So any word if there is any interest for Sailor Moon. The original or Crystal, either one?

I'm pretty sure that they've mentioned that Sailor Moon has been one of their most requested shows for awhile. It might have been the original series, but I don't quite recall. Given the choice, I'd still prefer Crystal over the original series to air on Toonami, even though it will take awhile for that show to be dubbed. It's new and it wouldn't be another long running series on the lineup. Toonami does not need another show with over a hundred episodes on its lineup. In any case, I doubt that they have the funds to get either series from Viz right now, so I doubt that getting either series is an option.

Well for 2015, it will definitely be no surprise that Sword Art Online ll would end up airing, even though I really have a huge hate to the series and I think saying that the second season is better than the first will not be saying much. Kill La Kill could also be a possibility. For a Funimation show, I would want to see Tokyo Ghoul to air since I really did enjoyed the series. For a Viz show, the closest I could think of is either Tiger and Bunny or Gargantia, but I guess there could be a possibility that Final Act could have a second run if another Viz show might be expensive. I can't really think of a western cartoon that could air on the block.

Preferably the original. Crystal hasn't been doing so hot, mainly due to the inconsistent animation quality.

If they're going to pick up Crystal in the near future, they should wait on it. Toei is fixing the animation errors for the home video releases. It'd be best if Toonami waits till the series is in a more watchable state.

Crystal would have to be dubbed before Toonami can air it and I don't know when Viz is going to start doing that. I assume that the version Viz will dub will be the home video release version that fixes the animation issues, but considering that Crystal is only through the halfway point, Viz is currently working on redubbing the original series and they could announce another season for Crystal if they want to cover the other arcs from the manga, I don't think that it would be dubbed anytime soon. I wouldn't want the original series on Toonami primarily because of the length. It would be a good way to appeal to nostalgia and it would give the new dub some exposure, but that also means that there's another slot locked up for another few years, which I'm not sure would be worthwhile when Toonami currently has four long-running series on its lineup.

I'm crossing my fingers for Sengoku Basara this year. 25 episodes of awesome over the top action seems like a no-brainer for Toonami. Jourmungand is another show I'd love to see, along with Murder Princess, Devil May Cry, and the first season of Darker Than Black. Although the first of those three may be too short for them to consider.

For Aniplex pickups, Kill la Kill and Magi are the obvious choices. Madoka Magica and Fate/Zero too, if they can somehow resolve the runtime issues.

As for Viz, I think K and Lagrange would fit quite nicely, and neither should be too expensive.

Now, I'm not saying they should take up the entire block, but at least with a long running series, there's no need to scramble to find a new series to air and pay the funding necessary to air it. I don't know how the contracts for the shows work, but it might be slightly cheaper for them to keep running a long series than it would be to pick up multiple short series.

I disagree. I think that too many long running shows on the lineup could cause the lineup to become too stale and they already have three long running series in the first two hours of the block. I think that's plenty in terms of premieres, especially when that's three slots locked up for years. Not to mention the Bleach reruns they have in the later hours. I'm not sure about the prices for long running shows are compared to multiple shorter series. It most likely depends on what specific show, how popular it is and other factors. I wouldn't be surprised if something like Sailor Moon is quite expensive and beyond their budget.

Besides that, most long running series don't really need the exposure that Toonami can give them. Funimation, Viz and Aniplex have shows that don't have over a hundred episodes that they could use more exposure and that could help give Toonami good ratings.

I always wanted to see Kenichi the Mightiest Disciple on Toonami. Other shows I would like to see are Fairy Tail, Ghost in the Shell Arise, & Roberta's Blood Trail. As for movies I would like to see One Piece Strong World & Z, King of Thorn, Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods & Fairy Tail the Phoenix Princess.

I always wanted to see Kenichi the Mightiest Disciple on Toonami.

That would be a good fit for the block. While I never liked the fanservice in that show and the ending was rather lackluster, it was pretty fun for the most part, some funny moments and had some really good action, so I wouldn't mind it seeing it on Toonami either.

