Nickelodeon Ratings Discussion, part 3

Very healthy SBSP ratings Tuesday. For the record THH rounded up to 2.2M. The SBSP lead had 2.7M. Not too bad. I think this is the first time THH has ever made this list. Of course, it goes by different demos than the THH target, but it's encouraging nonetheless and it's nice to see THH score a 2.2M on a repeat, when it's premiere was 2.4M. That's pretty awesome IMO.

----

Didn't know it was a Jessie season premiere (does that mean Jessie officially back on Friday nights again?), but if SaC/THH could hold decent ratings despite Cars 2 getting a 3.7M, I think they'll be OK against Jessie.

SBSP did well. With the weekend numbers and weekday numbers coming up, it looks like Nick is ready to control Q4. With TMNT, and now, FOP returning this month, Nick is looking good for the foreseeable future. And with a SBSP premiere scheduled for 10/12 (Labor Day), and a special scheduled later this Fall, SpongeBob's numbers will only increase, which benefits Nick as a whole. And I'm really watching THH very carefully, the ratings for the show are increasing every week. Not to mention it is doing decently in the K6-11 demo, I am pretty sold on the idea of THH surpassing SaC.

yeah the season premiere is on Saturday then the following week it goes back to fridays.

Shucks, thought Friday nights might begin losing steam, but with Jessie back up, DwaB and AF will climb back up in the ratings. Oh well.

Yes, it could be a very nice quarter for Nick if the trends continue with EVERYTHING going October and November, and perhaps a bit into December as well. Crossing my fingers that Nick will be able to have more a presence.

Interesting you mention THH might be able to surpass SaC. In terms of overall ratings or in the demo? I don't think it'll ever out perform SaC overall, but it seems like its catching steam. Unlike other Nick live action shows, THH hasn't bled to the point of no return so there's hope.

Hopefully, Nick schedules a couple more SBSP premieres throughout the Fall. They did that last Fall and it resulted in SpongeBob repeats to be above 4 million viewers for the rest of Fall and through Winter. Not to mention the massive boost SJC and TMNT would receive, even for repeats. The K2-11 demo would be through the roof and could help gain some ground in the K6-11 demo Nick is so far behind in. And yes I know it seems far fetched but I really think THH could surpass SaC in total viewers. It's already beating SaC in the demos so why not?

Yes, Jessie will back on Friday nights starting October 11th. In addition, I'm happy about the Haunted Hathaways repeat. And yes this is the first time it made a weekday cable list. Woo hoo!

Not sure if THH could overtake SaC in the overall ratings, mainly because it'll always follow SaC, but it'll likely do just as good or better than SaC in the demos.

However... this Saturday SaC goes head to head against Jessie and THH goes head to head against Phineas and Ferb. I think THH has a better chance than SaC to trump it's direct competition. It'll be an interesting Saturday night ....

I think THH will have a strong Halloween showing because of the theme, but do you expect a second season for it to be announced soon?

Probably not soon. The show just received an additional six episodes for season 1. IMO, if THH remains over 2.3M on premieres and holds steady in the demos, it'll likely get renewed for a 14 episode season 2, with an increase of episodes IF ratings hold thru. But considering how bad Nicks previous live action shows have been in the ratings, and that Nick really only has three live action shows for the foreseeable future, I think it will get a season 2.

Here are the total viewership averages for Q3:
1.79M - Disney Channel (down 1%)
1.76M - Nickelodeon (up 6%)
1.06M - Cartoon Network (down 14%)

Seeing how repeats of THH score higher than any live action show has done in premieres in over a year, I find it unlikely that THH wouldn't get renewed. I see THH fluctuating in the ratings once the show is re-established without any DC competition.

Wow, CN is WAY behind. Like Nick 2011 behind but worse because CN already isn't very popular. DC is pretty much the same. But with some of there biggest shows ending and there new shows floundering, Disney could be on a downward spiral. Great to see Nick improve. Also, great to see Nick so close to Disney despite holding most of their premieres for months now. With all the content on its way (a SBSP special, TMNT S2, SJC, FOP's return, TTM, Breadwinners, Etc.) it looks like the next few months are Nick's for the taking. Wednesday Cable Ratings: ‘Duck Dynasty’ Wins Night, ‘Bad Ink’,’ South Park’, ‘Miley: The Movement’, ‘The Bridge’ & More - Ratings | TVbytheNumbers Also, it seems SBSP weekday numbers are finally back to normal. Yesterday, it scored 3.1 million viewers at 6:30. The SaC repeat afterward scored 2.5 million viewers, which is great news for the show.

