If you're going to do something, I'd rather it not be during my panel. No offense, but it'd just confuse a lot of people.

As wonderful as Naruto's singing voice is, and as much as I enjoyed some of the lyrics the jabs at Box of Danger in that particular video weren't the least bit clever making it the least amusing video of the 3 thus far. It's probably all down hill from here.

I seriously laughed the hardest at "Goku, Goku and Vegeta, they are fighting in the background" and "I wear orange because I'm awesome".

The Brother's Moustache continue to amuse me in their Buggy arc abridgement but not much that was laugh out loud funny. One of their jokes was oddly similar to something Ralbas and I came up with for that arc. I know I didn't tell anyone else about it... so I guess great minds think alike or something? I don't intend to change it now, I like that line far too much. Buggy's voice was rather bland too. Not sure why they made Mohji German and uh... a Nazi? But whatever. I do believe the "you think I chose to be German" was a play on how most parodies make Mohji either gay a furry or both.

Using a song instead of abridging the fight kind of disappoints me. Especially since the song wasn't really funny to me.

Well, maybe they'll do better with Kuro.

I don't think I can top LK's song, so I'm going to take a slightly different approach. Also, as much fun as this is, dragging it out too much more will ruin any value it might have.

Unless LK does something that demands a response, my idea for Youmacon is where I plan on this ending from my side. If anything, I think it'd be a good wrap-up for the whole thing.

Anyway, this post is offtopic if I don't pull it back to something less personal, so -

Not this situation in particular, but what are you folks' opinions on Abridger interactions like this? As the Hey Hokage! video points out, it's nothing but a bunch of inside jokes, so why bother? However, in my opinion, those who GET the inside jokes (You guys) are in for a hell of a treat when these occur (so long as they're actually funny, of course). Should we try to avoid public interactions like this in order to keep the general public comfortable, or is this just a good way to cross-promote each other, since we're all best friends and stuff?

Depends what you're doing this for. I mean, obviously this is a fun hobby for all of us, but it's a bit more serious for some.

LK and TFS get flown around and have to do panels and stuff. Cause they have a huge following and want to keep it. So doing inside jokes for them can be troublesome. It'll just confuse their fanbase and turn people off. Which is a shame, cause in some ways they end up getting pulled away from our fun little community cause of this.

For someone like me, however, who could give a crap less about 90% of his viewers, yeah, I'm ok with "inside" jokes. Well, so long as they're in extra, miscellaneous videos. I think I may have done an inside joke or two in Big O Abridged, but I plan on avoiding doing so again in the future. The abridged series should remain on its own. But fun side videos are open season.

Aside from promoting each other, which is just a happy bonus as far as I'm concerned, cross-work like this opens things up. Makes us a community. Cause otherwise you're just working in a vacuum, by yourself. And that's lonely and not fun. And I do this crap for fun, damnit.

EDIT: I've also thought of another advantage. When you do cross-work, which inadvertently advertises a friend, inclining people to check out their videos as well -- it gives the viewer something to do. I mean, you can only put up videos so fast. But if they're watching your friends videos in the meantime, they are entertained. The more time they invest and the more entertained they are by the abridged community, the stronger their fan devotion will be to abridging. Doing cross-work like this can actually help keep fans devoted.

This is one of the things I don't like about when people make references nonstop. The audience now feels if they don't get a joke, it's automatically a reference they don't get. I get comments like this all the time. Me. The guy who makes a reference usually no more than once per episode. Sometimes less.

Yeah, many viewers, unfortunately, don't watch any abridged series other than LK and TFS. So many won't understand what the Dangerous Box is. Then again, some will be curious as to what it is and actually ask and find out. This may lead them to watch BoD's stuff, which is good, and get into another aspect of abridging. The more abridged series they watch, the more devoted they are to the community. And that is a good thing.

As far as reference humor in general (which is more what you were talking about), we've had that conversation a 1,000 times. Let's not go over it again.

This shall affirm that it is Master WGS + friends, i.e. Pokemon Abridged folks. Oddly enough, not a word is written on their website about what makes them so Box-esque!

I'll confess to being slow on the uptake on this one, but I managed to find "Hey Hokage!" amusing anyway since (a) it was silly enough by itself, (b) a clueless person could just take it as a general slam against bad internet complaining, (c) I'm still a supporter of LK's Third Hokage.

Like I always say, youtube comments are the absolute worst place to talk about anything or get any feedback from. I'm sure the comments you've read are sillier than what I'm imagining.

I forgot to mention it, but I did enjoy the "Hey! Hokage!" with the Dangerous Boarx, as Iruka liked to call it. Reminded me of what happens in this thread and at the BoD boards, along with general complaining as well, or at least that's what I got from the "Not contributing anything of value" from. Then there's WGS response with Ash and his usage of "comedy" priceless, especially with pointing out the bad parts as well. As for the Song, I got a good laugh of it, you can't really take it seriously, considering you made chain-smoking Naruto do it. I can't wait to sit back and watch the rest of them put on a "war" on YT for my amusement.
