20121110 Sat [as] vs ESPN vs WWE vs 007 SkyFall : the competition was fierce!
9-11p VB 854+FG 1142 vs ESPN 2555, FG 1830+Cleve 1733 vs ESPN 3657,
12a-2a Boon*2 1334 + Bleach 1027 + GXP 806 + S7 674 + TCats 688 vs ESPN 3657,
2a-3a SBT 640 + E7 578 vs WWE 616 vs ESPN 1516
3a-4a FmA:B*2 557 vs ESPN 1092
4a-5a CB*2 545 vs ESPN 771
5a-6a IY*2 509 vs ESPN 659
This time there was no strange 5:30a lift experienced by both networks. IY lost less than 8% from Bebop which easily beats ESPN's drop. Similarly Bebop's drop from FmA:B crushes the drop on ESPN. That's the good news.
The bad news is everything else got trounced by ESPN. Boon lost nearly 24% from Cleve. That greatly beats BDyn's avg, but still doesn't suggest a good foot. They should dump a Boon for AD at 11p instead. They need to see how these play together before 2013 when [as] has to compete vs FOX AD HD. Bleach's drop was nearly identical to Boons. So 60 min after FG airs, [as] has lost over 1/2 the audience. That's not good.
GXP's #'s were OK ep 1 was lousy & it still beat S7's avg when Bleach falls to 1m. Nonetheless, it did no favors to what follows. It's an experiment though & there are only a few weeks left in Nov sweeps month & Dec is the holiday month where advertisers care less about ratings. There's no reason to move it then until after the 1st of the yr. They still have a chance to put some clever promo's together to attract more of the Bleach crowd.
E7 proves again that shows featuring sophomoric whiners like Renton are turn-offs on [as].
Put the 18-49 Sat morning in perspective when considering such shows for TOONAMI. The 10a WWE Slam did 1.337m & 0.43 18-49. The 2a WWE AM Raw did 616k & 0.26 18-49. Figure similar drop-offs then for the CN shows. The same can be said for Nick. WINX Club drew 1.684m & 0.38 18-49. No way is it doing that well at 2a Sat. WINX trounced a DXD Avengers premiere by nearly 1m & 0.12 in 18-49
