Kimba the White Lion anime is now 60 years old.
I wonder if early 2000s short lived CN original shows like Mike, Lu and Og, Sheep in the Big City and Time Squad would be more well-remembered if they lasted longer. Ed, Edd and Eddy and grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy weren't all that popular early on, but since they lasted past 26 episode mark, they grew in popularity and are considered as CN classics.
I find it odd how there is very little amount of adult animated series from Europe compared to USA, Japan or even Canada.
In ironic twist of events, I remember how like a decade ago, Disney Channel schedule in my country was filled with live action shows with barely any cartoons, but now it is in reverse.
In 30 years from now on, there is going to be a trailer for some person wondering around some haunted place, and then some shadowy figure appears behind him holding some kind of wooden item and before that shadowy figure attacked that person, he says....
"YABBA-DABBA-DO!"
Trying to see how SpongeBob fandom was during it's very early days on Internet made me remind that SpongeBob barely even had a fandom during it's first 2-ish years. I know that this was during Internet's infancy, but still.
I am in my Gravity Falls brainrot period again.
Now that I think about it, I am shocked to see how there is/was virtually no talk about Cy Schneider. I know that he was out of the picture for over 40 years in Nick, but still he nearly lead Nick to bankruptcy.
I remember seeing old posts about ratings for shows and they are kind of confusing to me. Like for example when I see that premiere of a show got ratings of 4.0/11, what does it mean exactly that rating?
So there is now a Wikipedia article listing tv shows that are considered the best by critics. Western animated shows that are on there currently are: Simpsons, South Park, Bojack Horseman, Rick and Morty and Beavis and Butt-Head.
I recently came to one thread from 2009 from one forum (not from here one), and they really had a hate boner towards late 2000s cartoons, not just some, but practically all of them. I still don't get why they got such a hatred towards them. I know they were probably in a phase of "every cartoon sucks" but it still came across as strange to me.
So apparently the reason why Tom and Jerry Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory even exists is because WB wanted to keep rights to Willy Wonka and had to make another WW movie just so they could keep the rights. So they got only option to do... have Willy Wonka crossover with Tom and Jerry. Is this true?
Looking at Netflix Animation's Wikipedia article is pretty depressing. Many of them struggled to reach even 20 episodes, let alone even 50 episodes.
