been statically eliminated last week.

END of the season

  • My team , the Rockies aren't going to playoffs and for the 2nd time in a row, 2nd in their history they've broken the 100 game loss threshold. But better than last year. That as of this writing they'll either stay at 100 only or just 101.
  • Charlie Blackmon from the Rockies is retiring, he's a great player and was with the team his whole 14 year career. I love that a player is that committed to a team. I wish they had gotten him a world series.
  • My 2nd favorite team- the Cardinals- aren't going, kind of strange because they are consistent going to playoff team ,but hopefully they get over the funk.
  • My favorite AL team, the Royals are going, so let's go!
  • I watched the final A's home game (on TV) still think what happened there was disgusting and shouldn't be happening. The ownership of the A's and the commissioner of baseball are a shame. They will be in Sacramento for awhile and there's no conclusive deal in Vegas. A mess for all and shame for fans.

Going to the Playoffs but get a few days off first : AL: Yankees, Guardians (who've had a great season) , NL: Dodgers , Phillies.

Going to the Wildcard Round : AL: Royals, Tigers (both teams in same division as Guardians, Tigers have been on fire) , Astros, and Orioles. N: Brewers, Padres , and currently ... a mess. have to wait for the rest.

Poor White Sox had a miserable season, and gained the 121 loss on Friday. Making a new record. No team will win 100 games this year either.

Mets and Braves have to play a double header Monday. D-backs are in danger.

Man, it's a good time being a fan of Shohei Otani. The numbers he's putting up this season are extraordinary. And he's not even pitching!

For the first time since 2007, neither team who played in the World Series the year before will be in the playoff this year. The Mets and Braves split their double header and that means the D-backs are out. Braves and Mets are in .

It's time for Baseball on ABC again too.

Why are Wild Card games only "Best of 3"? Did it always used to be that way?

Go Royals!

It's time for Baseball on ABC again too.

They should be airing Baseball on the regular networks more often (not just in the playoffs). Monday Night Football has finally started airing on ABC again this year (not just on ESPN). I'm tired of cable channels having too much control over sports broadcasts.

Royals Bros! we did it! Beat the Yankees. Again Royals are my favorite AL team, I wouldn't have minded the Orioles though.

Tigers! I 'm proud of ya! Good work.

Padres have beat the Braves! They are in my team's division, picking them over LA like always.

Brewers made sure there's a game 3, that's the first game 3 since 2022.

The Wild Card series is brand new, they tested in the 2020 year (eek) then made it a real thing in 2022. Before that it was win division you go to the playoffs then the next 2 teams in amount of wins/losses would play each other in 1 AL/NL wildcard game, winner of that would play in the LDS.

FOX is like the last baston of committing to a network over the air broadcast of MLB, they do have some FS1 games, but at least they still do games on FOX for a good chunk, even playoffs and of course the WS.

dmxx116 really likes to wish for people not to return back to so and so because their films didn't do so well. I don't agree with everything he says, though I agree on that Jared Leto shouldn't play Skeletor.
I'm sorry but I disagree with what GRPHX said about the past five films with Daniel Craig as James Bond as well as the choice of Denis Villeneuve as director and Steven Knight as writer in the next film because I really doubt Villeneuve's take will be like the Craig films at all and besides, all of the stuff he mentioned happened before the Craig films such as Licence to Kill.

Hi, welcome to Toonzone

There's something about seeing kids cry after they mess up big time that really gets to me. One can definitely feel bad for Layla.
I don't know I gonna post it but i think I may had spread the disney abandoning blue sky studios like they did with fox kids/jetix propaganda onto awinger24 and now hes fears of paramount & warner bros
