WBD Acquisition Thread

Until March 20 when the shareholders's vote happens, we don't know. I think that is the final vote.

But for now it's either thinking to switch to Paramount, or simply reject and stick with Netflix.

I've predicted beforehand that neither Netflix nor Paramount will succeed in buying WBD, whether the entire company (Paramount) or just post-separation Warner Bros. (Netflix).

WB ditching Netflix will be a disaster. More layoffs will happen under Paramount.

Time I calm down these fears of WBD siding with Paramount.

If I was Paramount, I wouldn't raise my bid by $1 maybe $2 to $6 dollars anyways here's what Paramount owns. Honestly, I think Warner Bros. can benefit from a Netflix merger think of all the revivals that could come out of such a merger I mean DreamWorks Animation managed to grow its kids slate thanks to that licensing agreement with Netflix.

They're really forcing people to prevent the Paramount merger to happen, are they?

That's some really clever website design. Using your mouse wheel to scroll down zooms you into the video.

I wouldn't mind a Paramount merger particularly for the linear networks but if there's any brand I feel can help grow WBD catalogue it's Netflix. A Paramount merger will likely end up like AT&T and Warner

Surely Netflix wouldn't do the same?
I think cuts would be even more severe under Paramount Skydance and we all know how corporate is like they don't care about job cuts but about making money. They won't care if Paramount opts to reduce linear operations by 60%.

Paramount would do the most severe ones at how many counterbids they did submit.

Paramount has a plan B in case that happens one of which is possibly merging with NBCUniversal

Paramount and NBCUniversal merging isn't something too unfamiliar to me. I mean, the two companies have essentially already merged their international theatrical film distribution efforts into a single entity called United International Pictures, and they even share a common streaming service in much of continental Europe called SkyShowtime which runs on the Peacock platform.

Paramount and NBCUniversal can’t merge into one, as each owns a broadcast network. They can form a joint venture that merges Paramount+ and Peacock though.

So basically SkyShowtime (which is exactly that)?

Conflicted about the upcoming film adaptation of Children of Blood and Bone, given the creator now distancing herself from it despite co-writing the screenplay and blocking one of the actresses on social media despite defending her casting in the film.
