Why Did You Choose Your Current Avatar Version 4.0

My Awesomenauts avatar this week is Clunk, the explosive robot with anger management issues. This big fella is built like a tank: slow, tough, and strong. All of his attacks, even his missles, are short range, but he can do some serious damage within that range. If he needs health, he can just bite enemies and take their health. Clunk can also blow himself up, heavily injuring enemies while also sacrificing a chunk of his own health. I advise to never explode when you're low on health; it would be a huge mistake.

Here's how he plays:

My last avatar was caricature of John Madden drawn by Shmorky of Flash Tub/Gaming Garbage fame, it's also where I got my current online namesake.

My current avatar is from Warren Ellis and Declan Shalvey's excellent run of Moon Knight. I loved the new Mr. Knight character design so much I thought it was a shame that they put him back in his classic costume for superhero duty.

This week, my Awesomenauts avatar is Yuri, the monkey cosmonaut. Originally a test subject for a soviet space program in the 1960s, his rocket entered a time warp and sent him to the 31st century. It also made him super intelligent, which allowed him to make his multipurpose jet pack that translates everything he says.

Being a support character, Yuri is not good at direct combat. His laser, while damaging, forces him to be stationary. He can also drop mines to deter enemies and control the battlefield. He can also create a time warp around himself heal allies or slow down enemies. He also can't jump, but his jet pack allows him to fly wherever he wants.

Autobot Weapon Designer, Brainstorm as seen in the ongoing series, Transformers More than Meets the Eye. The guy suffers from a severe lack of empathy that makes it hard for him to relate to his fellow Autobots. This along with his "Meta Guy" status and tendency to fabricate aspects of his own identity make him a very interesting bot.

This week, my Awesomenauts avatar is Voltar the Omniscient. Originally a genius researcher, his body was destroyed in an explosion at the power station he worked at. All that was left his brilliant brain, which was placed in a braintank. Voltar only saw this as a minor setback and with the help of his loyal robot drones, he made some nifty modifications to his braintank and now works as a mercenary for the Awesomenauts.

Voltar has barely any attacks and should always be paired with an ally to protect him. His main form of defense/offense are his attack drones that he spawns every few seconds.Voltar can sacrifice his drones and have them kamikaze the opposition as a powerful attack. Being a support character, Voltar really shines at keeping his team alive. He can project healing waves to heal allies and can also deploy a healbot to heal all allies within its range. If he's played correctly, his team can stay on the field longer and won't have to retreat often.

This is my most recent avatar -- from Steven Universe.

I chose this because it looked cool.

This week, my Awesomenauts avatar is Coco Nebulon, the cosmic surfer babe. Hailing from a psionic alien race, nobody knows why she joined the Awesomenauts, mostly because nobody can understand her 80s slang.

Coco is speedy and actually quite durable, but her main attack is extremely close range. Therefore she has to use her speed to dodge attacks while bringing down the pain. To make getaways even easier, she can drop an electric trail behind her that damages and slows enemies down. If she needs to attack from afar, Coco can shoot ball lightning that causes heavy damage and knocks around enemies. The ball lightning can pass through structures, but must be manually detonated. Also, she'll sometimes do a flip on her surfboard when she jumps. She's cocky like that.

Here's how she plays (along my next avatar, Derpl Zork):

My schedule on Thursdays was always so hard, and I needed a comfort food to look forward to during that difficult day, to make it through to Friday. As the one thing my parents made me eat that I actually *liked*, I figured that pasta made sense. Ordinary pasta, however, was an insufficient incentive, so I chose this attractive variation as my food for that purpose. To me, it symbolizes the struggles in my life, but in a positive way associated with overcoming them.

It is unique and I am probably the only one who has used this as an avatar. It originates from a pretty underrated short called Curtain Razor. It's towards the end of the short.

This week, my Awesomenauts avatar is Derpl Zork, the dimiwtted businessman riding S.U.S.I. the AI secretary combat walker. Derpl is the heir to Zork Industries, but his IQ is lower than a plankton. Blabl Zork, Derpl's uncle and the president of Zork Industries, doesn't want his idiot nephew to inherit the company. To prevent this from happening, Blabl assigned Derpl to field test the Specialized Universal Secretary Interface (S.U.S.I.) and signed him up as an Awesomenaut in hopes that he will be killed in battle. Unfortunately for him, Derpl has yet to die and even appears to be practicing business.

Derpl is one tough defensive support character. In his mobile form, he can shoot explosive holo-cats and lay down snares that immobilize enemies for a few seconds. He also has a siege mode where he turns S.U.S.I. into a stationary turret. In this form, his cat shot is replaced by a short range machine gun that tears up anything in its path. If you think that's bad, Derpl's siege mode can also launch a homing nuke in place of snares. While a slow projectile, the nuke does major damage that can kill or seriously injure most enemies with a single hit. If you get snared and an enemy Derpl launches a nuke at your stuck self, then let's just say your goose is cooked.

I'm in the mood for Smash Bros. so let's put Hipster Bowser as my avatar for a while.

Chums,

my avatar is the foul-mouthed tyrant Negan from the walking dead comics. dude never ceases from putting a smile on my face.

Last week had my name changed after I felt the first 3rd of it was moot.

The avatar basically signifies Dan getting his revenge on -- whatever he wanted to get revenge on. You could say it's hit revenge over Hub Network or something completely else. At the end, a nice cup of whatever Dan likes.

This week, my Awesomenauts avatar is Gnaw the extremely voracious Skroggle. Small, but dangerous, Gnaw is the closest thing the 'nauts have to a pet.

Gnaw is a unique support character in that he can create organic turrets called weedlings. To make weedlings, he first has to bite enemies with his venomous maw until he has eaten enough material to make one. He can also spit acid goo that sticks to the ground and damages enemies over time. With these abilities, Gnaw is all about area control and is great at fighting from a distance.

I'm currently using a Naruto fan art, because I'm shameless. :p

I'm celebrating Lock-On Technology with the Sonic & Knuckles logo, it turns 20 this Saturday!

After cycling through three different Kill la Kill images, I decided to go with Shizuo Heiwajima this time in anticipation for the upcoming second season of Durarara!! this winter.

For those who either don't know who he is, or remember his name (Take your pick), he has a habit of throwing things and punching people (out of their clothes no less).

I changed my avatar to Dopey from The 7D. The more and more I think about the more I greatly appreciate the show. I imagine myself as how I was 20 years ago when I used to be into Dopey.

Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
The characters from Netflix's Mating Season apparently were born from the same deeps as the Warner Bros cartoon characters
