Ok, here are my thoughts:
- Lupin definitely did not do well for the block. I think the Toonami crew already saw this coming as they placed the anime at the 2:00 AM slot.
- The block finally saw a million after how many weeks now? It's sad to see the Family Guy reruns decrease in ratings, because they were really helping the block.
- And there has to be something done to the block to ensure it's ratings, because it's falling back to it's 2012-2013 ratings era. First, I don't think that it's a good idea to air A rerun of Jack at the start of the block. It already has been reran many times by AS over the past few weeks, and is still getting reruns on Sunday nights I think. It should just replace G.I.T.S. at the end of the block. Also, I have the feeling that the 8:00 PM airing of Super is hurting its 11:30 PM airing. Viewers are probably going to not want to watch the same episode in the matter of 3.5 hours again. I also believe that even with this issue, I know that the 8:00 PM airing isn't going anywhere because of the reasoning that they want Super to be seen from younger audiences, and because Toonami wanted to air the series as they already aired all the other Dragon Ball animes, it couldn't air on Cartoon Network. It can't air on both CN and AS or then it would be a bad look. If super aired on CN and AS, the kids would probably see Super's airings on AS, and may also get hooked onto other AS shows, which are not for their demographic. See, look at AS and TBS. They both air Family Guy and other same cartoons because both channels have the same targeted demographic and shows which are for adults. So, Super has to air at Adult Swim's earliest time to Cartoon Network, which is either at 8:00 PM or 5:30 AM. So until Super ends or stops airing on Toonami and only airs on AS (outside of Toonami) Super's current ratings on the block are here to stay.
Now, the decrease in the block's ratings could've been what i've said, or could also be because many are cutting the cord. Who knows?
