To be fair, I don't think that the idea of Toei allowing the new series to be licensed isn't too that unlikely. Other countries have been allowed to re-licensed the original series, such as Viz Media Europe acquiring the series. So, the idea that it could be licensed in the U.S. is certainly possible. The best chance would probably be if Funimation got it. Although, considering that it's a bi-weekly series, it probably will be quite awhile for a dub to be ready to air if the series is licensed.

I don't know if Jojo's is impossible to be licensed. I thought it was for a while, since it wasn't even licensed for steaming, but now it's on Crunchyroll and seemingly gaining in popularity, so anything's possible.

Yes but as shown on several occasions, just because Crunchy has it doesn't mean it's getting a video release anytime soon.

Wait...isn't Cooler's Revenge known as one of the better DBZ films? If people think that one is bad, be glad they don't air the, IMO, boring World's Stronest.

I didn't expect that, but airing one of the movies would probably make the people who want DBZ on the lineup happy. I also like how it only takes up an hour, so it wouldn't take up any premieres besides Bleach. I might check it out for the heck of it.

How did they get to air anything DBZ? Is this just for a single movie event or are they seriously considering airing DBZ again? If so, would they be pushing back their increasingly packed slate of premieres just for popular rererererereruns or would it be a way to boost 4/5 AM? With so much new stuff on Toonami I never really wanted DBZ back but I wouldn't mind it at 4/5 AM, I just don't want their four hours of new stuff being pushed even later to make room for it.

It's a shame that Battle of The Gods won't be licensed here from a long time to come as it would have been an ideal premiere to satisfy fans who want DBZ and those who want new content. Oh well, Movie 5 a decent enough pick and as pointed out Toonami could have gone with far worse choices. (Movies 3, 4, 10 and 11)

I really hope that they aren't seriously considering airing DBZ again. The rights to get the movies might be more manageable than airing the TV series again, which I hope is the case here. DBZ is overplayed and overexposed, so I never liked the idea of the series airing on the new Toonami. I'd imagine that they'll clarify whether or not this is a sign that they'll get DBZ on the lineup relatively soon since that's most likely what everyone will ask DeMarco on Twitter.

Interesting surprise -- I also agree that hopefully this wont lead to DBZ playing on Toonami, unless they only go for "1" arc meaning limited time (example, cell games starting with Gohan's battle in "Faith in a Boy", which is where the original run left off, having last played "The Fight is Over") and play it in the mid-late hours. One bonus for me is I have the whole series (the wonderful orange bricks), so it wouldn't bother me any if it didn't air. In the case of the features, midnight is just fine. I've seen this movie before, but will gladly watch it on 2.0.

Anybody know if all movies have been played? I know a few have aired on Nicktoons, but for those that have not aired yet in the US, those would be nice for Toonami in the future.

On another note, I wasn't expecting a DBZ movie to be aired. I thought it'd be Evangelion 3.33.
