DST begins on March 10 and Toonami's 16th birthday happens a week later. Doesn't that seem uniquely coincidental?

Also, if what you said is correct, Toonami would air at 11PM starting that week.

It does, but if they had something special where 11pm wouldn't be given, then pre-birthday Toonami would only have 5 hours, since we'd lose 2am.


Another theory, is 8 hours - 9pm-6am (minus 2am). Big dreaming right there. I'd lean deep to the "not happening" side, but, we will see.

Final theory, is a 1 or 2-hour block of something

Or, you know, we could just lose either the Cowboy Bebop or Inuyasha hours for a week. Barely anyone watches the Inuyasha hour anyways.

This bump has been airing throughout the week to promote Soul Eater. It must've been a really sudden change if the bump still says that it's airing at 1:30AM.

I'd figure unless they did a slightly special schedule that week they'd just take off 1 hour of Toonami's time. Probably either InuYasha or Cowboy Bebop. Whichever they think will do better. They could always keep 1 episode of each though and use that as a transition to bringing in another show to the late hours on March 17th. Nothing new mind you, just FLCL, Big O or both.

I think they'll run a movie or two, or 3 if they have some they still had the rights to, on March 16th/17th if anything out of the ordinary. Maybe they'll make all of March a movie month but that's pretty rough on people wanting to watch Soul Eater because a 1AM slot is very likely to be pre-empted for a movie unless they started it at 11PM as an expansion of Toonami.

Soul Eater is airing at 1AM. The bumps are incorrect.

According to the Tumblr, Samurai Champloo didn't do that well when it aired on Adult Swim. I always thought it did really good somehow. However, I don't think the fact that it didn't do well on Adult Swim will affect its chances of airing on Toonami since they gave Eureka Seven another go.

I remember the initial run did inconsistently but not much moreso than GitS or other shows on around the same time. I guess it didn't do as hot in reruns.

That's surprising but I guess it explains why they didn't hold on to it longer. It sold great for Geneon but I guess that didn't translate to great ratings overall.

I think it'd do well on Toonami, certainly better than E7 has but it is just as well if they got something that hasn't aired on ASA instead.

Also according to Toonami's Tumblr, they were only able to air DBZ on April Fool's Day because all of the parties involved flagged any rights issues for just the one night. It seems like Nicktoon's rights to DBZ Kai prevents the original series from airing on another cable channel under normal circumstances.

I wonder if Nick is annoyed at all if potentially letting AS air DBZ lead to Toonami coming back and potentially being a rival for them altho considering i don't think Nick is doing much at midnight on Saturdays.. That's if Nick even had to be asked.

I don't think that airing DBZ on Toonami would really hurt Nick when they don't air DBZ Kai during that time and the target audience for Toonam is significantly older than the kids they're trying to appeal to on Nicktoons. I'm still perfectly fine with DBZ not airing on the block. While it could get good ratings, DBZ just does not need any more exposure and I'd much rather see them get new shows that aren't nearly as well known/successful as DBZ is.

They occasionally bring it back to a decent timeslot. Plus, the Buu saga should be coming and they still air DBZ movies.

I'd be alot more exited for Soul Eater if I have already seen the entire series on netflix, still it'll be nice to watch it again to the beginning. Just wish they didn't have Toonami only once a week, cause at that rate it'll be months before they get to the good stuff, same with Naruto.

Yeah, a show like DBZ airing once a week would get pretty tiring. The fights in Bleach can drag out too from what I've heard, but at least those are new to most casual fans who just follow the dub. Plus, if they had the kind of money in their budget that it would take to get DBZ airing on the block, I'd much rather see them use it to get new shows, or at least older shows that haven't been nearly as overexposed as DBZ has.

Yeah, especially if they went with the Uncut version. When Saturday Toonami tried re-running the Uncut FUNi redub of the first 2 Seasons, the ratings dropped because of slow pacing with the Saiyan saga's training episodes, and it got replaced with the original Ocean dub. Though, keep in mind, those redubbed episodes had just finished a 4 nights a week run from that summer. Even if it did air, some DBZ fans would find something to be unhappy about anyway. FUNi's current default version is the Orange Bricks with the original Japanese score, so you could be sure a ton of Bruce Faulconer fanboys would complain about that.

Does it mean anything definite. Not necessarily, but if you look at it like I do then it means a better cartoon show promo. I guess will see.

I wouldn't be surprised if they are planning on replacing Tenchi GXP with FLCL just to keep the comedy/action flowing at 3am.