HAPPY to see SBSP numbers back up to 2.6-3.1M so far - and there's still Thursday/Friday. This should definitely help the weekend premieres. For SaC, I think this is like the third or fourth time a repeat out performs or almost out performs the premiere. SaC/THH seems to be thriving in that 7 p.m. slot. I hope Nick eventually removes DaJ completely and gives SaC/THH that 7 p.m. hour. Should do OK in the ratings and get the show more viewers.

Great to see Nick up in the overall ratings, while the other two networks were down. As Nick Fan 2.0 said, it hasn't even been a full deck of shows. October to December could be huge for Nick. Competition wise, Disney's premieres are down, some of their stronger shows are ending (SiU/GLC), some of their remaining shows are weak (AF/DwaB/FH/PaF), and some of their heavily promoted new shows (WoY/LaM) have been just OK - by their standards at least. Seems to be more traction on Nick during weekday repeats as well - obviously fueled by SBSP.

It seems like the high SBSP numbers are here to stay. This obviously benifits the whole network, particularly whatever follows it at its peak. SaC/THH will continue to repeat well following SpongeBob and SJC will get a big boost, which effectively boosts the whole morning block. Also, with TMNT, FOP, & SJC FINALLY premiering all at once, the numbers will likely massive. IMO Nick has the K2-11 demo won. As for the K6-11 demo, SJC has performed well there before and TMNT skews to a slightly older audience, so we'll see how that goes

Last Saturday's new Rabbids Invasion scored 2.5 million viewers and Monsters vs Aliens scored 1.6 million viewers. Good, okay, or bad.
Son of the Bronx: Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., NickToons, TeenNick and Nick at Nite ratings (September 23-29, 2013)

Actually RI scored a 2.1M (2.053). MvA was a 1.6M (1.617). RI scored a little higher on Sunday 2.2M (2.165). But that was because TMNT scored a 2.5M, vs a 2.2M on Saturday.Safe to say RI can score fairly well, depending on the lead. If TMNT begins to score around 3M and RI premieres after, it'll retain a pretty good amount. Unfortunately, I think there's only one new RI in October.

MvA, not too good. It'll be interesting to see if MvA airs out all episodes this year, which I think is possible. Considering the huge premiere lineup, Nick is probably waiting on MvA to finish before they bring on anything else.

The 10:30 a.m. SJC repeat scored a 2.9M. Huge drop from SBSP at 3.7M, but if SJC premieres, and SBSP is around 3.5M, that bodes well for SJC.

I'm a little disapponted there was such a big gap between SBSP-SJC but it was just a repeat and 2.9 is pretty good regardless. As for RI, I think it is stronger than its given credit for. It is at least strong enough to hold onto its lead well. I think once TMNT returns with strong numbers, it will be right behind. MvA's ratings are trash. Nuff said. I'm looking forward to this weeks numbers to see if how big of a boost SBSP can be for SJC and the rest of the morning block. A couple premieres would go a longgg way.

The rest of SBSP Saturday morning weren't close to 3.7M, so perhaps it was just one of those "out of the blue" slots for SBSP. We'll see how SJC premiere does this week. The 3.1M it had on two weeks ago was it's highest since the second episode and barely dropped from the SBSP lead. Would have loved to have seen SJC premiere number AFTER a 3.7M SBSP repeat, but as long as SBSP scored over 3M this week, I'm sure SJC did as well.

Don't know if this week will be a huge gauge, only SJC and MvA premiered. Next week is TMNT, RI, MvA and the week after is FOP, SJC, TMNT and MvA. Those two weeks are the weeks to look out for and as I've said before, you don't necessarily need a SBSP premiere to boost Saturday morning. If SBSP can hit 3.5M at that 10 a.m. slot, that's as good as a premiere IMO. Besides, I bet we'll be lucky to see at least one SBSP premiere in November and December each.

There's only one more RI premiere this month, which is next week after TMNT. Other than that, we won't really see if RI can pick up any steam airing after TMNT until maybe November.

Gotta agree on MvA though. Although I'm glad Nick has kept MvA premiere slot safe, I'm hoping Nick would consider doubling premieres at some point this year Saturday mornings so it can get of schedule and make way for BW or GB! There's only 11 episodes left after October and one already scheduled for November.

Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
