CN Ratings Thread: Part 14

Tbh, the only classics that stood out was Courage and arguably PPG and EEnE. But that's just the weekend. The Birthday marathon didn't do too good, but it's worth noting that while the older series didn't do good in the afternoon, they did pretty great in the morning. This should tell CN that 9AM-12PM is not for premiering stuff like Casper and Garfield. They apparently do very bad there, but they could probably do pretty decent at like 2PM instead, when kids are getting home. Instead they should air classics those hours imo.

Dragons and Ninjago works well like we expected! Good thing CN realized that. It's a shame to see TLTS losing to RS before it, and MAD losing AO and RS around it, but that's how it is when having solo premieres I guess. I think they should put MAD after TLTS. I'm sure if they switched MAD Thursday at 8 with Adventure Time Tuesday at 8:30, both series would do better in the other's slot.

I can't help but notice that Level Up is a hole in ratings in both it's Sunday slots. It's sad that Cartoon Planet does worse than what's before it. Speaking of Friday, the whole morning is much higher than the rest of the week there, what happened?

via thefutoncritic:

Mad (8:00, 30 Minutes) - Cartoon
1.656 million viewers, #13; 0.390 million adults 18-49 (0.3 rating), #22

Best ratings it has gotten since it moved I think. That's something!

Saturday got the better ratings from the looks of it. Out of all the classics that day, Courage was the biggest draw which is great to see.

I don't understand though, how can kids be tuning in to Disney and Nick more when CN has the bigger range of shows? This is strange...

I think Level Up being at 7:30 will be a bust imo. Move it to 8:30 and let Gumball move at 7:30, so the Looney Tunes does well at 8.

And yeah, CN should put classics between 9-12AM when kids aren't in school. Maybe it'll start the day with good ratings.

Because Nick/Disney are seen by kids as the "default" channel to tune into, no matter what, apparently... plus Nick has SpongeBob, while Disney has, well, live-action kiddie sitcoms (and the Disney marketing machine)... (shrug)

New series high for Regular Show!

Oh, the first Terror Tales Of The Park had 1,968 million viewers.

Alright. That's terrible coming right after what Regular Show got. It has less than half of it actually.

Nice! Everything from Pokémon onward (sans the hastily-placed Dragons episodes that replaced DC Nation) did well! Even Scan2Go hit its series high... though that's not saying much...

Looks like they're beating Disney XD again. Everything but Redakai, Beyblade, and the hastily-placed Dragons episodes beat XD.

Ouch for Beyblade though... wasn't this the Metal Fury premiere? Beyblade usually does better than this...

Even more impressive was they had the encores of Girl vs Monster and Dog with a Blog to go against, as well as Nick's line of premieres.. did very well for something going against those.

You can't help but feel that Green Lantern and Young Justice would have done pretty well with the shows airing before them doing well that weekend. Such a waste.

Good to see Pokemon getting a 2.4... All thanks to the awesome Gym battle. Since it'll be continued this Saturday as well, I am hoping for a similar ratings next week as well... Let see.

dang.. pokemon nearly took out disney's 8:30 airing.. now thats what we like to see...

Those are some really low The Looney Tunes Show numbers. I'm interested in seeing how Dear Dracula right before it did.

Pokemon did really great with the key demos I see. It also improved in total viewers, though still behind Star Wars and Omniverse in that. Hoped for better with that Beyblade premiere but at least it's doing better than Beywheelz was.

Total viewers for Saturday morning premiere hours via sonofthebronx:

7:00am - Scan2Go - 977M
7:30am - Redakai: Conquer the Kairu (rerun) - 960M
8:00am - Beyblade: Metal Fury - 1.046M
8:30am - Pokemon: Black and White: Rival Destinies - 1.463M
9:00am - Ben 10: Omniverse - 1.685M
9:30am - Star Wars: The Clone Wars - 1.749M

Also worth noting that the movie did better on Sunday than Saturday that week. Competition Saturday night I guess? Apparently reruns of Adventure Time and Regular Show beat their premieres that week. Also, Chowder actually did really great Saturday early afternoon going as far as to beat a new episode of Power Rangers on Nick.

