I was a little annoyed because I forced myself to stay up to see how the transition went over and there wasn't any. They called it Toon Disney/Jetix up til the end and then suddenly it was Disney XD as if that were always the case.

I don't really think they thought kids would be awake to see the chiming of a brand new network, especially on a school night.

Networks never really put out farewell banners for a channel or a network block (Toonami and 'The WB Night of Farewells' being the rare exceptions).

Always harp on what's fresh, hip and new -- and make no stink about things that are ending, unless it's something huge, like the final season of a show like ER.

Goodbye, Toon Disney. I already miss what you once were. No more Dave the Barbarian or any reairings of your "classic" series like Ducktales, Hercules: The Animated Series or Goof Troop. The only thing I might tune in for now is Pucca.

To be honest, aside from Z&C, the reruns I find to be viewable, and the new shows look promising.

Plus there's The Spectacular Spider-Man to look forward to.

That would be great, but knowing Disney they'll just start throwing away the classics after the first five years of the network. This is Disney after all, they don't care what viewers think.

If you ask me, ABC Family should become that channel. They're not doing anything decent with it right now. At the very least, the channel could share air time with ABC Family. Disney could always have a Vault Disney Channel during the day, and it could become XYZ at night.

Well... Technically they couldn't. Pat Robertson let Disney buy CBN under a few conditions (for example, the channel must have "Family" in the title, ABC Family must air "The 500 Show", etc.)

That was Brian Donovan?! Well, at least the repetitiveness of that continuity has now retired. R.I.P., Toon Disney.

Farewell Toon Disney, you were an awesome time capsule that held cherished memories of the Disney Afternoon, along with Disney's 1 Saturday Morning (and it's belated sibling, Disney 1 Two), you served your fans well, even though you wer decayed a bit in the last leg of your life (sans 90's Marvel and Power Rangers). Good times...

I feel so old right now. I saw some old Toon Disney commercials on Youtube that included Ducktales, Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers, and the Aladdin tv series. If I had Disney XD right now, the only show I'd be watching would be Static Shock, since I've been a fan of it when it aired on Cartoon Network.
