"Marvel's Avengers Assemble" News & Discussion Thread, Part 4 (Spoilers)

I find very curious that we have an episode of Ant-Man in the middle of an arc about Ultron... perhaps Pym remains as the creator of Ultron, I hope.

I think they said that Ant-Man was joining the team so they might want to introduce him before the end of the arc so he can play some part in the victory.

Looks like they gave Ultron a more simplified design.

What is up with these stupid movie designs for this dumb show?

:^: Disney wants a show that looks as much like the movies as possible, hence why they basically killed Earth's Mightiest Heroes for Assemble. Simple as that.

Uh, that is not at all how Ultron looks in the movie. What are you talking about?

Huh, that is the Super-Adaptoid's body! The design matches perfectly. I guess Ultron re appropriates it for his first body .

I'm really glad they went with the classic Ultron look for his cartoon design, rather than lift his design from the movie, though the multiple eyes are a little weird... I know some Ultron designs have had it, but I don't think the cartoon design really pulls it off .

The descriptions for the upcoming episodes have me really excited for what's in store, though the last episodes description of Cap and Iron Man learning to put aside their differences to stop the main threat reminds me of, like, four episodes that centered around that same idea in season 1 .

Heh, looks like we're getting another variation of Cap's Kooky Quartet in animation ;).

But wait, Fox has had the X-Men cartoon rights this entire time!? That's why we haven't gotten an X-Men cartoon in so long ?

I wonder if it's the same for the Fantastic Four? But wait...then how could Marvel animation still use Wolverine and the FF in their cartoons ?

No Disney didn't killed EMH Jeph Loeb did of you forget that he did.

The funny thing is people accused it of being a rip-off of the movie when movie Ultron only has two eyes. ;)

That's news to me as well. Which is weird because Fox is trying to do an X-Men TV show and mentioned that Marvel gets the say as to whether or does or doesn't happen.

The X-Men is Marvel property, THEY have the rights to produce an animated x-men series, not fox. But oh well, considering AA and S.M.A.S.H. maybe it's a blessing in disguise that we won't see the x-men in animation anytime soon

So I notice it mentioned Tony having a "team" and Cap having one. I wonder who is on which.

Well, we know who's on Cap's Kooky Quartet (Hawkeye, Widow, and Hulk) from the panel, and considering the episode summaries I think Ant-Man will probably join Tony. We might see some of the Age of Ultron cast, like Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, and Vision, but I'm not sure if it'll be by "Ultron Outbreak." Though I'd be shocked if Vision didn't come out of the Ultron arc somehow ;).

I know Wacker's been pretty big on getting Carol Danvers in there as Captain Marvel, so we might see her pop up eventually though I doubt she'd join Iron Man over Cap .

News to me that Fox has the TV and animation rights for X-Men.

Fox has the Tv AND animation rights now?

Hmm, this is probably a new deal, since Fox execs mentioned months ago that they are in talks with Marvel to get the ok for an X-men live action tv. Now that they have the animation i am hoping that they will make a new niamted series. coz lets face it, Marvel WILL never do a new cartoon with Fox having film rights.

I also wonder what did marvel get in exchange for giving them tv and aniomation rights??? (maybe galactus and surfer? one can only hope)

And this is why we can't have nice things.

I mean, I get the movie rights issue and how that factors into the cartoons, but I don't really see how Fox could have had the animation rights since I'm pretty sure Wolverine and the X-Men was in-house. And they probably wouldn't be able to use Wolverine if they didn't have the animation rights...not to mention there's no way Marvel would give it to Fox to begin with if they didn't have to :ack:.

I'd hate to think it was a lie to deflect blame from Marvel for not doing anything with the X-Men, when their not owning the movie rights are the main reason...that would just seem really unprofessional and a disservice to the fans. But then I don't really get how Fox could have the animation rights now .

Heck, Fox having the animation rights is even worse than Marvel having it now since their entire animation division is pretty much just comedies and sitcoms .

That's kind of odd seeing as Marvel was responsible for the production of the last X-Men and FF series and haven't shown any problem using characters in various shows before. These rights issues are so sticky. I kind of get the feeling something was lost in translation here but either way, there's no series on the horizon

Well, FOX was negotiating with Marvel a few months back about obtaining the TV rights to produce their own show, Marvel may have traded them the animation rights for something to share in return....

More "Captain America and Iron Man have disagreements, but learn to appreciate each other"? It's episode 40 and beyond. Shouldn't we be past this by now? Is Cap and Tony's relationship even "broken" as of the end of episode 39?

Also, why does the description for the April 12 episode make it sound like Cap doesn't know who/what Ultron is?

It's official: I have now preordered GTA VI for PlayStation 5; the more expensive and feature-complete Ultimate Edition of the game, that is. I also intend to buy a PS5 Slim optical drive next month(?) in the hopes of maybe indirectly convincing SIE to reverse its controversial plans to go all-digital on all post–Jan 2028 PS console games, even though GTA VI is a digital-only game.
