Well it seems that White Tiger, Nova, Power Man and Iron Fist are going to get even less screen time next season. Maybe the writers should just have them leave to be on their own I mean their training is done right, time the leave the SHIELD nest. In fact I remember a quote from Paul Dini about Ava when the show was starting.

"We wanted a young female voice on the team and while she is new, White Tiger proved to be the perfect choice. She's tough and smart, and her cat-like reflexes allow her to match Spider-Man leap for leap in agility. It's important to her that she excels at everything she does, as she plans on leaving the team someday as a full super heroine in her own right".

White Tiger could leave to be on her own, Power Man and Iron Fist could leave and form a duo(nod to Heroes for Hire), and Nova could just go back into space like he was before only this time hes more powerful and experienced thanks to SHIELD's training and his black helmet.

Hmm. Unfortunately, I don't care about the Sinister Six, so hard for me to get excited about it, but more Miles will be nice.

I wonder if they will introduce Hobgoblin in season 4.
I know the series is called Ultimate Spider-Man but it takes elements from The Amazing Spider-Man comics and in the Amazing/616 comics when Osborn had amnesia a New Goblin (Hobgoblin) appeared to take his place for a while until Osborn returned/Remembered and Hobgoblin was a member of the Sinister Six he replaced Kraven after the Last Hunt story when Kraven Killed himself.

I know they wont kill off characters because its a kids show, But it would be interesting to see the new Sinister 6 members.

In season 2 the Sinister Six members were: Doc Ock, Electro, Kraven, Beetle, Lizard and Rhino, Scorpion later replaced Beetle.

Lizard is now cured and
Rhino is a good guy and joined S.H.I.E.L.D.
So that's 2 members that need to be replaced.

Who do you want to see as new members of the Sinister Six??

I'm not happy about this news that both this and Avengers will have more epoisdes then past Marvel and DC animated series

But I was hopping that in this new season Spider-Man quits S.H.I.E.L.D and things get more personal, but with the title and the synopsis it's like that ain't happening.

The show is what it is. In my opinion, Season 3 has been a welcome improvement, and Season 4 looks and sounds interesting. I’d rather the show continue and run its course and then we get a new Spider-Man series sometime down the road that’s more traditional in nature, as opposed to having this show suddenly try to switch gears too much.

The Scarlet Spider is going to appear in season 4 but will it be Ben Reilly, Kaine or someone else??
Flash Thompson did appear as Scarlet Spider in the Agent Venom episode wearing a take on the Ben Reilly costume.

I don't know...if give the option, I would be sorely tempted to get a more traditional and true Spider-Man cartoon compared to Ultimate, but at the same time Ultimate has definitely improved and we've seen a lot of characters debut in animation thanks to it's more widespread focus. Tough choice, honestly .

The show has been on a tremendous run, and it's been great to see Spider-Man evolve over time and also a friendship with his team. Flash Thompson has gone from being a jockish bully to a hero in his own right and turned over a new leaf. Spider-Man has learned that he can inspire people and be a leader.

Glad to see the show will continue. Season 3 actually looks like it could have given the show a really nice endpoint of sorts if they wanted. But since its continuing, I hope it goes out with a bang.

OK, I have been analysing the spoilers that the news have given us about the renewal of "Ultimate Spider-Man"; and there are several things to consider around here.

1º) "New Sinister Six": By the sound of it, I would say these Sinister Six are not going to be like the previous versions; one mastermind (Octopus) and a bunch of henchmen. Therefore, we should consider who have been Spidey's top enemies in this series to consider who could and who could not be part of them. These are the candidates for me:
+ Doctor Octopus: They mentioned him outside of the group, so I guess this means he won't be part of these new Sinister 6. However, I have to say this is disappointing, considering he was the founder of the group. I believe he could have his own new version of the group, using the members of the "Superior Sinister Six" (Shocker, Boomeang, Grizzly, Molten Man and maybe a new technological Jack O'Lantern?).

+ Green Goblin: If Doc Ock is not in the official group, THIS has to be the new leader. Seriously, guys; do you really believe the whole amnesia thing? I don't, even for a second; expecially after seeing how Norman looked at the garden spider in his last scene saying "A good son". I can imagine him turning Spidey's greatest enemies into his slaves, like Sandman and Electro. He could even recreate Carnage.
+ Taskmaster: Enemy SHIELD and Fury, several defeats because of Spidey, have resources and good trained henchmen, and previous ally of the Green Goblin. This is a good choice. I believe we could see him create "doppelgangers" from the heroes like Blood Spider (Spider-Man).
+ Scorpio: Enemy of SHIELD and defeated previously by Spider-Man. Plus, his name is similar to the Scorpion, popular enemy of Spidey. He's the leader of Zodiac, which means resources and good trained henchmen. Another good candidate.
+ Kraven the Hunter: Historically, one of Spidey's greatest enemies, responsable of great arcs like "Kraven's Last Hunt" or "Grim Hunt". Previously, he allied himself with Taskmaster, so they could be at the same level. I can imagine him using as henchmen the other kids used as test subjects in Doc Ock's genetic experiments; especially the animal ones. Another good choice.
+ Swarm: This one didn't get too much screen after his debut, but I see him as a very powerful enemy and as a potential member of this group. I can imagine him being the creator of the Spider-Slayers (breaking the tradition with Smythe's family), and working with Scorpion and Beetle.
+ Mysterio: Villain still not introducted, but I believe he will debut (Disney Infinity). With his abilities to create illusions and other stuff, he's quite worthy of being in this group.

