"Toonami" News & Discussion Thread

I don't[hardly] pay enough attention to Twitter, so it comes to me as a surprise the fans who've trended a # of shows currently airing on Toonami along with #intruder2. A lot to like about that!

One must wonder if people actually watch these things before they are so "highly requested". I mean it doesn't really apply to Titan since that show is actually really good and all, but a lot of people wanted SAO on Toonami. The results spoke for themselves.

And a lot of people watched it. It might have sucked and a portion of those viewers might be hatewatching, but they watched it and it's considered a success.

I'm guessing they're airing Evangelion 3.33 on the 15th for the sake of anniversary, similar to how they aired the first movie last year.

Alternatively, it could be Daylight Savings skipping over Soul Eater's time-slot for a week.

I wouldn't mind if they aired 3.33 for that week. I'm kind of curious to check out the movie after all the comments I've heard about and while I wasn't really into the last two movies, at least not enough to see the mass appeal for the franchise, I thought that the first two EVA movies were pretty decent.

Well if you really like a lot of uncomfortable shonen-ai, people standing around in empty rooms with nothing happening other than Shinji getting berated, and tons of character assassination, then 3.33 is probably up your alley (hey that's almost like ANOTHER FRANCHISE...).

For fans like me who patiently for three years for it though, its the absolute nadir of the Evangelion franchise (and I say this considering the camrip originally released had more footage of the movie theater ceiling than that of the film). The only reason I'd like to see it air on Toonami is for the schadenfreude the thread would go through.

Well, I guess that's cleared out then. Didn't realize the 28th was a Friday. But now that daylight savings has been brought up, I do wonder what they'll do about that, because Soul Eater (and Naruto) should be the shows getting skipped on March 8th for that. Maybe they'll do that and double up Soul Eater for the finale and have no Naruto for two weeks? That would seem like the best idea to do it in my opinion.

Just making sure, but do we have a talkback image set for Blue Exorcist?

Eh, for other fans like me (yes they exist), i liked it more than 2.22 to be honest. Especially given that film used to be the punch bag of Evangelion post-release years ago on a certain forum and such.

If it actually airs on the block then i expect reactions to be similar to the EoTV episodes 25/26 from NGE. I'd rather it not air since the film requires more than one viewing to "click".

If no one makes the Blue Exorcist talkback by the time I come back home tonight (10-10:30 pm CST), I'll make it, but I don't want to be the permanent Blue Exorcist guy. But I will make it for week one if no one else steps in.

Today marks the 15th Year Anniversary of ThunderCats (2011). While I find it unfortunate that the show was canceled before it had a chance to finish its story, I am glad that the show's art director was willing to give fans closure via a podcast interview.
Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
The characters from Netflix's Mating Season apparently were born from the same deeps as the Warner Bros cartoon characters
