Wowza...
To start, the race was very good, as expected. Satomi pulled together quite well, and surpassed the Snowman. But man, that was one of the crazier spiritual battles we've seen. The imagery was very much like something out of GitS..I wonder why.
Some low points, however. White Snow could have been played a bit better. Zanak and Judy as simply pawns with Max as the true leader doesn't really agree with scenes we saw earlier in the series (Zanak giving orders to the other two). And yeah...the whole "tear and make sudden change for the better" thing was a bit too farfetched considering this girl has been a master hacker for some time.
The whole Takeshi and Liz thing...oh boy. I was hiding my head on that one. It would've been better if Takeshi wouldn't have said that one line..the "never letting you go" line. Too corny for me....
On that note, I have to give this series a big plus for one thing: they actually got together. What I mean is, they didn't just leave it at "They obviously like each other but don't want to admit it". At least they put some closure to it. It would have been incredibly lame if they had decided to leave it where it stood because they've been building up on this since season one. So yeah...big plus.
I like the fact that Johnny is on Team Satomi now. That was a good detail.
Showing part of Season 3 (that will unfortunately never be) was kind of awkward. It does kind of tell you that the makers of the show knew this wasn't go to do so well. Some confidence they had.
For a finale...yeah I was expecting more, but we got some closure, even if some of it wasn't so good. The battle was great, though
7/10
For the series...it's been one hell of a ride, and I've enjoyed a great majority of it. I can't say I have all that many complaints, the series did what it set out to do, except get ratings unfortunately. This series will fade into obscurity but it's still got place on my DVD rack, if nothing else.