2º) Spidey's new team: Well, it's obvious that this is going to be a new version of the Web Warriors; using Spiders from the same dimension this time. Spider-Man will be the leader, and we know Agent Venom and Iron Spider are clear members. Now, let's think about the other members:
+ Miles Morales: This called my attention, definitely. This character's abilities will be an excellent add to the team. However, I don't think this will be the same Miles Morales from the other dimension. I believe this will be the local version of the mainstream reality, the one we saw in a picture back in "I am Spider-Man". I wonder how will he gain his powers.
+ According to a previous interview, we will see Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Girl and Miles Morales again in a future "Siege Perilous' Redux"; but I don't think they will be permenent characters of the group because they clearly have to be in their home realities to protect them.
+ Scarlet Spider: Now, this is a very disturbing idea. When I hear this name, I instantly think "clone", but then I remember when Flash used this name before becoming Agent Venom. Maybe we will have unexpected surprises. I don't see how a villain will have enough time to create a clone of Spider-Man in such a short time after all.
+ Steel Spider: This is a good potential candidate, even although he works basically the same as Iron Spider. Another problem, he's in Boston, but maybe he decides to inscribe in SHIELD Academy? Anyway, his resources and Spider-Gadgets could be quite useful after all.
+ Anti-Venom???: I read this is a potential fake spoiler, but I had a similar idea too. Harry Osborn turns into the feral Venom again, he's purified by Dagger's light and turns into Anti-Venom. His healing abilities could be quite useful, don't you think?
+ Spider-Woman??: With some friends of Peter Parker from Midtown High becoming heroes (Flash as Venom and Amadeus as Iron Spider), how about if Mary Jane becomes a Spider-Heroine too. I mean, this team must have a female member after all. And thinking about "Spider-Island", I think she's the perfect candidate for this.

3º) Hydra: Clearly, this is really big problems. It's clearly a problem from SHIELD, but considering Arnim Zola's involvement in previous episodes, this could clearly extend to Spidey's problems. I wouldn't be surprised if Arnim Zola mimicks the Jackal in these stories and make several experiments with Spider-DNA; like clones or a Spider-Island.

Well, opinions?

My guess for Scarlet Spider would be Harry retaining some powers from his time of being bonded with the Venom symbiote or through Oscorp created elixir and tech. Not as likely but Mary Jane could somehow gain abilities and become Scarlet Spider.

My own personal preference is a more traditional Spider-Man cartoon like the 90s version or Spectacular Spider-Man. But to that end, I wouldn’t want them to try to revamp season 4 of Ultimate to be like that. If they’re going to continue the Ultimate show, it’s better they keep the format they have and just continue until the show ends; it may not be my ideal Spider-Man show, but if it’s working for them, radically changing it at this point would just be awkward and confusing. If you want to go more traditional, better to start fresh with a new series after Ultimate has run its course.
But that doesn’t mean I’m dying for them to cancel Ultimate. If they feel they can get a little more out of the Ultimate format, well, like I said, season 3 was an improvement and season 4 sounds promising.

I wouldn't call a vastly improved third season with a few standout episodes in the previous two a "tremendous run,"though I guess if you've personally enjoyed quite a few more episodes than that then it would probably feel that way .

Not to mention it's not the first time Flash has developed from the jockish bully in a cartoon, but we never got to see more of his development in Spectacular once that was cancelled .

Still, while it's pretty impressive for USM to end up with such a high episode count, especially for a comic-book based cartoon and with the biggest episode count for a Spider-Man series, I can't help but feel that there were other cartoons that were far more deserving of more episodes. Even if I genuinely think there has been quite a few good things to come out of it. Just not near enough to justify it attaining that feat in my eyes .

I'm kind of surprised the show is getting a new sub-title for the new season, I figured it would keep going as "Web Warriors" for a while longer. Anyway, I'm mostly interested in who the new Sinister Six members are going to be. But having the team as the main threat for the entire season could get a little repetitive and boring (sort of similar to how the Cabal turned out on Avengers Assemble). Still, I'll check it out once it comes out (season 3 hasn't even ended yet) to see if the show continues to improve, though I'm not really expecting any significant changes.

Thank you for reminding me about The Cabal. I hope the Sinister Six and the Masters in Assemble don't fall prey to what happened to that group .

Not every animated series can be as good as the 1990s animated Spider-Man show. This show is simply a close second.

Yes, even in the 90s series, Flash Thompson evolved from being a jock and bully to a more positive character. But this was the first time he actually went from being a bully to a friend to a superhero.

