Idk why but I've had the urge to watch all of the old Scooby Doo cartoons. I fired up HBO Max only to find that they got rid of basically everything Scooby Doo. The last time I recall watching Scooby on Max was October 2024 when they brought a lot of stuff back for Halloween. I wasn't naive enough to think stuff like A Pup Named Scooby Doo would still be there, but I was hoping to still see What's New and Mystery Inc. along with a bunch of the movies still there. Their library is down to the last DTV Scooby movie, Scoob, and Velma. 25 years worth of DTV Scooby movies have been completely erased. I was so desperate to watch some of the late 90s renaissance movies, that I bought a few of them on YouTube. And luckily you can still watch Mystery Inc, What's New, and Where Are You on Tubi and Netflix. But anything else, you have to buy it physically or off YouTube.
I feel like the Scooby Doo franchise is a less-discussed victim of the 2022 animation purge at WBD. Whether you love them or hate them, there was a new Scooby Doo DTV movie every year from 1998 to 2023. The last one being the crossover with Krypto. I was shocked to find out WBD canceled a film that had all of its voice acting completed and it's storyboarding done, Scooby Doo: Haunted Highrise. It would've been a new film with the Hex Girls in it. Very pissed about that. It would really suck if Scooby Doo ends getting swept away by all these corporate mergers. I know we still have Yosoko Scooby Doo to look forward too, but it seems like it's being set up to underperform by only being released on Tubi. Hopefully I'm wrong and it succeeds! Shame they are not airing it on American Cartoon Network
