Summary of this episode from Wikipedia:
Dewey's plans come to fruition as he creates a hole in the Scub Corals, sending Anemone to the Control Cluster to target it for destruction. With the opening closing fast, Dominic tries to find Anemone before she completes her suicidal mission.

weird... why is the Fix up so early today?

anyways, i've never liked this episode much for some reason, though Kari Wahlgren did a great job. i think it just wraps up too nicely for me. the silver TheEnd was very cheesy

You didn't like this episode?

In all honesty, this is my all time favourite episode of any anime series that isn't from Cowboy Bebop. It totally blew me away the first time I watched it, and it still continues to have that effect on me. As if the entire battle between the Nirvash and theEND isn't enough, the entire climactic scene between Dominic and Anemone is one of those rare moments that can only work in anime. Even with the most advanced special effects, a scene like that would just be impossible to pull off convincingly in live action, and it really served as a reminder to me about why I love anime.

If any anime fan says they don't like this episode, I sort of have to question why they like the medium at all.

don't get me wrong i'm not saying the episode was horrible, i just didn't like the resolve. everything just wrapped up too perfectly for my tastes.

just my opinion though.

An appreciated pay-off, at last.

Structurally, if the Anemone subplot didn't wrap up nicely at this point, I'd take that as being indicative of a tragic overall ending. All "moral victories" have pretty much been won now, so I'll consider this a good ending (even if everyone's blown away or assimilated in coming weeks), but I'm somehow not expecting anything too disastrous aside from a fatality here or there.

Incidentally, I like when the new Fix actually works for me. I'm still bitter over the gimping of the "fullscreen" option, though. Stretching the video this way is icky.

The ending to this episode is supposed to be romantic poetry, not realism.

Beautifully said! I couldn't say it any other way!

Just got in a half-hour ago and flipped Eureka 7 on. A beautiful episode with tearjerking scenes!

2 more left!! :(

PS: This is why I love Kari Wahlgren!! :anime:

To be fair a regular cartoon could pull off a moment like this. If you know any of them tried to go after this level of drama (the ones who do usually either don't stay for it as long or are action fare made for kids who they wouldn't of put so much of the romance angle in for) but yeah life action a moment like this would never work. And yet work it did.

Only three episodes left. In the first of these three, we finally resolve the whole Anenonme/Dominque romance plot. Not played as strongly as Eureka/Renton (probably as much as Talho/Holland though) this relationship has been through it's up and downs, mainly due to Anenome being created to be a psychotic killer as part of Dewey's evil motives. And yet in the end she is able to find sadness, fear and guilt about what she's done and wishes for a chance to start again. And in one of the best scenes of Eureka Seven, with an Incredible End/Nivage battle, emotional reconnection and saving and lovers reuninint is finally able to find that peace with Dominque. In a heavy cost though the End is destoryed. If that bonded as much as it the Nirvage did with Renton and co (which based on it's sacrifice it did) that really has to suck for Anenonme. Dewey's probably planning much worse though as next time he and Holland will prboably have a battle (that's what they said about "men settling a score" right?) as we reach the climantic end of Eureka Seven. The Ending of the series (heh, end pun) has been quite a ride and hope it continues being so in the last two episodes.

I always liked the Anemone/Dominic romance the most in E7, Eureka/Renton's got extremely tired when the majority of the last episodes always have to have some scene where they declare their love, never give up, and so forth. But here it worked out very well.

I have to agree that this is my favorite episode of the series, everything just seemed to work so perfectly.

I'd have to agree this was the best episode thus far, I see now why they saved their budget with the previous 3 "talk heavy" episodes. The animation was on all cylinders.

As for the comments on anime versus american animation, I think JLU had some pretty hardcore drama in the final episodes of the cadmus arc. It's just a lack of funding that limits how much they can do. Outside of superhero toons, it seems animated shows don'tdo anything you couldn't do in a live action sitcom...executives greenlight the same crap they've seen before every time.

No company believes in animation enough to give creators the kind of budget needed to pull off the kind of things anime does because it's far more mainstream in it's country of origin than animation is here.

Yeah, I mentioned last weekend that this episode might be a tear jerker. I loved it the first time in japanese, and I loved it here. Powerful scenes between Dominic and Anemone, theEND vs Nirvash was great too.

Well yeah. It seems that besides DTVs, the closest we've gotten to a decently long run drama based cartoon was Justice League/Justice League Unlimited. And even that couldn't extend as much as a show like Eureka Seven. Yeah I mean there was the whole Green Lantern/Hawkgirl love angle played up but you wouldn't dedicate hugs sums of the arc on it. Not even to the scope of Anenonme/Dominque's level, let alone Renton and Eureka's. However....

That's where I have to disagree. Shows like The Simpsons and even Family Guy can take hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars per episode to make. It's obviously not the fact that people won't give the budget for it. It's the fact that the two major cartoon genres are comedy and action shows. And very few action shows are geared in America for adults. Usually just the younger kid set. Because unlike Japan, animation here is viewed as more of a children's outlet, or as a prop for just comedy. Which is why the only real adult cartoons there are mainly comedy focused. Even if they are decently high budgeted they couldn't pull these scenes off because they'd have to comedy running through the veins of them to even have a chance of success. It's not a matter of just mainstream: It's a matter of acceptance and being able to come across all genres. Anime does it but cartoons don't, which is where the real problems lie. This isn't really the thread for it though I guess. This is really just to talk about Eureka Seven's latest ep. Just wanted to point that out and all.

Loved the scenes with Anenonme and Dominque, and her monologue, this is really one of my favorite episodes.

I'm still rather surprised they let the command cluster get blown up, just one episode after making a strong promise to save it. Did not see that coming when I first saw it.

I love this episode!!!! How can anyone not love it.
What I like the most about it is the dialogue Anenonme gives which finally shows her inner most thoughts. I love this girl, lets not forget that she beat holland in a fight. shes the one that destroyed his old LFO!

And did anyone else feel as sad as I did when The End(perfect name for a killing machine :) ) died. The show has revieled that the LFO are not only alive but worry about their polits. I belive The End died happy for Anenome, the whole point of the change form black to white was to be symbolic of her release form the torment of her low self-esteem.

My favorite part has to be Anenonme yells at Dominque when he hesitates to confess his love for her (I guess some things don't change with this girl :D )

Not seeing this episode or the ending, I'm already predicting what might happen,

~Renton could merge with Eureka and become one.
Leaving Holand or Renton's Grandpa to take care of the kids.
~Something bad happening to Anemone and Dominic failing to safe her from Dewey, or the exact oposite.
~Holand and Dewey killing each other.
~Within The Gekko State: it is either they succeed or they fail to support Eureka and Renton. To me they already succeeded! so that conflict is resolved.

So do you guys feel that this episode surpassed "Morning Glory" (the Eureka X Renton version of this) in terms of emotional impact and climatic effect?

Without a doubt, this ep. is simply the best ep of the show :D

Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