I don't know about anyone else but I have high hopes for Assassination Classroom. It could be dubbed by the end of this year, or if FUNi decides to do a simulcast dub for it like Psycho-Pass 2 even sooner. It's also possibly the best series Shonen Jump has come out with in a long time, and I'd like to see it at get to Bleach or Death Note level popularity in the States. (The manga is selling quite well so there's that.)

Toonami may be a bit uneasy about airing it based on the name, but come on, any rational person could tell within watching two minutes of it it's not promoting school violence.

while i would personally like them to air short series over long running ones, at a strictly business standpoint your suggestion is the best course of action. so many channels nowadays have the exact same lineup every week because it means less work and less risk of airing a bunch of new stuff audiences might not be willing to tune into. some of toonami and adult swims longest running anime such dbz, inuyasha, naruto and bleach have been proven to receive consistently great ratings throughout the years. at times even getting better ratings than newer offerings. when you think about it, are most adult swim viewers concerned with the amount of fresh content being aired?

as for possible series airing in 2015 the only one that seems like a guarantee is sao 2. witchblade, speed grapher and gungrave are possibilities since they aired on tv before and probably don't cost that much. if there after any sentai shows besides big o season 1, high school of the dead is pretty popular and i can see the attack on titan audience liking it. i don't think any new viz properties will air but if one does i guess buso renkin since its shone jump title.

the shows i want to see in 2015 but i doubt will air are gantz, guyver and rosario vampire. the deadman wonderland, hellsing and black lagoon crowd might like gantz due to it having the same level of violence and swearing. the superhero crowd might enjoy guyver. rosario vampire is pretty popular and is another shonen jump title.

These are the shows that I would like to see (it could be any of those shows, not all of them):

From Funimation, it would be:
- Psycho-Pass (with the second season already dubbed, they can dive right in when season 1 concludes)
- Sengoku Basara
- Michiko & Hatchin
- Tokyo Ghoul
I would add Terror in Resonance to this list, but I don't think it has enough action in it to be considered.

From Viz, it would be:
- K
- Moribito (I know [as] had aired it before, but I'd like to see it have another shot since it was meant for Toonami in the first place)

From Aniplex, I would say Durarara!! because of season 2, but that probably wouldn't be finished dubbing until next year.

Last, but not least, and I know it's probably not going to happen, but I hope WB can actually work with [as] on an original series for Toonami.

As far as movies go, I'd like to see Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, Evangelion 3.33, Redline (highly doubtful, but possible), and the Psycho-Pass movie (if the dub is ready and they've aired the series by then).

I'm putting all my bets on the new Lupin the Third anime appearing on Toonami in the coming months.

At Youmacon last November, Tony Oliver stated he's working on a simuldub that will be airing on television this year (that's the big red flag there, who else would be airing a simuldub except Toonami?). Tony Oliver was the voice of Lupin in the Pioneer dub that aired on Adult Swim Action, which was a fan-favorite staple of the block in its heyday. Considering he said production was far enough along that they were already recording audio to storyboards in November, it's likely a spring title, and the new Lupin series is a spring title. Funimation (assuming it's Funimation, could be someone else entirely!) is really pushing forward on their simuldub initiative, and like how Space Dandy kicked the whole thing off, getting another simuldub on Toonami, especially a high-profile series, will draw even more attention to what they're doing.

Deadman Wonderland finishes its current run just in time for the start of the spring anime season, so I'm crossing my fingers that Lupin will be the series to replace it.

I wont make any bets, but seeing the new Lupin series would be fun after enjoying the 2nd original series aired a decade ago.

Or they could go for 2/1c, since if Deadman Wonderland is running all the way through, it will coincide with Gurren Lagann's ending (if I'm right, both have 11 episodes left). As far as a Lupin series, I've never been a heavy anime watcher, but I've heard good things about Lupin (and I especially enjoy the character of Jigen). If it does come on there, the question would be to find a series that is compatible with it.

However, I could also see Toonami doing another hour-long series. Whatever the case may be, I'm just hoping that Toonami acquires an anime that brings in more viewers.

The one thing I'm wondering about is the state of reruns. Seeing that Toonami's budget is not much, I wonder if the same reruns will be there throughout the year. If a change does occur, I hope Toonami can either get a classic anime that they didn't previously own or acquire a Western series.