Well, I have a big fondness for the 90's cartoon, but I was actually referring more to Spectacular, which would put this show far third in my book .

Guys, I think information about the new future season will be revealed in San Diego COmic Con and New York Comic Con. So, stay on your toes for anything new revealed.

My guess for Scarlet Spider would be Harry retaining some powers from his time of being bonded with the Venom symbiote or through Oscorp created elixir and tech. Not as likely but Mary Jane could somehow gain abilities and become Scarlet Spider.

Your way of thinking is quite similar to mine, Lonewolf36. However, I think it's quite more obvious to think Harry as Anti-Venom than as Scarlet Spider. And now that you mention it, I also thought about Mary Jane being a new "Scarlet Spider". I mean, scarlet is a perfect color for a redhair. After seeing Harry Osborn as Black Suit Spider-Man/Venom, Amadeus Cho as Iron Spider and Flash Thompson using the name Scarlet Spider, then why not?

Now, I would like to say that I don't understand why many people keeps criticizing this series. I was also very fond with 90's series and "Spectacular Spider-Man", but you are forgetting some important things. You see:

1º) Spider-Man is a character that has been webslinging for decades in comics, as he started in the 60's. Therefore, is you are going to modernize a character like this for a different generation, you can't apply the same situations from those years to the current ones.

2º) Animation TV has a lot of censorships, unlike comics. That's the reason why we have never seen classic things from Spider-Man's history in these series, like the death of Gwen Stacy. Sure, it was referenced back in the 90's series, but with a big twist avoiding the "K word" of Deadpool. In the 90's series too, we never saw Carnage actually killing someone either. With that, you must understand they need to do something to compensate it. With the popularity of "Spider-Gwen" nowadays, I'm pretty sure that if "Spectacular Spider-Man" had continued, her death would have been replaced by becoming "Spider-Woman".

3º) You can't be completely loyal to the original stories after so many years. Unlike fairy tales, which always get a "happy ending", comics' stories cotinue over and over. And telling the exact same story over and over can get really tired. Besides, "Ultimate Spider-Man" has broken many of the silly traditions of Spider-Man that I believe they were already sick:
+ Aunt May is no longer a fragile old lady who is always worrying Peter. This May is younger, stronger, and not at all defendless.
+ Spider-Man keeps his guilty sense, but he no longer feels bad for any single thing going wrong. He's quite more happy now, and I believe that is way more positive that being always pessimist.
+ Spider-Man is no longer a loner who always try to fix the world's problems by himself. With his team, he's quite more open and social. Not to mention he has a quite bigger family.
+ Spider-Man stays as the guy who always meets every single hero and villain you know, only this time is no longer by the classic "misunderstandings between superheroes".

Sure, "Ultimate Spider-Man" has its failures as every other series, but I think it's wrong not appreciate its good things before saying the bad things.

With the popularity of "Spider-Gwen" nowadays, I'm pretty sure that if "Spectacular Spider-Man" had continued, her death would have been replaced by becoming "Spider-Woman".

If SSM had continued the show would've finished long before Spider-Gwen became a thing (these shows rarely last longer than 5 seasons making it end 2 years before Spider-Gwen appeared in this hyperthetical timeline), even then Greg Weisman has either said or hinted at wanting to do the iconic death of Gwen at some point perhaps in a DTV. Your scenario sounds more like something Ultimate would do more than the other shows. Even the 90s show tried to do a "death of Gwen" story and that show didn't allow death or Gwen and they still gave it a shot.

People forget that the entire reason Spider-Gwen exists is because of the massive, entirely unexpected burst of popularity the character featured among young women after Emma Stone played her in the reboot. Overnight she went from being "That girlfriend who got fridged to motivate Peter" to a character there was suddenly genuine interest in.

Even in the Sony leaks you could see them realizing killing her off was a terrible decision in the movies, and they were actively trying to find a way to bring her back in future movies.

It's pretty sad that the best chance that MJ has to being relevant and getting more screentime on the show again is by getting powers and a costumed identity. It really doesn't pay to be a supporting cast member on this show...unless your Aunt May I guess, but even then

Who would have ever thought that the supporting cast in a Spider-Man cartoon would get decreased presence each subsequent season of it? Heck, I guess you could say the Team is the new supporting cast considering their reduced screentime .

Though I would hope that this new team of Spidey's, whose membership is predominantly arachnid or Spider-Man based, does have at least one female member so it isn't a total sausage fest. For all of the MAU's failing in terms of female characters and representations, at least their teams generally still have one female member .

Considering Spider-Gwen might be the next big thing, I would not be shocked to see her show up eventually.

It's official: I have now preordered GTA VI for PlayStation 5; the more expensive and feature-complete Ultimate Edition of the game, that is. I also intend to buy a PS5 Slim optical drive next month(?) in the hopes of maybe indirectly convincing SIE to reverse its controversial plans to go all-digital on all post–Jan 2028 PS console games, even though GTA VI is a digital-only game.
