I'm not a big fan of blood bath edgy anime, so I'll pass on AKG. But it's about time they got Michiko and Hatachin. I've been very interested in watching that show.

Not sure why some folks are talking about Highschool of the Dead coming to Toonami. Kill La Kill throws butts around, but it's all lacking the real detail for it to actually be tantalizing. The chicks in HOTD look like they're covered in oil 90% of time and the show takes every chance they can to show something lewd. Toonami would never air something like that. It was entertaining as heck, but KLK already has a TV-MA and it's really only been the male teacher purposely providing eye candy.

Kill la Kill ecchi = blank boobs, extremely skimpy costumes, sexual threat, lewd situations.

I don't see much of a difference.

From what I see, KLK's fanservice has somewhat of a purpose if one can look past 'omg they're showing cleavage'. The whole theme is about clothing and one's modesty is something that they go over early on as being important in battle. But others may not see that.

HOTD just seems more blatant about it. KLK is already somewhat out of place on Toonami since it's already has so much fanservice, and HOTD would just stick out even more since it's less action-y.

It's not just that the fanservice in HotD is completely unnecessary and pointless. It's much more vulgar too. The girls do indeed look like their bodies are covered in oil all the time and their breasts and such jiggles all the time (bullet dodge scene, people? ). That scene in episode 16 of Kill la Kill is close to what HotD has constantly, but even that I'd say is not the same and it was censored a lot. They'd have to censor every scene in HotD then which makes it pretty much impossible to air. I did enjoy the good ol' zombie apocalypse story it had, which would fit the block, but the extreme fanservice is a dealbreaker for a Toonami run. The author of the manga has also done several hentai shows so it's not like it's surprising that the ecchi here is extreme.

I don't see much of a difference.

The fan service in Kill La Kill has kinda been (if you'll pardon the pun) woven into the fabric to the point where it's been more about the story than about the partial nudity. I have occasionally remarked about how Satsuki's kamui must chafe...err, "down there" when she wears it in battle, but otherwise I haven't really complained about it too much.

On the other hand, High School of the Dead is more "come for the zombies, stay for the boobies, innuendos and upskirt panty shots." I pray Toonami never picks it up.

A: They had money back then. That was a completely different situation.

B: Tenchi's original Toonami run was actually 65 episodes long. Bad example.

It's actually a special case because both times, FUNimation let Toonami have it cheaper.

Besides that, they showed Hellsing Ultimate, and that was even shorter at 10 OVA episodes, and no, let me stop you right there. The fact that the episodes themselves are much longer DOESN'T MATTER. The individual episode lengths don't mean it aired for a greater amount of weeks.

Hellsing Ultimate might have been another special case, especially when they weren't aware that they didn't get the last two episodes at first and then they were able to get them at last for December. While I don't think that having a shorter episode count is necessarily a strike against Toonami airing a show, I think that it's more of an exception rather than a standard to what shows they pick up. In regards to High School of the Dead, I just don't want them to pick it up when the action seems to be secondary to the ridiculous fanservice and it looks really stupid from what I've seen/heard about it. I don't know if they'd have to edit it more than Kill La Kill, but I would rather see them getting more good shows than something like High School of the Dead.

The fact that the episodes were longer meant that Toonami got more bang for their buck. Airing 10 1-hour long episodes is the equivalent of airing 20 half-hour episodes, thus airing them is more financially feasible than airing 12 half-hour episodes. In short: 2 for the price of 1.

As for Deadman Wonderland, notice that it's the only single-cour show they've aired since the revival. They've had plenty of chances to go for more single-cour shows, in fact, there are dozens of single-cour shows that would fit the block, yet none of them have aired because it wouldn't be as financially feasible as airing a show that's twice as long where you don't have to worry about spending money on another acquisition after a measly three months.

Just seen the Michiko & Hatchin promo. Looks like it could be very enjoyable. Seen a lot of positive reviews -- and it's another female-lead show with it following Kill la Kill.

I was hoping that the series would be either before or after the Aniplex hour rather than in the middle of it, but that might help to give Michiko and Hatchin a boost in ratings.

Well I checked out Michiko and Hatchin, and it looked good, however I think will be watching online (legally through Funimation website I am an elite subscriber) since it going to be bleeped centric, the language dam.

And can I I just say one of the main characters Michiko, she reminds me a lot of Revy from Black Lagoon, only a bit more of a soft side.
