"Dragon Ball Daima" Series Talkback (Spoilers)

The power up was very random. Neva just uses some unexplained magic to make it happen. I am guessing Vegeta gets Super Saiyan 4 next week, then a Super Saiyan 4 fusion in the series finale.

Vegeta gets his time to shine but still falls short. And now everyone knows he takes baths with his hot wife. lmao. The look on Piccolo's face. rofl.

Ok... Goku can still go Super Saiyan 4 in adult form. That leads to questions like why he or Vegeta never do it again in SUPER. Maybe Neva's magic hasn't worn off yet. Yeah. Shrug.

About time someone revealed the Third Eye's weakness. It's all up to Goku and Piccolo now.

Glorio, curse your sudden yet inevitable betrayal! Except not, because he actually wished for the Z Fighters to get their adult bodies (and voices) back! The gang is finally back to normal!

Farewell Red Porunga! You probably won't be summoned again for centuries, but at least you got some time out in the Demon World.

I love how Goku feels so confident with his adult body back that he's ready to solo Gomah one-on-one, but it's Vegeta's turn after sitting the last episode out! And what better time to showcase his adult SSJ3 form than with a savage and thorough beatdown of Gomah.

I like that despite her entire plan getting completely thrown of course, Arinsu is still calm and rational instead of freaking out. Heck, it even seems like she's coming to appreciate Kuu more!

Aw, look at Glorio reuniting with everybody and getting accepted back! Goku even finally gets his name right without needing to be corrected!

But despite how powerful Vegeta is now, he can't even stop Gomah with the strongest Final Flash. Everything they throw at him he just heals from and gets stronger. Is there literally any way of stopping him?

Thank you Arinsu and Kuu's quick page-turning that reveals Gomah's weakness! And something that Piccolo can actually do to contribute.

What's the only thing that can get Vegeta out of a fight and give his archrival a turn? Bulma threatening no more sexy bath time together. And Goku, being Goku, is the only person who doesn't get it.

Look at Goku flexing all his Super Saiyan forms! Including ADULT SUPER SAIYAN 4!

Man, we get adult Vegeta in SSJ3 form and adult Goku in SSJ4 form, this is fanservice to the max. Also, I loved the transformation sequence we got from Goku, it's so simple but it works every time for me.

Episode 20 "Maximum" - February 28, 2024 (Finale)
Having been restored, Goku finally surpasses his limits! To defeat the mighty Giant Gomah, who keeps regenerating through the power of the Third Eye, everyone puts in their maximum effort in an all-out battle!

It's Adult Super Saiyan 4 Goku vs Third Eye Gomah and boy is it satisfying to watch Goku pound on Gomah!

But it's a battle of attrition as Goku gives everything he's got, fends off all of Gomah's attacks, and beats Gomah to a pulp multiple times even as Gomah's Third Eye keeps restoring him and giving him more means of trying to blast Goku! It's a back-and-forth battle of titanic proportions!

Though the real showstopper is Goku's Ultra Kamehameha, one so powerful it blasts a giant hole straight through Gomah AND UP THROUGH EACH LAYER OF THE DEMON WORLD!

Piccolo was THIS close to do doing something useful and actually justifying his presence in Daima!

But the real hero of this story is none other than Majin Kuu with the power of a book! That's right, Majin Kuu stopped Gomah! And it turns out the Third Eye is pretty easy to destroy once you stomp on it.

Well, hope Gomah and Degesu are ready to spend 99 years sealed up together! At least they have plenty of games.

Arinsu ends up on top, more or less, but she's smart enough to realize she's not strong enough to be in charge. Good thing Majin Kuu saved the day and is now, by rite of beating Gomah, the new Supreme King! And he's already recruiting Arinsu, Duu, Kadan, Neva, Marba, to his cabinet! The age of Majin Kuu has begun and he might actually be qualified for the job! He's even smart enough not to hire Hybis because no world is prepared for him to be in government.

Vegeta still salty Goku got another transformation. He's so salty he won't even acknowledge SSJ3 since Goku came up with it first, it's "Ultra Vegeta 1."

I love how we're doing the big farewell and Pansy has to force Vegeta to wave.

Ending montage with the Tamagami, the main cast all aged back (still no Gohan), and Gomah and Degesu chilling out.

I love how Goku and Gilro have come so far that even when Goku gets his name wrong, he doesn't care any more.

Well, Bulma's found a new source for keeping her skin eternally young...and also they've all found out that Third Eyes are on sale at a local market. Will wonders never cease in the late great Akira Toriyama's wonderful world?

Well, that Kamehameha solves the inability to travel between worlds and probably demon sociopolitical problems. Kamehameha's can solve other things. :D Also I think that was the 10x Kamehameha from GT?

You had one job, Piccolo. lol.

I don't think that's what Arinsu wanted to use the book for but whatever works, lmao.

Whoa, great nod to OG Dragon Ball with the Evil Containment Wave. Gomah and Degesu being stuck in there for 99 years is justice well served.

King Kuu, eh? Who would of thunk that would happen. So Toriyama and co. to decide he'd be the next one.

Ok, so Goku reveals SSJ4 was something he was working on after Buu but wasn't sure it would work. So Neva's push helped him go over the line so he could achieve it. So stands to reason by Super, he still hadn't perfected it and abandoned it quietly as they moved towards the SS God transformations and Ultra Instinct. Okay.

Interesting if Namekians returned home.

Yeah, I thought it was cute Panzy made Vegeta wave.

Funny seeing how they all returned to adults. Chi-Chi was the cutest one.

Bulma scored all that Majilite. An energy source that can last 30 years? I sense Capsule Corporation stocks soaring. :D

lol, bought all the Beatu Bugs. :D

One final hilarious joke, the Third Eye was just some overpriced item at a country store. rofl.

All in all, that was a fun story, a great tribute to 40 years of Dragon Ball, an entertaining 'bonus' story set before Super, all the cool reveals of DB lore, hope it gets at least Blu-ray treatment in the US (a Japan release is set for July 2), and thanks to the crew and the late Toriyama-sensei!

Man, that SSJ4 Kamehameha was soo awesome. And Toei made sure they had their A-team animating that. I laughed when Vegeta tried to rename his SSJ3 power up and Goku is like "what does that even mean?";)

Overall, that was a fun series. I would probably give this series a 7.5 out of 10. I enjoyed going back to the DB elements and basically, this is Toriyama's version of DBGT. Still, I knock some points off of this being before Super and therefore, the stakes were never really that high since we knew the gang would make it out of the Demon Realm. Plus, the reveal that SSJ4 is now canon is dulled by the fact that this was after SSJ God, SSJ Blue and Ultra Instinct was already known by the audience. Still, I had fun with this series and I'm happy Toriyama had one last hand in this. I'm just wondering now if we'll get a continuation of the Super series now.

I'm sure it will. They should just take their time with it.

I wouldn't mind if Daima has a continuation either.

Well, they have plenty of material from the manga to adapt for a new season. As for Daima, I'm fine with concluding where it did. There's only so much you can squeeze from that timeline between Buu and Super.

It is rather surprising considering I didn't think right at the moment that Dragon Ball at least to Nickelodeon executives would be considered a more kids based franchise. Considering that yeah Dragon Ball in the early 2010's was on Nickelodeon but nowadays really only aired on CN's Adult Swim but I guess considering the feel of Daima it's considered more a kids based show. Should note that this is the first anime that has been nominated for favorite KCA cartoon since.... what Pokemon in the early 2000's so it's been awhile. Granted like it's still not winning considering favorite cartoon of the KCA is pretty much the Spongebob award but still.

Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
