Broadcast Order: Season 22, Episode 12
Production Order: Season 22, Episode 5

Writer: Joel H. Cohen
Director: Mark Kirkland

A new episode airs tonight at 8 PM Eastern. Here is the synopsis:

Homer learns about parenting from a 1980's sitcom.

Everyone in that studio audience is dead now.

Oh, Homer.

The little random credits of famous people that worked on that sitcom is a funny running gag.

I got a laugh out of the CIA, FBI, and ATF jokes.

That brief fantasy Bart had made me laugh.:anime:

Favorite parts: "Everyone in the studio audience is dead now," "Kent's Korrections," "You pledge allegiance to the flag, and the flag is made in China!"

This episode sure had some interesting music too.

This episode was...different, but in a good way... I really enjoyed this one. My second favorite of the season thus far, after "The Fool Monty." 9/10

That James Lipton ending was hilariously creepy.

This ep. was actually not too bad. Homer wasn't as stupid, and it was a Bart/Homer plot once again.

Well, well. We are making progress now. Keep up the good work team, and the simpsons may actually be more tolerable for the next decade.

Heck, this ep. was the funniest episode since "All About Lisa" back in S19.

With the exception of the terrible couch gag, everything was amazingly good for this late in the series. An easy 9/10.

I don't care what the haters say, this was a nice episode tonight and I especially liked the bonding Homer had with Bart.

I'm not sure who you are referring to. I don't think there are any "haters" in this thread (so far) and I gave it a 9/10...

Great episode :anime:
My favorite part is the lasers shooting at Homer XD

And thanks to the writers for having one of those rare non-pun episode titles.

Yes, I complain a bit too much about these. They just irk my bad side!

I mean the haters in general not this thread because there always seems to be someone saying this show needs to end or it's not funny anymore, and I know that's their opinion but the whining just gets annoying.

Really good episode. I rate it 8/10.

'Homer, you're not gonna get anything from that TV Guide'
'We'll see about that! Okay, TV Guide Offers, 1 World Trade Center'

OWCH, just owch

I guess it's finally not too soon for that...

That said, I definitely enjoyed the episode. Wouldn't have been out of place during the 90s.

That was a really good episode. I'll admit it is probably the first, or second episode of The Simpsons I have watched since... I think 2003? I genuinely laughed, especialy at the twenty five year old magazine gag.

Anyone notice the two French guys were the same ones from Season 1?

I was surprised by this one too -- what else has Joel H. Cohen written? He seems much more on the ball than much of the aged Simpsons writing staff.

Weird idea for an episode, yet it was pretty good dispite that I loved a couple of moments in it, felt kind of 80ish actually. Over all a pretty good episode for this season.

Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