Dragons: Riders of Berk (8:00) - Cartoon
1.795 million viewers, #9; 0.481 million adults 18-49 (0.4 rating), #18

I'll assume the low Looney Tunes Show numbers might be due to being up against baseball playoffs (and maybe people tuning in early for that night's presidential debates?)...

Mad (8:00, 30 Minutes) - Cartoon
1.495 million viewers, #6; 0.345 million adults 18-49 (0.3 rating), #16

It's really a shame they couldn't let MAD finish in the 8:45 slot. It made both The Annoying Orange and MAD do better, but I really hope they'll let MAD finish here.with those numbers. I know it's higher than what Level Up averaged, but I also know they care a lot more about that. I will take the indication that they never pulled it completely and also moved it to a primetime slot as a hint to that they will let it finish.

Speaking of, when is the last time a show actually finished on CN, not counting cancellation (like Secret Mountain) or simply not renewing (like Hero 108)? I guess you could say Ultimate Alien, but since they're continuing with that I don't really count that either. I honesly can't think of anything since like EEnE and Fosters in 2009, but I really feel like I must be missing something.

Chowder and Flapjack in '10 if you are only referring to originals. If acquired shows count, then Bakugan in January.

For three weeks now across October 2012, Cartoon Network has ranked as basic cable’s #1 network for Early Prime (7-9 p.m.) delivery of boys 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14, and as the #1 network for Total Day (Mon-Sun, 6 a.m.-9 p.m.) delivery of boys 9-14. Significant growth compared to the same time periods last year include overall weekly Early Prime delivery gains among kids 2-11 (up 8%), plus Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday night delivery gains across kids 2-11, 6-11 and 9-14 ranging between 2% and 47%.

Among original animated programming, Monday night’s new episode of Regular Show (8 p.m.) scored as the #1 telecast of the WEEK among boys 6-11 & 9-14, and the #1 telecast of the DAY among kids 6-11 and all boy demos. Immediately prior to this, a new episode of Adventure Time (7:30 p.m.) ranked #1 in its time period among all kids 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14, and all boy demos. Tuesday night’s presentation of The Looney Tunes Show (8 p.m.) ranked #1 in its time period among all boy demos as well.

Charting double-digit delivery gains across all kids and boys on Wednesday night (7-9 p.m.), the evening was highlighted by a new episode of Ninjago (7:30 p.m.) that ranked as the #1 telecast of the day among boys 2-11 & 6-11. Immediately following, new series Dreamworks Dragons: Riders of Berk (8 p.m.) scored as the #1 telecast in its time period on all TV among boys 2-11 & 6-11, and #1 on basic cable among boys 9-14. Compared to the same time period last year, average kids delivery grew across both shows, respectively, by powerful double digits—kids 2-11 by 69% & 68%, kids 6-11 by 80% &33%, and kids 9-14 by 39% & 32%.

Saturday morning’s presentation of Cartoon Network’s Star Wars: The Clone Wars (9:30 a.m.), ranked as the #1 telecast of the DAY among boys 9-14, and posted double and triple-digit delivery gains across kids and boys vs. the same time period last year—kids 2-11 grew by 41%, kids 6-11 by 44%, kids 9-14 by 89%, boys 2-11 by 40%, boys 6-11 by 39% and boys 9-14 by 115%.

also via tvbythenumbers:

Adventure Time (7:30pm, 15 minutes - NEW)
2.589 million viewers, A18-49: 0.5

Since they don't have Regular Show's numbers up, I suppose Adventure Time beat Regular Show for the first time in some time. Well, it was the season finale after all. We'll still get ratings from RS and AO later from thefutoncritic.

Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
The characters from Netflix's Mating Season apparently were born from the same deeps as the Warner Bros cartoon characters
