So what is the plans for 12: 30 after Space Dandy ends, I hope they keep a comedy in that spot, Toonami could use more variety besides just action shows all the time.

I suspect they'll just slide Shippuden back in there and allocate 1:00 to another lousy million episode long shonen.

If that happened,I am sure One Piece would be back at 1: 00, so yeah perhaps Fairy Tail at 1: 30 which at least fills the comedy gap.

Though really what I think would be good replacement for Dandy is Good Luck Girl, you have to see this, it is hillarous.

Toonami is an action block after all, so of course they're going to run action shows all the time. They can have variety with action shows.

I like Fairy Tail, but I really don't want another long-running shonen series on the lineup. Even with Bleach ending, we're getting DBZ Kai, which should last a good couple of years. Plus, they already have Shippuden, with a few hundred episodes under its belt, and One Piece with absolutely no end in sight. I don't think Toonami needs another long-running shonen series. If they don't want to wait until Bleach ends to put DBZ Kai in its slot, then they might put it in Space Dandy's slot when it finishes its run.

I'm sorry sir,but toonami is an ACTION block! Not an anime block because they also air action cartoons! They aired Space Dandy because the creators of bebop and samurai champcloo,wanatabe made this! Ok! But I think the devils a part timer will replace it since it has a dub and has action!

^Devil is a Part-Timer is single cour. Toonami doesn't do single cour shows because they're a bit more expensive in the long run and the only REAL one they've aired (Hellsing Ultimate doesn't quite count for multiple reasons), they literally got for free, but they can't run it again.

Are you talking about Deadman or something? Pretty sure they didn't get that for free.

IIRC, Funi threw in Deadman Wonderland as a freebie after Toonami bought Casshern with what little money they had at the time. If you go through the list of what's aired since, its all been 15 episodes plus barring FLCL, which AS owns the rights to in perpetuity and Toonami can run whenever the hell they want, and Hellsing.

That's the real reason why we haven't seen Madoka yet and probably won't until Shinbo pays Mari Okada to write another season since Gen's too popular now.

Devil is a Part-Timer would perfectly fill the slice of life/action series role we haven't had since Tenchi was part of the block (never speak of GXP). I'd be all for it showing if they could somehow manage it.

It'll be interesting to see what is picked up as we go along with "obvious" choices becoming less and less clear as we move along depending on the company involved.

They're starting from the beginning. It would be silly to run Buu first.

Going on the "what replaces Dandy" subject. I can see it getting repeat later (from S2 though or back to the start?) -- move it to a later time though since it'll be over. Move everything from 1:00am-3:00am to 12:30-2:30 -- at 2:30 'could' be Space Dandy as I don't see much need for anything from 4-5am moving up to 2:30 since Dandy is newer than those shows that already had repeats. Of course we'll have Hellsing Ultimate at 3. Wonder if they would think about moving it to 2:30 then have Dandy air at 3:30.

As for possible replacements if Dandy would simply leave, as much as I like Fairy Tail (and have done lousy to keep up FUNi's free postings) I'd also prefer they not get it in favor of shorter series just so we get more different types of series. We'll have DBZK, NS and OP, and the latter two will continue on as far as we know for a long time where maybe in 1.5 years the final stage of DBZK will be done in Japan to where we can better estimate its ending on Toonami. I think those 3 long-running series are good enough. If they want to air it, that's fine too, I don't care really and may still watch anyway, though eventually I'd like to pick up where I left off on FUNi.com for a faster watch.

I honestly expect DBZ Kai to simply come to the block early when Dandy ends, while another new FUNi show doesn't happen till Attack on Titan and Bleach end.

They've already confirmed that DBZ Kai will start from the beginning. It wouldn't make sense to start off with the Buu saga, especially when they'd want to appeal to the nostalgia crowd by showing all of DBZ Kai. Not to mention I'm not sure if they're already dubbing the Buu Saga for DBZ Kai.

From what the Funimation VAs have said (or rather what they said and then had to retract for legal reasons), dubbing for Kai's Buu saga has been done for a while. It was actually supposed to come out internationally first, but then Toei decided to air it on Fuji TV as a year-long timeslot buffer after Toriko ended.

So it's there, I think Funimation is just waiting on Toei to give them the OK sign to announce their dub following the sudden change of plans.

I forgot that some of Funimation's VAs mentioned that they were dubbing the Buu Saga. That does make sense if Toei decided to change their minds and air the saga first instead of releasing it internationally.

I'd also think that since the Buu Saga was mentioned to have been made specifically because of international demand, I'd believe that it was meant to premiere on Vortexx, since they'd been airing the Cell Saga, but was delayed because of The CW dropping support in favor of an all-E/I lineup, and Nicktoons' rights expiring, thus leading Toonami to air the series from the beginning uncut.

If I had to post my predictions for the future, I would have to say Dragon Ball Z Kai will replace Attack on Titan and Toonami might get a deal to run the new Sailor Moon dub in place of Bleach. Now, before you all explode and say "Nope, can't run that, it's before Bebop." here me out.

From what I am reading, Dragon Ball Z Kai is a remastered and revised cut of the original DBZ, made to follow more closely to the manga. So essentially, it's Dragon Ball Z (which pre-dates Bebop), just a director's cut. While the new Sailor Moon dub doesn't have any changes in, it is still revised in a way. Toonami ran the original SM dub (which as you all know was heavily edited and it completely omitted several episodes, as well as skipping over Sailor Stars). This is a brand new uncut dub that will showcase all 200 episodes, as I'm sure you're all aware as well. This is why I believe it is an exception to the "nothing older than Bebop" rule.

Some additional thoughts:
*I have heard that both Attack on Titan and Bleach will finish on the same exact night. Now, wouldn't it be a great decision for Toonami to have 2 of their most popular series return on the same night?
*The already-mentioned newly dubbed Sailor Stars season (an entire series never aired in America)
*Bleach and Sailor Moon are both Viz shows, Attack on Titan and DBZ Kai are both Funi shows. Since that seems to be how the block has been replacing their shows as of late, wouldn't it make sense to bring in a popular Viz and popular Funi show to replace two other popular Viz and Funi shows?
*Viz Media is clearly open to a TV deal, as sourced by a ToonZone interview
*The Toonami crew, in their Manipulating The Manual bump, they asked the question, "Should we go more nostalgic?" That line makes it seem that they are open to airing past Toonami shows (I'm not sure if the nothing older than Bebop rule applies to that, but the point still stands).
