Phil Rynda has been posting pics of Bravest Warriors development art lately, and Fred Seibert has been sharing it on the Frederator blog. It looks like Pen's other Random! Cartoons short, Bravest Warriors, is also becoming a series. It could possibly be for Nickelodeon, but I'm guessing it's for Cartoon Network. I'm excited for this, because I always liked the Bravest Warriors concept more than Adventure Time's concept (though Adventure Time has obviously become something great). What I do wonder is what this means for the future of Adventure Time; hopefully it doesn't mean a cancellation or a drop in quality for the show.

Interesting...
Even though I'm not the biggest fan of Adventure Time or Fanboy and ChumChum and I dislike both of them, this cartoon looks awesome!!
It kinda reminds me of Sym-bionic Titan in a way and looks like something CN would produce before Team Snycher arrived.
Anyway it looks great and I hope CN or Nick greenlights it.. :D (I mean if it hasn't been greenlit already)

The show has robots.

Let's hope it lasts.

This looks interesting. My only concern is that the art style is a little too similar to that of Adventure Time, so it's likely the show will end up Nick. However if the animation is smooth enough to give it a more distinct feel it could still end up on CN. Either way I'll be sure to check it out on whatever channel it ends up on.

To be honest I don't like the character designs at all. They seems so abstract, inconcrete and plain. I don't think Cartoon Network needs a show like this at the moment.

Not bad, as for being a series and the future of AT? I think they might wait for awhile like late of 2013 or 2014 that might show Bravest Warriors, AT i believe will have more episodes so i don't think we have to worry much or probably Pendeleton Ward will hand it to Phil Rynda or Fred Seibert.

I wasn't under the impression that they had picked up a series. I think those are just the original designs from the Bravest Warriors short that was part of Random! Cartoons at the same time as Adventure Time.

Complaints about the art atyle? I've always loved the simple yet abstract style that Pen developed, so I'd love to see this happen, even if is given to someone else at the studio.

I think it would be best not to speculate on things that have yet to be conformed. I haven't seen nor read anything about The Bravest Warriors becoming a series; someone posting sketches form the short onto their Flickr account doesn't necessarily mean that it's going to become a series. Until we hear something official from Ward himself or Fred Siebert or on some network's Upfront, this is a rumor, not a report.

I hope it's for Cartoon Network and if it has robots then we all know it won't last long (then again it probably will considering it was made by the creator of CN's highest rated series).

The pilot didn't look half as cheesy and annoying as Adventure Time and AT got better quality and better art style.

Well...it's constantly being called "the upcoming Bravest Warriors series" on the Frederator blog.
According to this concept art that Seibert posted on the Frederator blog today:

:^: Ah. Well, if it's true, then I stand corrected.

As for the prospect of a Bravest Warriors series, I'm not sure how I feel about that. Honestly I don't remember that much about the short other than 1 boy character trying desperately to hide (or reveal, I'm not sure; it's been a while since I've seen TBW) his crush on the team's girl member, and that it took place in space (or something similar). I'm not really all that into Adventure Time (it's just too random and artsy for me, and I don't like how it constantly flips from zany comedy to arthouse drama to straight action/adventure show at the drop of a hat), so if TBW is going to be more of the same, I can't say how often I'll be tuning in, but if another Pen Ward show has been greenlit, then good for him.

As for which network would carry it, the most likely choice would seem to be Cartoon Network. I don't really see Ward working on 2 separate shows on rival networks.

I think the Bravest Warriors concept is slightly less zany and far-fetched than Adventure Time. Personally I always wished that Bravest Warriors became a series instead of Adventure Time (though Adventure Time has become great since my first impression of it). I kinda wished they would've done a Dial M for Monkey/I.M Weasel type thing with Bravest Warriors and gave it a short within Adventure Time itself, but it's great that it's finally getting its own series.

I just wonder how Pen's gonna do two shows at once. Maybe Adventure Time will wrap up by the time Bravest Warriors starts up, or maybe he'll leave Thurop (he's still on the show right?) or one of the other creative directors to helm the show.

i always wanted see a series of this more then adventure time, heck, just look at Seth McFarland He Has 3(4 Now)
shows Airing Unless Im Mistaken And Someone Elas Works On The Cleveland
Show Or American dad for Seth while he doing family guy

edit: nvm seth has two creators for The Cleveland Show And American Dad
But I Think Pen Could Find Someone Work On Show With Him
Anyways, I Can't Wait And I Hope Its For CN

Bravest Warriors eh? Huh, yeah that could work.

The only thing I'm really concerned is: could it differentiate from Adventure Time? At the core, they're both zany, random cartoons with a small dip in satire and deep (albeit on-the-fly) character development, except Bravest Warriors is set in space and among more main characters. So really I'm just curious as to how they'd make the shows different from one another so I don't feel like I'm watching AT for a second time.

Regardless it's an interesting prospect and kudos to Pen Ward if he does get a second show.

My first thought was Adventure Time in space but i love pendelton wards style so i doubt ill get tired of it but like many have said i hope this stands on its on two feet and find its own groove.

Frederator's website has this to say...

Frederator Studios and Cartoon Hangover make cartoons for television, movies and the Internet, and program the networks Channel Frederator, ReFrederator, and Cartoon Hangover.

Frederator Studios was founded by Fred Seibert in 1998. Since then the company has produced 16 series & over 200 short films including The Fairly OddParents, Fanboy & Chum Chum, and Adventure Time. Our shows are on Nickelodeon, Nick Jr, Cartoon Network, and Channel Frederator. Frederator is in producing partnership with Sony Pictures Animation and YouTube.

Cartoon Hangover launched as a show on Channel Frederator in 2009, and will relaunch as it’s own channel in 2012. The first series will be Pendleton Ward’s Bravest Warriors, James Kochalka’s [strike]omitted[/strike], and the Cartoon Hangover Show, the fourth of our innovative big idea cartoon laboratories.

Frederator Networks’ pioneering Internet animation channels began in 2005 with Channel Frederator, and has expanded to include The Wubbcast, ReFrederator and Cartoon Hangover.
...so it would seem that Bravest Warriors is being developed independently for their internet channel and will not be on Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon. It probably would have been prudent to read the website beforehand, but it is what it is. I'm going to lock this now.
