I've heard generally good things about Michiko and Hatchin, so I think that I'll at least give it a try. I have heard pretty poor ratings for Akame Ga Kill and the reactions here aren't making me more eager to see it. It won't come for another few months, so I might change my mind, but I doubt it. At least they're able to air a Sentai show. Now hopefully they won't get more questions bothering them about whether or not they can work with Sentai and this will open the door to getting more shows from them. I can't think of a particular show from Sentai that I'd want Toonami to air, but I'm not too familiar with their library compared to other companies like Funimation and Viz Media. It looks like I'll still be watching just two shows on the block for the foreseeable future after all.

I checked out the panel during the Q&A session just to see if they would have some interesting answers. There were a few, but I just felt bad with how rude some of the people were with their questions.

Michiko and Hatchin I'm definitely hyped for.

From what I've heard Akame ga Kill is a purposely-stupid bloodbath mess of a show, but I like some stupid anime so I'll give it a shot.

Michiko to Hatchin where everyone has Japanese names when the setting is Brazil, still this is a pretty good pickup and Akame Ga Kill will lead into some funny comments

Looking like a great summer for Toonami! Michiko and Hatchin Premires June 20th and Akame Ga Kill Premires August 8th! I have watch Akame Ga Kill before on Crunchyroll! Haven't seen Michiko and Hatchin before! It sould be interesting on Toonami in the next couple of months!

As far as Sentai aquisitions go, Persona 4 and Chaika would've been much preferable.

I've heard good things about Persona 4, so I would have been much more interested in checking that out. I haven't heard much about Chaika, but the summaries I've heard for it sound interesting too. I don't know if I would have enjoyed either show for their whole run, but I would have been far more willing to check them out than I am with Akame Ga Kill.

Well hot diggity dog! Michiko and Hatchin was the one that I wanted, and the one people here kept telling me I'd never get!

Michiko and Hatchin making it into Toonami makes sense considering Watanabe's involvement and it's overall tone and direction .

Akame Ga Kill is cool because it confirms Sentai shows can air on Toonami. As far as what shows Sentai has that could fit...High School of the Dead, probably. I also think From the New World would have a good chance. Persona 4 would also probably work quite well. Doubt they'd take a chance with Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere. Beyond the Boundary might be 50/50. Dusk Maiden of Amnesia...even less likely. Can probably rule out all their harems and romance series (at least the ones they've bothered to dub ). The few Mecha they have, not including Majestic prince and that are actually dubbed, would probably not have much of a chance either.

Though if people want Fate on Toonami...maybe they'd go with Prism Illya ?

But as a series itself, it seems quite interesting. I knew enough about it from just reading about the Manga to know it wasn't my type of series, but what I've read and seen makes it look like a series that can be enjoyable and interesting in its own way, and I've read about a lot of people who enjoyed both the manga and the anime (even as an anime-only viewer). About the only general sour point is near the end,where it starts really deviating from the manga. Reading the reactions to the series here will be quite interesting .

If it helps Brazil does have a major Japanese population. So much that some Japanese Programs (Mostly Toku and so on) were imported in what was the first wave of "Japanese Cultural Invasion" in the country, But yeah, everyone being Japanese doesnt really make much sense.

While I've never seen the show, I'm not exactly looking forward to it either.

I finally got around to watching M&H on Hulu back in February. It's not perfect, but if you want an action series that will tug at your heartstrings, it's quite a ride. Sweet that Toonami's gonna show it - it might appeal to the Cowboy Bebop crowd.

I think this show marks Toonami's first acquisition that was directed by a woman - Sayo Yamamoto, who went on to helm the Lupin III series The Woman Called Fujiko Mine.
