"Dragon Ball Z Kai" Episodes 1-8 Talkback (Spoilers)

Yeah it got me interested enough to want to rent Dragon Ball on netflix. I might try to watch it this summer once school is out.

You're in for a very fun ride and should you want to experience un-abridged DBZ by all means check out the Dragon Box releases. Not sure if those are on Netflix however.

How much does DBZKai leave out from the original DBZ? I would assume the episode I just watched where Gohan was on his own for 6 months lasted a couple more episodes right?

My friend, allow me to introduce you to Kanzentai.com, a wonderful website with episode guides for each episode that details what material was covered in each episode.

But yeah, Gohan being left in the wilderness lasted from Dragon Ball Z #7-16, in which he had many cute misadventures.

Episode 7 was pretty good. I couldn't believe it took 3 weeks for Goku to catch Bubbles and another 2 weeks to hit Gregory. Gohan has also gotten really strong.

Episode 8 I really liked too. At least Goku's training ended in time. Shenron who was summoned by the dragon balls was kind of cool. Too bad Goku had to walk back on snake way to get home he should have just been able to appear back on earth when he was wished back to life. I have a feeling the 2 saiyans who arrived on earth are going to be tough to beat even with Goku, Gohan, Piccolo, Krillin and the other 3 who trained with Kami fighting along.

Another question for Dragon Ball experts on here do Bulma or Chi-Chi fight in battles or just the guys?

Just the guys. Bulma's not a fighter, and while Chichi did fight in Dragon Ball it was only to get Gokû's attention at the 23rd Tenka'ichi Tournament.

It seems like the english version of "Dragon Soul" used on Nick isn't the same english one as on the DVDs? And from what I've heard the Nick version actually sounds like it has a better singer? idk.

The TV version is done by Vic Mignogna, the first home video release is performed by Sean Schemmel.

Well unless Vic's version shows up on the second set rather than Schemmels I'm going to chock it up to them feeling the version he recorded wasn't upbeat enough feeling for the kiddies. If Vic's version shows up on the second set then perhaps they got complaints about Schemmel's but IMO Schemmel's singing was fine. Both versions suffer from bizarre lyrics syndrome though.
