This news is very disappointing. All I've wanted for this show is for it to keep one going and to be able to buy it on Blu-ray. 0 for 2 I guess.

We all have lives and real life things to deal with, but we all put it aside to talk about TV shows. Unfortunately, some don't always come to sing praises of a show nor react the same way. That's the beauty of a forum. I've noticed you always tend to start off a post with the same line, and it's sort of insulting to everyone else here.

I tend to start off a post with the same line? And I'm unintentionally insulting people? Now I feel kinda bad. I apologize to anyone I unintentionally insulted.

I like how this forum has differing opinions. It makes things interesting and generates discussion. I just think that if you're trying to get your voice heard to people that call the shots, there are better and more direct ways to do it, like an e-mail or a letter or something.

Hey guys I found this post from newsarama which might explain why YJ and GL were cancelled. It’s very alarming and unfortunately it’s most likely true.

“So, I spoke to one of the former Producers of “Adventure Time” at the Alternative Press Expo this past weekend (won’t name names). Mainly because I knew he worked at Cartoon Network & I wanted to complain to someone about them cancelling “Thundercats”.
He said that whenever comedic cartoons, such as “Adventure Time” are the most popular (like now), CN pulls the plug on their action shows (and vice versa when action shows are more popular). What they do is pull the show off air for a few months, & then return it to the air without announcing or promoting it. Naturally, the viewers will have dropped off (no one knew it was coming back). CN then uses this rationale to drop the shows completely: “Well, we brought it back, but no one was watching.”
That’s exactly what they did to the new He-Man show back in 2003/2004. That’s exactly what they did to “Thundercats” last year”.

With Thundercat it was different because the franchise is fairly limited. It was a reboot. I think what this means is Young Justice will be over after season 2. We could try and do a writing campaign to save the series, and there is evidence that we may be successful, such as "Before the Dawn," becoming number 1 on iTunes when it was preempted. However, most attempts are not as successful in bringing a series back from cancellation. Most successful attempts start when the series was in treat of cancellation and in production. Jericho, Chuck and Sarah Connor Chronicles were good success stores, but it separates from these animated series in it's relatively shorter production schedule, and can airs fairly soon after production. It's much harder to bring a series post cancellation and post production is they have to bring everyone back, some of them already moved on, and it's a more tedious process. It's similar to bringing back a series after all the sets have been broken down.

With Young Justice, I think it's one of those series that can be the exception because of it's source material. With Batman TAS, Superman TAS, and Batman Beyond, it was cancelled but returned in a few years with JL, then JLU. IMO, it's possible that YJ will end with graduation day, IE the team becoming more public, and we see a continuation series based on the Titans. That would probably be the best fix, and a realistic option to bring the series back from cancellation. It may additionally open up possibilities for Birds of Prey, and future solo series based on Earth-16.

I can't say that I'm surprised with this news. With all of the breaks and especially taking DC Nation off the lineup for a couple of months, I didn't expect that Young Justice would get another season. Plus, as much as the second season is interesting, it gives me the impression that it was trying to do way too much all at once in order to get more viewers and another season in the process. That doesn't always work out too well. The idea of expanding DC Nation to include both their old and new shows sounded appealing to me, even though that seemed unlikely to happen too. I'm not too upset about this, but I do hope that the second season ends on a good note instead of another cliffhanger.

Looks like DTV is becoming the only medium for the sort of animation I like. It seems the mindset across all the networks nowadays is to have more comedic/light-hearted/kid-friendly cartoons shows instead of mature or sophisticated animated shows. Cartoon Network is losing Young Justice, Green Lantern and Clone Wars, only to replace them with Kiddie Titans, a watered down Batman, and Lego Yoda. Disney XD gave up Spectacular Spider-Man for Ultimate rubbish and now has a goofy Hulk show coming up, and yet they've cancelled the very stylish and intelligent Tron Uprising. At least Nicktoons still has Korra and The Hub has Transformers Prime.

Dragon Riders of Berk (a show that CN tried to make out to be the next big cartoon) did worse than GL and YJ in the rating and yet CN doesn’t seem to be interested in cancelling that.

Seriously why doesn’t the Hub air new DC cartoon adaptions? They offered and offered, and yet CN refuses despite the fact that they don’t seem to care for those cartoons in general.

That's stupid of them. It's not very practicle to make the network very niche. Some people like comedy, some like adventure, some like both. The network will do better with a diversified audience.

Similar to how Ben 10 gets older with each new series, with the exception of this most recent series which is the direction Teen Titans is taking (from Teen Titans to Teen Titans Go). As for Dragon Riders of Berk, I personally did not watch that and resisted watching it as a protest of what they did with DC nation. I believe that had they announce the series taking over the slot ahead of time that my reaction to it would have been more positive. In my opinion CN really did a disservice for both series by what they did.

Well uhh.. Here's too hoping we get a DTV YJ movie like TT got or something.


Also if anything spins out of YJ I think it'd probably be a JL series.

Okay. I still can’t see that series being made, and if it is regardless of ratings CN will probably axe it after 13 episodes.

The words I want to say I am not allowed t put here, the reason being is why I think it was cancelled which was mentioned earlier about them abruptly pulling it fro mthe air then putting it back on months later with no advertising nor promotion and expect the viewship toremain the same and then blame that as the reason it was cancelled when it was cartoon networks wrong in the first place. We never did get a reason why these shows were pre empted in October in the first place, almost sounds like Cartoon Network planned this.

I won't be watching either new show as they both look like garbage, I don't like the way the new Batman is drawn or how they have Alfred and other things etc and I've never been a teen titans fan. i also don't watch their other programming (nor do I let my son watch it) like Regular show and this gumball garbage as it just doesn't even make any sense really.

Hope cartoon network is happy they've lost a lot of viewers....again.

And who ever runs their PR department about not commenting on the cancellation and just saying they are excited about Beware the Batman is proably the same "person" who put up that stupid tweet the day the shows were preempted in October say gee dc nation fans have you heard dc nation will return in January, hu hu hu, bunch of....aaahhhh so need to curse right now (but for the record I didn't)

And that's apparently what happened.

CN seems to only care for comedy shows these days. No serious action fare allowed.

Honestly, I cannot say I am surprised. I figured the show would get canned. Not because it was bad, but because it was Greg Wiseman. Actually even if you don't the Golitah Chronicles as an official season, Gargoyles had 65 episodes which is the general amount a series gets before it's reaches syndication / reruns.

Here's something I saw a poster on a different board say that possibly sheds light on a few things.

From what I hear around the net the merch as far as the toyline was concerned was ultra behind schedule and when those toys did come out they were "overpriced peg warmers". Also despite having the best ratings on the network thanks to WB's abysmal internal politics CN had to pay out the nose for licensing the shows despite the fact CN and DC had the same parent company.
