Wonder Woman's Tiara

Watching an old Superfriend's show over the weekend, I was excited to see Wonder Woman throw her tiara in order to disable one of Brainiac's devices. In the old Superfriend's show, it was a very rare treat to see WW use her tiara in any way. So rare that I think she only did it twice in the many seasons and episodes. In the old TV show, she used her tiara as an offensive weapon often (at one point the even had it "magically transform" into an actual boomerang!)

Does anyone know if Timm & Co have plans to use the tiara? I realize that it is kind of a throw away weapon, but it is one of Diana's signature items. Have any of our lucky overseas friends noticed an episode in which WW tosses her headband?

I've yet to see any more episodes of Season Two other than Twilight, so I don't really know what the future has in store. Personally, though, I would much prefer that Diana not use her tiara, as that would be plain campy. The only situations in which she's used it since her 1980s relaunch always involved beheading a monster, or cutting herself free from ropes.

I think someone once mentionned that her tiara also used to enable her maintain telepathic communication with her sister Amazons Some habits are best left behind, I think.

I agree that some aspects are campy. The whole "turning into a boomerang" thing from the Lynda Carter show was a bit over-the-top. Personally, though, I like the idea of Wonder Woman having an offensive weapon always readily available. Sure, it's a stylish diadem, but if it can inflict grievous injury to mortal enemies... I say "All the better!"

...of course, if things get really desperate, and Diana's only way out is to use her tiara to cut through something, or to hit someone forty feet away, as long as the scene isn't rediculously over-the-top, I'll allow it.

Martian Manhunter's cookie craving is great, it's not cheesy.

The best issue of Martian Manhunter (issue 24) had a great storyline involving his cookie craving. It's hilarious. And it wasn't a Superfriends thing, it was in Justice League of America, and in JLA, and his own comic. It's actually a big part of his personality which makes him different than all the other men in capes out there. Frankly, I like Martian Manhunter having that side.

Still, on the show it would be silly because they never show anyone eating anyway, so why would they have anything concerning his food likes and dislikes.

The WW tiara thing is kind of a little to weird. Maybe she could do it once in a pinch, but I would rather see her use her lasso in more interesting ways, not add new weapons and such.

I agree with DB. This has happened before where people who have seen Season 2 already have talked about it in other threads and revealed information, and I would appreciate it if the Spoiler tags were used at the very least.

LOL You got that right. The whole plot of the episode hangs in balance with Wodner Woman's tiara!
