I suggest we politely ask that the One Air Schedule returns, and to make the Toonami guys happy they could simply have the Toonami hours listed as "Toonami - Check weekly schedule for details" to prevent Toonami schedule leaks.

Jason DeMarco said that isn't an option. He also said the same thing to another person who asked the same question.

I don't understand why it isn't an option, since they have left the time slots blank when they were adding Tenchi Muyo! GXP, Naruto, and Soul Eater to the block.

I think DeMarco is doing the adult version of taking his ball and going home. Toonami is his vanity project and he's annoyed of all the things failing to go according to plan.

I love Toonami but I do think this is DeMarco's vanity project to a point.

The on-air schedule is the "backdoor" schedule, at least for Jason DeMarco.

OK, so the On-air is the one going down? That sucks. It was always nice to see what was going to be on for the entire month. I hope they at least keep the real backdoor schedule online. I think that one draws from the same place the schedule on the schedule place draws from, so that'll always have up to a week out.

I have my doubts that it isn't an option, and it's more so DeMarco playing it safe. I'm sure if Adult Swim wanted to do so, they could.

Killing the on-air schedule is honestly overkill to me though. Killing it for a six-hour block of action cartoons that have no meaning to the comedy-focused sect of Adult Swim's audience? If anything this is going to get the comedy fans irked at the Toonami people and that's not going to be cool.

What gets me is that the On Air schedule has been a part of Adultswim.com for a very long time, so to take it all away because the Toonami crew complained about it seems silly. Toonami only airs one night out of the entire week. People used that schedule for more than just Toonami. But really, how is this so hard to do?

The flash schedule is there but it only covers 1 week. The page we considered "the back door" displays up to two weeks or so but that's not really available to the public even if it isn't locked or anything like that.

I'm gonna miss the On Air schedule. The old image files are some of the only ways to give an official source for Adult Swim's schedules over the years.

The On Air schedule is officially gone. Not just delinked, the URL itself redirects to the normal schedule page now.

The actual backdoor schedule is still accessible, however.

As much as I like DeMarco and what he's done, I don't see what's the big deal about knowing the schedule a month in advance. His whole "keep the lineup secret till the last minute" thing is not just annoying but is also a deterrent for building new audiences. Some people don't follow the schedule as closely as we do and could get easily frustrated with last minute updates.

BTW just for archiving purposes, can someone post the as schedule each week here on Toonzone, it would be helpful.

Some people don't follow the schedule as closely as we do and could get easily frustrated with last minute updates.

I agree. I can kind of understand why he wants to keep the lineup a secret until the last minute to keep people interested in watching the block to learn about those updates, but at the same time, it seems unnecessary to make a big deal about it. Learning about it weeks in advance can cause more people to check it out, especially fans of a particular show so that they'll watch right from the start. Plus, they've announced shows like One Piece and Sword Art Online months in advance. Granted, it made sense to do that for at least One Piece when that show does have a huge follow and so that more people could catch up if they wanted to. Still, it seems like an overreaction to me.

Uh.....so you can't know when anything is on until the very night it's on? How could this not affect ratings?

It's probably more like the week before it's on. Unless there's a scheduling error, which is another reason why removing the online means of finding the schedule isn't the best decision, I imagine that they would announce any new shows or major changes to the lineup the week before it happens. I definitely can't see them moving One Piece without warning at least.

There's no way that's happening.

1) OP is one of the Big Three. Those three shows, due to their popularity and large episode count, are practically inseparable.
2) They'd have to be insane for that to happen. One Piece gets great ratings, making it to 1 million+ on occasion. Moving it later into the night would be a boneheaded decision. Meanwhile, SAO is a divisive show; switching that with OP would be too large a risk for them to take.

They'll announce on the tumblr or the intro or in a promo whenever a schedule change is occurring.

You wont however know what the episode number of any of the shows are unless you compare the name to the episode numbers on a wiki or something.

Really I'm much more annoyed that we just lost the most reliable schedule for Adult Swim's weekday and Sunday line-ups. If they actually play something other than Robot Chicken, Aqua Teen, Squidbillies and the usual FOX shows outside of DVR Theater, we'll only be able to find out a week in advance at most. They just recently threw on China, IL on the weekday line-up and I wouldn't have been aware of that if it were not noted on that schedule. Likewise they briefly took away one slot of DVR Theater and I wouldn't have known that had I not seen it on the "on air" schedule. Speaking of DVR Theater what's the point of having something intended for being recorded by the DVR if you can't plan ahead for when you want to record something with the DVR?

If they ever make a goof on the episode they are airing again we should remind them that such things might not have happened if people looking ahead on the "on air" schedule had noticed the wrong episode was listed for the night.
