It's probably a Warner Brothers thing with Thundercats.

That wouldn't surprise me. In the past few years, the corporate synergy once shared between WB and Turner has been slowly deteriorating over the past few years, so now it's gotten to the point that several 90s WB shows are on Hub Network instead of Boomerang, where they'd be expected. The WB shows now have to be licensed, so the loss is probably because TC's license is expiring. As for Sym-Bionic Titan, CN owns it wholesale, so they can reair it whenever they feel like it.

My guess is that the contract Cartoon Network had with Warner Bros. to air Thundercats was only good for two years. Remember that Thundercats premiered in July 2011 and now it will be off the network after this July 2013. Renewing the contract would be possible if they had the money to pay for keeping it around, but the cost of renewing it must be too high and outweighs the benefit to be feasible.

Warner and Turner have always been like this to each other. It isn't a new thing for Warner to shop their shows around once their contracts with CN expire. In fact, Turner had to pay Warner for their shows just like any other network, despite being corporate siblings.

Aren't they cutting the premiere of SAO a bit close? By the time SAO premieres, Eureka 7 will only have 3 episodes left. That will leave a hole open for August 17.

The general guess right now is that the mystery show will replace Eureka 7. If that doesn't happen, Ghost in the Shell or Sym-Bionic Titan or Fooly Cooly could always return to the lineup.

Thank goodness gosh we still have Sym-Bionic Titan around to hold down the fort. That show is just pure, luscious traditionally animated eye candy. Looks so different than all the other shows Toonami airs, and that's more than fine by my standards. :>
I am loving the fact Toonami gives me a reason to stay up to ungodly hours of the night. No longer will my insomnia be met with boredom on a lonely Saturday night. xD

Nothing to say about a 3am premiere aside from, "I hope it's good!" Which I believe it most likely will be. August here we come.

I like this change. It's more fun to be surprised than have some nobody on the internet leak the details out early.

Okay... for the confused- "backdoor" schedule refers to the on-air schedule on as.com that showed a month worth of prog.

Who knows if it'll be updated again, though, because the link to it on adultswim.com itself is gone now. I'm personally annoyed if this is really the case. Not spoiling Toonami schedule changes is one thing, but it's the entire month's worth of Adult Swim's schedule that got taken down in the process. Not everybody used that schedule for just Toonami information, you know.

I was really annoyed when I saw it on the onair schedule too. Posted it here, because when it was first leaked there, it was just a matter of time before we all knew anyway.

The on-air schedule is the "backdoor" schedule, at least for Jason DeMarco.

I suggest we politely ask that the One Air Schedule returns, and to make the Toonami guys happy they could simply have the Toonami hours listed as "Toonami - Check weekly schedule for details" to prevent Toonami schedule leaks. I do like to know what's going to air on DVR Theater more than a few days in advanced. Oh, and another thing. Without knowing the schedules far enough in advanced, we may not be able to catch specific scheduling errors like we have before.
