How? Since when did DM air on a Viacom-owned network? I thought Hasbro owned the rights.

DM did air on Nicktoons for awhile, although I don't think that they've aired it for some time. I believe that Viacom got the rights to the four series about a year or two ago. I don't think that Hasbro was ever involved with getting the cable rights to anything Yu-Gi-Oh! related.

Nicktoons removed DM from the lineup earlier this year.Now Zexal airs on Nicktoons on Saturdays and Sundays and new episodes air on Hulu every Monday.I don't really Nicktoons airing GX and 5Ds anytime soon.I was pretty surprised that people were requesting Yugioh to be on the lineup because I thought none of the Toonami fanbase would want Yugioh.Though,I think people are requesting Yugioh to be on the lineup probably because if it did air on Toonami,it make 4K Media to make a Uncut or Faithful dub.I still question why DeMarco does not like Yugioh.

I'm not sure if that's the reason since even if a lot of people made requests for it, I don't think that 4K Media would make a new dub for DM in response. While it would probably sell well due to how popular DM is and it has the most demand for an uncut dub compared to the other series, they simply can't do that right now due the legal red tape mess that is preventing them from doing anything with the original version of DM. If they're ever able to deal with that mess, and hopefully they will, the most we could hope for would be legally subbing the whole series, which would be less expensive than redubbing the series. Maybe there are more people who watch Toonami and enjoyed the DM dub than I thought, even though it really wouldn't fit on the lineup at all.

Well, it wasn't on their last list of their top requested shows, so I doubt that it's DBZ level high. That show was requested pretty much since the block was first brought back. It probably more around a medium high level of request at best.

Yes, it was. It was one of their most successful shows and they had the license to the franchise for a number of years.

Regardless, I don't want the show on the lineup. It sounds as strange to me as someone requesting them to air Pokemon, although that would actually be an even weirder request.

Real talk though. If complete uncut dubs existed for DM, GX, and 5D's existed, then I wouldn't mind'em on Toonami. They're about on the same level as any other SJ show, content-wise. Unfotunately since none exist, then I'd rather not see them on Toonami.

Uncut DM would still probably fit the most out of the series, although uncut 5D's would probably work the best out of the spin-off series. Shame that none of them exist, outside of the few uncut DM DVDs they released years ago. I'm just still amazed that a dub as heavily edited as Yu-Gi-Oh! DM is being requested for Toonami, especially when the feedback they got on how to improve the block was basically provide more dark shows on their lineup.

Same with you.I said before that I thought nobody would want to see a dub on Toonami that is edited to the extreme with storyline,character personality changes,and the invincible gun edit.Maybe I was wrong.I now don't think DeMarco hates Yugioh,especially where DM and GX would have never aired on CN Toonami.I guess that he just does not like the idea of airing a heavily edited dub on the current Toonami.

D'oh! Sorry. I was thinking of Duel Masters. The way the previous posts kept writing the acronym "DM" keep making it confusing.

I thought it was established that "YGO" was the acronym for that series.

Word. It's thoroughly a kid's show and its dressed up jousting hardly gives it chops as an action cartoon that's in any way comparable to the likes of Dragon Ball Z. Good to see there are things they'll just deliver a straightforward "no" on.

I would love seeing Trigun on Toonami. It's probably the best anime series I've seen thus far and I'd enjoy watching it again. It would fit the block quite nicely and maybe it could work as a premiere for later on in the lineup. I've never seen Yu Yu Hakusho, but that would work too and I'd give it a shot if they ever did put it on the block.

That's okay. I'm used to shorten it like that instead of YGO since there are technically five Yu-Gi-Oh! series, but I should have been clearer about that and at least referred to it as Yu-Gi-Oh! DM instead to avoid any confusion. Sorry about that.

Trigun and YYH did air on the April Fool's Day Toonami, so I can see them working here if they're going the "nostalgia" route, though YYH is yet another "long-running" series. They might just use it to cap out the night as with Inuyasha, but actually have a chance of getting through the whole thing due to being a FUNimation show rather than a VIZ show.

Only problem? YYH (1992-1994) predates Cowboy Bebop (1998). Trigun literally premiered two days before Bebop in Japan, but I doubt they're going to care that much about it. Trigun would have the better chance.
