That's really good. About the highest we've seen the show do. We probably won't know for sure if it's a series high.

Surprising. There was a ton of promotion, and even a count-down clock, but it was the only new show of the evening. That'll change on July 10th, when Chima premieres at 8:00 PM.

Gumball did very well indeed. I guess we don't have to worry about it on Wednesday after all.

Cartoon Network

The Amazing World of Gumball, Cartoon Network’s BAFTA and International Emmy® Award-winning series, was the #1 telecast of the day among Kids 6-11 and Boys 2-14 on all of television for its June 5 episode (7:30 p.m. ET, PT). Ranking first in its timeslot among Kids 2-11 and Tweens 9-14 on all of television, thepremiere also outperformed Nickelodeon, Disney and Disney XD by double and triple-digits in key kids and boy’s demos.

Adventure Time and Regular Show didn't do as well this week as last week, but Teen Titans Go! is going strong. As a matter of fact, look at the reruns in the link provided. 4 reruns of it did above 1.5 Million. It was probably was the best show in the reruns that week. I'm glad to see that they have other shows they can rely on other than Adventure Time and Regular Show. This still means more bad news for Johnny Test, Annoying Orange and MAD, which all had reruns of four or five different shows beat their premieres.

I decided to organize the Memorial Day ratings by winning networks (of Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, & Cartoon Network). Cartoon Network really has major hits (Adventure Time, Regular Show, The Amazing World of Gumball, & Teen Titans Go), okay shows (The Looney Tunes Show, Ben 10: Omniverse), and shows that struggle (Johnny Test, Incredible Crew, Beyblade, Pokemon). Its been awhile since I've followed Cartoon Network's ratings, and I am quite surprised at how much Johnny Test is struggling not only in premieres, but even reruns (Its 1:30pm rerun was the lowest rated program of the day with only 733,000 viewers). I was going to do the other days that week, but its way too time consuming orgainizing the data.

Overall, if Cartoon Network was to improve their scheduling better to counterprogram against both Nickelodeon's and Disney Channel's weakest times of days, they'd be able to gain higher numbers (as there are quite a few points where they could have squashed either Nick or Disney if they chose a better show to air).

That was a pretty bad morning and early afternoon. Agreed with the point though to counter-schedule them, especially earlier on in the morning.

That was a satisfying read-through. As a fan of CN since 98, I feel that the schedule has had it's ups and its downs. Today's schedule isn't the lowest point by far, but I agree that CN could be better at "counter programming" than they are now. Hopefully Uncle Grandpa, Clarence, and Stephen Universe will all drum up excitement for the old Cartoon Network again. Those three (at least) look pretty decent so far. :>

Almost Naked Animals drops off so much. Take it off as soon as these new episodes have finishes airing imo. This is terrible for premieres. Scaredy Squirrel did fine baring the premiere.

Gumball is on a serious roll. Another great showing despite being alone. Let's see how it'll do with AO next to it.

Johnny Test is going back up. I wonder if they can do the same for Annoying Orange. Scaredy Squirrel had terrible restart numbers, but by Friday it looks more normal and while ANA seems to be consistently low. There were several Regular Show reruns that did exceptionally well. The highest rerun of RS had 2.3 Million viewers on it.

IF we can just nix the low performers (AnA), perhaps we can be more optimistic about seeing higher total day numbers for Cartoon Network.

If I have time later, I'll do Friday, Saturday, & Sunday for that week.

My opinions on those ratings is that Cartoon Network needs to counter program much better. Cartoon Network would have had an easy shot at beating Nickelodeon in the 1-3:30pm if they programmed better. Ratings black holes like Almost Naked Animals, Incredible Crew, Annoying Orange, Beyblade, & Hero: 108 should be cut out completely. Other shows that once did really well need to be scaled back (Pokemon, Johnny Test, NinjaGo). Dragons also should be cut down in airings. MAD still holds decent rerun ratings, and should air instead of Incredible Crew. Had Cartoon Network better used the 7:30pm-9pm time slot on Thursday better, they could have easily crushed Wednell & Vinnie, and possibly Drake & Josh and Big Time Rush (or at least come close anyways). Cartoon Network is very close in many timeslots at beating Nickelodeon and/or Disney Channel, but if they would counter-program against what the competition is airing, they probably would have a better shot at raising their total day ratings (both in viewers and in kids demos).

Great job on these. Anyways, I agree with the points you made. I don't think they should scale back Pokemon. They really need a marathon and a way to get fans back into the series and start watching. More advertisement. Once Chima gets new episodes or another LEGO Star Wars special comes out, pair NinjaGo with it and that's another problem solved. I also agree Dragons needs to be cut back. And CN used to own the Thursday 7:30-9PM slot with HHT. Hopefully, they will think to debut Steven Universe and Uncle Grandpa there, along with moving Gumball and other shows debuting new episodes there too... possibly Johnny Test for higher ratings there too.

There may have actually been some logic to airing ANA and Scaredy Squirrel early afternoons. ANA and Scaredy Squirrel did get pretty darn close to Nick in the same timeslot, which also airs it's weakest programs those slots. Although reruns of their popular series would have probably done better. They probably just put them there because they have to air the episodes and it's they think it's the best place to put them. Competition isn't rough and they want to compete ANA with Rocket Monkeys on Nick in the same timeslot. Tom and Jerry Tales held the #2 spot a few times and was only 2,000 viewers away from #1 on Wednesday. It's no wonder they have a new Tom and Jerry show coming this year. There got lots of new stuff coming to help them later on with the ratings including: Total Drama Season 5, Ninjago Season 3(If there is one), a new Tom and Jerry series, a new Batman series, Dragons Season 2, Totally Spies Season 6, and three new CN originals (Steven Universe,Clearance and Uncle Grandpa)

Man. Wednesdays should be the new premiere night for Uncle Grandpa, Clarence, and Stephen Universe. Not Thursday! I only wish AO won't kill the ratings once it comes on at 7:00p Wed. Those are some fantastic ratings from a Reg Show rerun that I'm not confident an AO premiere can achieve.

Also real happy to see Teen Titan's GO! holding up real well for itself. :>

Wait, when did they announce the days when/where Clarence, Uncle Grandpa and Steven Universe would air?
And also, why the heck is Gumball by itself on wednesdays? Didn't it used to be on TUES wit TLTS? What the reason for the change? But hot damn, 2.5 viewers? Very nice for Gumball.

Great ratings for Gumball! It really says something that it can get 2.5 million viewers alone on Wednesday nights.

No one mentioned the premiere days for Uncle Grandpa, Clarence, or Stephen Universe, Ragnarock SM. A number of people simply just assume there is no room left on Mondays for those three new originals to fit in. (Unless one show can replace MAD by the fall.)

Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
The characters from Netflix's Mating Season apparently were born from the same deeps as the Warner Bros cartoon characters
