Should CN start having other animation studios produce for them?

Okay, so... I've been thinking about this for some time now.

I've noticed that besides Total DramaRama, WB Animation's stuff, and a few other shows, most of CN's shows in the past years are produced by either Cartoon Network Studios or Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe (FKA Cartoon Network Studios Europe).

That got me thinking, so I thought I'd share it here.

Should Cartoon Network look into having other animation studios in the USA and worldwide produce shows for them?

(this doesn't include WB Animation, because they're part of the same company that owns CN, and this also doesn't include Nick or Disney, since there would be no way they would be willing to do so.)

If they produce their own shows they produce a valuable resource they can exploit for years to come. I’d say they should only use other studios as contractors to help control costs, & then only if said studios sign over IP rights to Cartoon Network.

They already do but less than what they used to. They should only really be looking into external studios if they don't have the capacity
to handle production or that studio can provide a service that CNS/HBSE/WB can't do or there's a clause in the contract for an external studio to supervise production e.g. Ed, Edd n Eddy.

Studios that made shows for Cartoon Network include Federator, Titmouse, AKA Cartoon, Stretch Films, Curious Pictures, Aardman, TV-Loonland/Sony Wonder etc. Also the shows that were made in participation with or in association with Cartoon Network (partly funded by CN and executively produced) this would include shows like Total DramaRama, Taffy (credited as Turner) and Power Players.

There's also the studios that provided animation services though CN/WB/HB is still responsible for production as a whole (Rough Draft, Saerom, Inspidea, Bardel, Miyu, Jam Filled, Boulder Media, Studio Soi etc.)

I see. So, it's a mix of they still do but they don't do it often.

Back in the early days of Cartoon Network, Cartoon Network Studios didn't really exist. So there was more incentive for CN to work with independent studios for original series. Courage, Sheep, Ed Edd n' Eddy, KND, Mike Lu and Og were all made by independent studios because they had the production resources that CN really didn't at the time. But by the time the current CN Studios was established, there wasn't much of a need anymore since the studio allowed CN access to the same talent for much cheaper than hiring an outside studio to make it.

CN still works with outside studios as RegularCapital mentioned such as WB and upcoming shows like Jade Armor. But there's less of a reason for them to do so now since they already have a fully functional studio that does the job just fine.

I think with CN creating Anime now, I think they should team up with Production I. G to produce the Animes and Toonami Original Series, Since known for producing IGPX for the Cartoon Network

I think it would be a good idea.
